  1. I put that in there because I have a tendency to slack off and forget things.
  2. I'd be something similar to Maverick. Fast and intense in a small package, but as with most Intamins, occasionally unreliable. Blue track, blue trains (all of them). I'm big on function over form: I probably wouldn't look all that pretty or flashy, but I would pack quite the punch. Oh, and I would be squarely in the Orlando area. Ohio weather can go do something that I can't say on a family-friendly forum.
  3. One, actually. If you look at the loop on the left side of the picture, you can see the low-profile "cars" connecting the two passenger sections.
  4. @VortexBFForever I burst out laughing at "Windex crew" so hard that it's a good thing I had nothing in my mouth, else I would have either choked on it or spewed it all over my computer screen.
  5. Based on the dates given for Soak City, that is for 2018. The date range matches the 2018 Soak City operating season.
  6. I'd prefer that it not be on ERT. Beast isn't very good in the morning. It gets much better as the day goes on, especially as you approach and pass sunset. I'd rather wait 45 minutes to ride it after dark than get a walk-on at 9:45 AM. Give the ERT spot to something that's good all day long instead.
  7. I've done it several times. It's not hard, but it's also not good. The secret (and kids, this is not a good thing) is dehydration. If you're mildly dehydrated, you can go several hours without needing to pee. I have a bad habit of getting so engrossed in something that I lose all sense of time and completely forget about basic bodily needs, only to eventually realize that I haven't drank any fluids or used the bathroom in eight or more hours. That realization is usually quickly followed by an emergency run to the nearest bathroom, followed by going to the kitchen and draining about two glasses of water. When you say seven hours, my first thought is high school, where the school day was seven hours long, and I almost never got a chance to use the restroom during the day. I would use the restroom once before homeroom and again after the final bell before getting on the bus. This was because we couldn't leave class for a restroom break, but the break between periods was only four minutes, which in overcrowded hallways was barely enough time to get from one class to another, especially if you had to stop at your locker to exchange books. And don't get me started on the tape on the floor separating the lunchroom from the restrooms in the adjacent hallway; if Facebook and Twitter had been around back then, people everywhere would have been outraged.
  8. I tried to look up the link in the OP on the Wayback Machine, but got a response saying that "This URL has been excluded from the Wayback Machine", probably because the Enquirer has blocked the Internet Archive bot from crawling its site. Searching for ("gravity group" site:cincinnati.com) on Google returns zero results.
  9. KI has no need for employee housing. CP needs it because their seasonal staff is mostly college students from all over the place, including international workers. KI, on the other hand, mostly relies upon local high school (and some college) students.
  10. Originally, the wheels were as you said. Recently (I first noticed this in 2017, but having not had a pass in 2016, it may have started then without me knowing about it) they changed the wheels so that every space awards a one-time Fast Lane pass, but most are for a specific ride, ranging from big rides like Mystic Timbers and Beast to small flats like Monster and Dodgems. IIRC, there is still (at least as of the last time I saw the wheel last summer) one "wild card" space on the wheel that lets you pick the ride.
  11. I'm not sure the full day Friday ticket is worth it unless you're getting there in the morning. It's roughly three hours from the Cincy area (I don't know what portion of Cincy you live in), plus assume an hour for the lunch detour, means you'd get there about 3pm CT if you leave Cincy at noon ET. A regular ticket can enter the park at 4:30pm CT, so you're paying an extra $23 for an extra 90 minutes in the park if you buy all day Friday.
  12. I've always spun the wheel myself, and witnessed the same for other players, even this season. Sounds like you got an operator on a power trip. Played correctly*, the wheel game is a game of skill, since the strength you put into the spin ultimately determines where it stops (hence the rule on the sign that the wheel must make at least one complete revolution to count). The operator spinning for you takes away your opportunity to use skill and turns it into a game of chance. *I've never been any good at the skill portion, which is why I'm trying to kick the habit.
  13. Way more often that it appears to the unaware user. Warning: rant ahead. I hate, hate, HATE that Google Maps satellite view always defaults to showing 3D constructions, with no way to change that default permanently on the web. What this does is show the latest imagery that has 3D graphics available for everything, with all newer imagery ignored because they haven't been fully 3D-ified. If you turn 3D off (which SHOULD be the default, but Google in their infinite wisdom gives us no way to change that default on the web) by opening the menu in the upper left and clicking "3D on", you will actually get up-to-date imagery that you SHOULD be given in the first place that shows a completed Mystic Timbers and also shows the Island Smokehouse under construction, indicating that it is from spring 2017. </rant>
  14. I propose getting a cabin at Lake Rudolph for all seven of us.
  15. I bought my ticket yesterday. This will be my first time... at HoliWood Nights since 2013, at Holiday World on a public operating day since Thunderbird announcement day in 2014, and at Holiday World period since 2015 (for the Bert the Conqueror TV shoot, so yes, I have ridden Thunderbird). Who else from KIC is going? In the past I've gotten my own lodging, but this time I am interested in splitting a room/RV/cabin/whatever with others to save money. I would vastly prefer to be very close to the park; this means Santa's Lodge and Lake Rudolph are my preferences. I want to have my lodging figured out and booked by the end of February, and preferably the end of January. Who has space in their group? I don't mind sharing a bed or sleeping on a sofa bed or air mattress. My ticket is the all day Friday option, so I probably won't be carpooling down there and back unless others have purchased the same ticket.
  16. Shhhhhhh. I'm trying to kick the habit. Seriously though, they are good to play on the really, really busy days when you don't want to wait in any of the lines. Just don't spend too much money on them, mkay?
  17. I swear that frame was NOT there when I was moving through the video one frame at a time before. It jumped straight from 4:30 with no writing to 4:50 with the completed writing. Now that I look again, the 4:40 frame is there now and shows two people with the writing partially complete. Again, that was not there before. YouTube is apparently doing weird things.
  18. I meant that you missed capturing it, as in you just didn't get that frame. I didn't mean to imply that you got it but left it out.
  19. I watched that video frame by frame, and GIGA appeared between 4:30 PM and 4:50 PM on 12/30 (closing day). A shame that you missed the 4:40 PM frame, else we might have been able to see the culprit in action.
  20. I'd love to join you, but unfortunately there's zero chance since it would interfere with my college class schedule.
  21. There's already a thread about this (although it was buried on page 2):
  22. When I click on it, the forum tells me: Sorry, there is a problem The page you are trying to access is not available for your account. Error code: 2C171/1 @malem @Dane @IndyGuy4KI
  23. Spotted on the Mystic Timbers webcam just now (hat tip to Koaster Kids who posted about it on Facebook): Note that the spot that says "GIGA" is currently off-limits to the public. So who put it there and what does it mean?
  24. Nope. The two can and did coexist. When they did, Action Theater was in the left half of the building (Blue Racer side), while Urgent Scare was and still is in the right half of the building (Red Racer side).
