Windseeker & Coney Mall Construction Continues
jdawg1998 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I just love how we judged a book by its cover negatively at first then positively the past couple of days. Half of the KIC community was mad about WindSeeker when it was announced. Now, we see it again - in real life, and half of us just had to change our pants...... Just sayin', and I'm one of these people^. -
Violent much? Your ideas don't make much sense. This would make kids stay away from it, leaving adults/teens going to it....which leads to people not wanting to pay....and so on. But, it would be kind of cool if that happened

Windseeker & Coney Mall Construction Continues
jdawg1998 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
^Umm....I would say it would be really thrilling at the height it is now. I just think it's a giant ride. Drop Tower is a thin ride with seats that don't go out too much. This...wow. So big, so thick...and the seats go out a ton. It's really going to dominate the skyline. Never thought it would be this big! -
You also might want to quote it, instead of just saying "this is what KI put:".......

Alright. Let me admit something: I'M NOT RIDING THIS. At first I didn't think it looked too bad. But now...ehhh...... -
This looks really fun, but a bit of the same thing as Maverick...except for that amazingly strange turnaround part (or whatever it's called). Hope to go to BG when I go to Florida again sometime!

Voyage to use 7-car PTC trains in 2011
jdawg1998 replied to CoastersNSich's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I honestly don't see how you guys can say The Voyage is super rough...I thought it was about the same roughness of The Beast. But that's just me. -
Now I know what my grandma's been talking about! She lives behind KI in a 55+ community. In the woods behind her, for the past several days, she keeps on seeing this weird light coming straight from KI. Weeeeird....

Off topic, but I would just like to say I am loving this site right now! I've counted three different topics that are all about amusement park's past! Love it!

Windseeker & Coney Mall Construction Continues

^Seeing that they just put the second one on, they'll probably wait until tomorrow.... -
^Very cool pictures! I was thinking of something very extraordinary. EnterTRAINment Junction opened in 2008. Now look where it is! The worlds largest train display, a great funhouse, a huge kids area....and tons of visitors! Congrats!

A what? I have never heard of that. Not this again.... He means psycoaster. I remember that! I still don't even know what that is.

Windseeker & Coney Mall Construction Continues

...but is that even going to show the top of it? Why don't they show a shot from the bottom of it, looking up? -
Thank you AT&T! I've been dealing with T-Mobile for only a year, and I hate it! Terrible phones, terrible call quality.....now, they might be able to bring in the iPhone!

Dinosaurs Alive! is coming to Kings Island in 2011
jdawg1998 replied to CoastersRZ's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Here's my question (and no, it's no complaint): Where is this going to be located under categories on KI's site? They're going to need a way for people to know it's there , from looking at the website........ -
^Same for me. It's not the most exciting thing, but it was very interesting and fun to find all the little details and the hard work in their display!
-
Sorry, but what was your point in making a whole topic on this?
-
Let's face it, Kings Island isn't the best with keeping up with webcams....... ...Holiday World has the best ones!

Voyage to use 7-car PTC trains in 2011
jdawg1998 replied to CoastersNSich's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Yeah, I'm just getting to this topic..... But aw man! This was the only way I was going to get my dad to take me to Holiday World this year! He didn't like how rough the Voyage was and he was disappointed in it....then I told him there would be new trains to make it smoother. Now, there's not........ -
This may have already been asked, but are they going to show us vertical construction or not?! I don't want to see just one part of the tower all the way until April 30. Edit: D'oh! Just now saw that three posts above mine this was already explained....sorry!

Hey guys! To rid you of offseason blues, I have a different kind of trip report. It's a trip report of me and EnterTRAINment Junction! If you haven't heard of it, please go to it sometime if you have the chance! If you want to read this, it will take you probably ten minutes, but, you don't have to! First, let me just start off with my report, then a review of it. I have been here before, but only to see the train display. This time was much different. So, my grandparents took me (my grandpa is a big trian guy) along with my little sister. Right away we started going through the train display, seeing coal mines, little towns, pioneers, and even a forest fire. The displays are split up from Old train times, to Middle train age, then to now. Very nice setup. About halfway through my sister and I went into "Imagination Junction", a place where children ages 2-8 can have lots of fun! She rode a little train that went around a fake tree at one mph for $1. Pointless, but she liked it. They also had a huge playset, which, I had more fun on than my sister. After the train display, I entered the funhouse. Gotta say, I've never liked them. But this was so interesting. First I went into the space funhouse. (review below). Next the mirror maze, clown college, and the curtain chaos. After that we ate some 25 cent hot dogs (a special sale was going on) and my my - great food for this place! REVIEWS Train Display - Best train display I've seen! Hills, tunnels, towns, and the littlest of details (such as racoons invading a trash can) were scattered around. I could have spent all day just looking at everything, admiring how realistic it looked. The modern train display was amazing. They actually made replicas of buildings, such as a Fed-Ex headquarters. They were so tall! You could also see the subway, if you crouched down. There was a little glass window with a subway! Amazing train display - this could be the only thing there and I would have a lot of fun. 10/10 Imagination Junction - Sure, it's for little kids, but it was a very nice kids area. The fort was clean as can be. Not one "gross" thing I found. For your conveinence they even had hand sanitizer outside the fort! There was also a small Thomas the Train Engine display for the kids, as well as an interactive train where you would control it. 8/10. Amazen Funhouse - Yes, it was a"maze"en. You enter in a circus like midway, with a Zoltar machine (the movie Big, anyone?). There was a very nice man who told me all the things I could go in. Great service! First was the space section. That was intense! The first part has flashing sparkling lights in a silver, narrow hallway. Enterting through different curtains, you see planets hanging from the ceiling, neon lights and cool space facts on signs. There's also a spot that makes you jump. And a really cool Vortex tunnel that makes you feel like you're spinning upside down. The last part is a simulation of a black hole. You have to walk through these airbag like things with your face and body squished between them! 10/10. Clown College - typical funhouse, but very cool. There are pictures of clowns and stuff, just for kids. It was all very colorful. There's a never ending corridor with mirrors. There's a really cool room that if you walk to one end you look smaller than at the other. The tilt room in it was really fun too. It was a challenge to walk up it. There was a bar you could hang from to simulate a trapeze artist. 7/10. Mirror/Curtain Maze - these were two different things, but this report is getting long! The mirror maze was very challenging - I eventually just found the entrance and walked out that way! The curtain maze was also hard, and if you found dead ends there would be a little message that would make fun of you. 8/10. So, I hope this tempts you to check this place out if you haven't already!

Dinosaurs Alive! is coming to Kings Island in 2011
jdawg1998 replied to CoastersRZ's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Well said. Heck, what if we had just gotten WindSeeker? Nobody would be complaining about us not having a new roller coaster. If you don't like this new attraction (*cough*me*cough*) then let's just forget about it. When KI opens this year, don't worry that it's there. Don't debate about it. Just go to your normal day at KI and don't be all mad at them for no reason. -
^I know. We're so bad hypocrites. Anyways, guys, stop complaining about the price! Just messin' around.
-
How do you know if it's an amazing attraction or not? You haven't been through it. I meant thrilling actually. Guys, I don't want to be called a hypocrite (which I was called earlier) but it's not the actual $5 that bothers me. It's the fact that they made such a big deal out of it. I didn't think it would be a ride; no, I did not. Based on your guys' opinions and inferring, I had a gut feeling it wouldn't be. I just don't get why this would cost money. I just don't.
