  1. My roommate made a suggestion that never even crossed my mind. The Coney Mall sign is gone, effectively removing any observable barrier between Coney Mall and Oktoberfest. Not everyone rides rides. Not everyone sees shows. Not everyone eats in the park. One thing that virtually everyone in the park experiences is the park itself. The image on Twitter was of Coney Mall. The rides that Don has tweeted images of are in Coney Mall (yes, Firehawk, too. X-Base is in Coney Mall). What if the "two things" in question are Coney Mall and Oktoberfest? Could it be that they are being consolidated into one new themed area? *DISCLAIMER* Those who know don't talk and those who talk don't know. What I mean is, this is SPECULATION. I have no insider information. I just pointed some things out to my roommate and he came up with an idea that seems to match the clues that we have.
  2. Been seeing weird Tapatalk issues. My notifications have been coming in bursts every few minutes, as opposed to just rolling in as they happen like I'd expect. That said, I don't know that it's necessarily a KIC issue. Notifications in general have been lagging for me for all apps, so this could very well be an issue with my phone and not at all KIC-related.
  3. Those who know don't talk, and those who talk don't know, as is often repeated here. My prediction is that something is being added and/or something is getting removed and/or something is being changed, and we'll find out the specifics tomorrow. And you can quote me on that if I'm right
  4. I'm noticing that a very prominent user who typically makes great use of the "like" button is not doing so today in this thread. Interpret that as you wish
  5. Not that I'm really qualified to comment, as I never got a chance to ride Son of Beast, but I've heard very mixed reviews regarding its layout. Some really loved it. Some found it to be incredibly mediocre. EDIT: Nevermind, you were suggesting a redesigned layout. That would be something entirely different.
  6. I will happily enjoy not having you in front of me in line for the third-best woodie in Ohio. The only ones I like more are the other Streak and Tornado.
  7. And I'd speculate that this was one of the large reasons that they introduced dining plans in the way that they did. By not including a soda, they can offer you a dining plan while still having a potential upsell - a high-profit upsell at that. Basically, sell the guests a dining plan, knowing that food will be less profitable, and hope that enough of them will buy a soda with their meal to offset that difference in profit - all under the guise of offering a deal to the frequent visitors. I know that I myself have purchased a soda with my dining plan meal a few times. The park went from getting no revenue out of me on food and drinks to getting a few bucks here and there for drinks. My in-park SPENDING has gone up considerably with the introduction of dining plans. But the question for the park to consider is how much my having a dining plan is COSTING them and whether there has been a net gain in profit. Doubling your revenues is futile if at the same time you triple your expenses.
  8. If we're putting in any Mack attractions, I'd prefer something a bit more... mousey.
  9. IMO, the best night rides in the park are Banshee and Adventure Express. Beast, however, is far and away the ride that is most improved by riding at night.
  10. I got lectured over the PA for snapping the flyers on opening day this year at Hartland. It must have been frightening the hundreds of people who were in the park that day. Or the zero people (excluding me) who were on or in line for the flyers.
  11. The day I was at Canada's Wonderland, I set the high score for the day on their Boo Blasters. Good times... I guess.
  12. I've heard that at some point they had a roll of Christmas music for Winterfest.
  13. And the other, being a Sky pilot, must remain slim and slender in order to properly fit in the cockpit of his vessel.
  14. I was very hot in my suit that day. Interpret that as you wish.
  15. Since this is a thread about RMC, I hardly think we need to worry about what does and doesn't count as a wooden coaster. They've established with Goliath, Outlaw Run, and now Lightning Rod that they don't worry with such details. Just call it what you want, apparently that's how coasters are classified these days anyway.
  16. Vortex Bat Racer Adventure Express Banshee Beast (at night) Firehawk Woodstock Express Beast (in the daylight) Flight of Fear Diamondback Backlot Stunt Coaster Flying Ace Aerial Chase Great Pumpkin Coaster The lovely picnic tables next to the fountains in front of I-Street LaRosa's Invertigo And no, there is no trolling here. My opinions on coasters are not usually popular, but they are always genuine.
  17. And even some other Bisch-Rocco scooters are not the same. Looking at you, Holiday World...
  18. Front-left from your perspective viewing the picture. Front right from my perspective on the train.Put another way, I'm the skinny guy in what would be the front passenger seat if it were a car.
  19. Hmm, an hour and a half of night rides? That sounds fun. I wish I could go. It sounds like such a great time, I'd even consider wearing my suit. Unfortunately, I have a date tonight and won't be able to make it. Oh the... Irony?
  20. Wow, between this and Storm Chaser, it's going to be hard to decide what's my favorite new steel coaster of 2016!
  21. Hey now. I'll have you know that I had a wonderful time at the prom, both years. And I was an ace at Dodgeball. It's not a game of athleticism, it's a game of strategy. Also, Dodgeball was spelled wrong in the third meme. And doing stuff like that for attention? No. For the lols? Yes. And because I look fantastic in my suit and don't get nearly enough opportunities to wear it. Interestingly, these pictures were only shared on here and on my private Facebook. So I'm very curious indeed who decided it needed to be a meme. - homestar92, a good sport, fortunately.
  22. The compositions are likely public domain, however, that particular recording may not be, as the performers would hold a copyright on their performance. Other news, just thought I'd share this video from a friend of mine who used to post here. Sadly, YouTube's compression seems to have pretty much destroyed the audio. I was present when the footage was being edited and the audio was a lot cleaner before going onto YouTube. Ah well. Still a nice little sample of the carousel.
  23. There has been what appears to be an accident on 71-S. Traffic is stopped for about 4 miles before the exit to get on 275. If leaving the park headed south, seek an alternate route. Things look bad. Thoughts and prayers to any victims.
  24. Wait... These have single rider lines? Shoot... That would have been nice to know a couple weeks ago when I was at the park and was a single rider...
