  1. Where does it refer to it. Can you provide something more that it has the abbreviation for an inverted coaster along with a bunch of random other numbers. And we don't know 100% that that track is for us(even though i think it is, with the matching numbers) If you looked at a single Diamondback support, you would have no idea what it would go to. We are all just presuming it is an invert. Hate double posting, but there is one proper response to this. If you looked at a single piece of track for Diamondback, you COULD tell that it is not for an Invert or a flyer. The crossties are different. Edit: Just realized you said "support" not "track". Carry on then...
  2. I'm going to add something here, off topic, but it needs to be said. There have been Intamin fanboys that are very much trolls. Intaminisnumber1 was one of them. He has now been banned. There are Intamin fans who are not trolls, just happen to really enjoy a manufacturer that many among us don't care as much for. YoungStud falls into this group. There are B&M fanboys who are being jerks to the Intamin fans. There are too many to name. There are B&M Fans who have engaged in coherent debate and largely remained clean and appropriate. Again, too many to name. People like YoungStud are valuable members of this forum. They allow us to have conversation, which is what a forum is all about. This place would be really really lame if everyone always agreed about everything. And honestly, I don't think anyone here dislikes Intamin as much as we let on. I think we just like to have some fun with YoungStud. Fortunately, he seems to be a good sport about it. And that is why I, for one, enjoy his company. So thank you, YoungStud. I hope your wildest dreams come true and a reliable, innovative, and forceful Intamin is built at KI one day. B&M Inverts are my all-time favorite non-wooden, non-Arrow coasters, so I'm looking forward to Thursday's announcement. I understand it's probably not as much fun for you. But either way, I hope you stick around, so that we can continue to poke fun at your love of Intamin (all in good fun, of course!) And now, back to our regularly scheduled decoding.
  3. I stand before the council accused of being a B&M fanboy. How cute. Afterburn is the only B&M coaster in my personal top 10. All the same, that means that B&M has one more coaster in my top 10 than Intamin does. Sorry, I know this is 3 pages late. Just got home from work.
  4. I don't remember any fatalities on any Intamin coasters do you? Their coasters aren't made by people like the Dinn Corporation who lots of wood riders used to think had a flawless safety record until that awful Texas Giant incident. I think we're forgetting that we would have quite possibly had SEVERAL fatalities on an Intamin ride VERY recently if some heroic park guests hadn't jumped the fence to flip the overturned boat on Shoot the Rapids a couple weeks ago. #BoatsTooSmall
  5. Since the website has made us question this even further... If it were accurate, could it technically be some sort of weird reverse-psychology based red herring?
  6. Take the dummy website. Replace every instance of "wing" with "inverted" Almost everything it says is still plausible. Seems to me like a good way to test your page without revealing anything. I think the Wing coaster was used BECAUSE of what Dennis Spiegel (is that his name?) theorized in the news report. Since that report, the GP expects a wing coaster. Reinforcing their incorrect assumption would be a good way to surprise them even more than they would already have been. Cedar Fair isn't dumb. They wouldn't leak the website three days early twice.
  7. Other than the footers... we have no evidence of anything. So if you use the only evidence we have, its an invert. I can see what youre saying but you could also consider Dons tweets as evidence as he is our only source of 100% true information. Im not convinced his hints are hinting at what we are focused on though. Just trying to connect the dots Part of Don's job is to throw us red herrings to make sure that nobody feels 100% for sure that they know what it is on the announcement day. You want my opinion? Had those blueprints never gotten out, I really, truly don't think that Bat page would have even been made. I think its sole purpose was to make us doubt, since on this board, many people were feeling very sure it would be an invert named Banshee. I still believe it will be an invert named Banshee.
  8. I think it's safe to say no matter WHAT it turns out to be. How many theme parks have fan forums that explode with their PR director's every word?
  9. That's Gatekeeper! Boy, it's cOLD in here, isn't it? Sorry, that was said a few pages ago, I was referring more to the numerical stats.
  10. I think pretty accurate. the only difference is that i think it will be 200 plus feet. why only go 199' if you can go one more foot and be the first inverted hyper coaster? Because if there are inversions, it isn't a hypercoaster.
  11. Direct your attention to this photo that was posted earlier: If we do not get a wing coaster, what do you think the odds are that these height, speed, and inversion statistics are correct for what we DO get?
  12. Perhaps this was a means to stir the pot and AVOID a Gatekeeper-like fiasco. Let's assume, for the sake of argument, that we're getting an Invert named Banshee that follows the infamous blueprints. Maybe Don feared we had settled too comfortably on the correct (by the assumptions made in this scenario) identity of the ride, and so, to hype it up more and AVOID what CP had happen last year, he threw a curveball so that we'd be more encouraged to come to the announcement Thursday. By that logic, throwing together a logo and (very) simple dummy webpage actually seems like a VERY good use of his/someone in the PR department's time. Well played, Don. Well played indeed.
  13. Three months ago, I would have doubted VERY much that it was a nod to us. With recent trends in Don's behavior, I'd say it's quite possible that he's trying to stir the metaphorical KICentral pot. He's probably sitting at home, popcorn in hand, refreshing this thread every couple of minutes for sheer entertainment.
  14. I think all these DIVErsions are just more hints that we're getting a Dive Machine. Homestar92, heading for the door...
  15. I can imagine the preparations for this announcement have made this week simultaneously one of the best and one of the worst Don has ever worked.
  16. On the subject of similarly-named coasters being a trademark violation, explain this: http://rcdb.com/69.htm http://rcdb.com/121.htm Both are operating. I've ridden both within the last couple weeks.
  17. I seriously doubt anyone has any serious doubt (lol) but Don has basically, through lack of words, admitted that this is a coaster. Note this conversation: https://twitter.com/KingsIslandPR/status/364491277024239616 He did not use the word "attraction" when asked about "the new coaster". I think anyone with eyes can see that it is a coaster, but does this constitute an admission?
  18. Oh lord, I'm so far behind... But at any rate, isn't the 27th the first Sunday after the first Saturday of the season? It couldn't POSSIBLY open to the public that day, as CinFin has their buyout that day every year.
  19. The announcement will be after close, so in Theory, nobody should be walking to any rides.
  20. Do any B&M Inverts have a zero-car? Someone else had said it would be cool if we had themed trains like Gatekeeper, but I'm pretty sure no B&M invert that I know of has a zero-car. Perhaps there's a first time for everything. Or we could just see themed wheel guards like on Afterburn.
  21. There are bunches! You can see many of their trademarks here: http://www.trademarkia.com/company-cedar-fair-lp-222594-page-1-2 The Fastpay one intrigues me. Could we be seeing something like Holicash at Cedar Fair parks in the future? Edit: Apparently Dorney Park is already test marketing this. Interesting. I doubt I'd use it, but more available amenities can never be bad.
  22. OK guys, so I overlaid the blueprint on Google Earth and drew out the path with the ruler. With a totally flat path, we're looking at around 2,560 feet. So we know that this coaster is NO LESS than that. I'm going to assume about 15-20% beyond that (For my calculation, I'm using 18%) would put us in the realm of our actual length. And so, we have a ride on our hands with a length somewhere around 3,000 feet. Give or take. This is extremely non-precise speculation with a heaping helping of guesstimation. Again, this all assumes the blueprints are legit, which I personally believe they are.
  23. On a different sort of note, just for fun, I drew a path following Vortex's track with the Google Earth ruler. it came out to 3264.21 feet (assumming a flat path with no elevation changes). Vortex's actual length is 3,800 feet. So the difference is roughly 15-16%. We could use similar numbers and the scale of the blueprint, and we could probably calculate a rough range for the coaster's length. Anyone with the proper know-how want to take a stab at it?
  24. Because if you look approximately 400 yards to the southeast, you'll see that we already have a flyer... And we do not have a full-circuit Invert, at least not a major one outside of Planet Snoopy with high speeds and inversions.
  25. http://www.quickmeme.com/meme/3tr1ov/ Hey! Ed Alonzo is great and all. BUT CAN HE FLIP YOU UPSIDE-DOWN 6 TIMES? NO HE CAN NOT!
