  1. Magnum is better than Diamondback in every conceivable way. Just my opinion, but I'm quite sure I'm nowhere NEAR alone in that thought.
  2. Do I spy water dripping from above rider's heads on the first Arrow Suspended Coaster? (On the lift hill specifically) Some things clearly never change
  3. I suppose I discussed the Hurler without a discussion about my own personal worst ride. And that's hard to answer with one answer, so I'll have to justify something with a ride I like. For me, I have literally never ridden a coaster that I found completely unenjoyable. All of the coasters I've ridden have some aspect that I can say something positive about. That having been said, I CAN tell you my worst coaster-riding moment. Fan of Arrow that I am, it was very heartbreaking for me when I crested the lift hill on Phantom's Revenge and saw those beautiful, wonderful, square-ish Arrow cross-ties transition to those ugly, round, flimsy-looking Morgan ones. I ADORE Phantom's Revenge, but I love Arrow Loopers more, and I do wish Phantom's Revenge could have existed without the loss of an Arrow. And for those who haven't been to Kennywood since 2009, yes, only the brake run to the top of the lift is Arrow. The track from the top of the lift to where the Arrow Track formerly ended has since been Morganized. The scaffolding-style Arrow supports are still present in these parts, however. It is quite strange and heartbreaking to see Morgan track on top of those beautiful Arrow supports. Ignoring the ride's history and judging only by experience, however, Phantom's Revenge is my second favorite coaster over 200 feet (which, in Phantom's case, sparks another interesting debate entirely )
  4. One of the prizes you can win at the Coney Mall Guess Your Weight game is a souvenir cup, the prize that keeps on giving! They give away the ones shaped like Snoopy's bird pal, Woodstock. In my opinion, for soft-drink drinkers, very much worth the $5 IF you win the very first time you play (or the second time for non-passholders) Homestar92, now proud owner of both a standard red 2013 cup AND a 2013 Woodstock-shaped cup. Also a 2011 blue WindSeeker cup... somewhere... I seem to have misplaced that...
  5. *points at construction fence* "The Rock n' Roller Coaster used to be there, but they moved it over by Firehawk and renamed it so they could build Banshee." I have no words...
  6. Four days. So we've made it longer than them XD But to quote Shakespeare, "What's in a name? That which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet." And if the dame did get changed, then congratulations, everyone who bought a shirt now has a collector's item lol
  7. I thought it was very comfortable, lol. The seats were very nicely padded. It honestly was like sitting in a La-Z-Boy recliner, IMO. In fact, I thought the Woodstock Express at Carowinds was by far the roughest coaster in the park. Certainly not as well-kept as KI's version. I believe that as of 2012, the "Do not stand up" sign still had "Da Rules" on it, indicating that it was never fully de-themed from the Fairly Odd Coaster. EDIT: Referring to Carowinds Hurler again.
  8. Either the Carowinds version of Hurler is a very different experience than the KD one, or a LOT of people have a really awful pain tolerance. I rode the Carowinds Hurler and it wasn't rough. Not even remotely.
  9. I would trade away KI for Firefly not being cancelled. Ok, maybe not. But I'd consider it at least.
  10. I'll be there tomorrow. Don't know what I'll be wearing, but if you see a tall white guy with glasses, feel free to say Hi! Odds are I'll wear my Vortex, Banshee, Holiday World, or Carowinds shirt. All of my other coaster shirts are black.
  11. Nothing wrong with that. My second favorite Arrow looper comes out over the midway. And I'm not talking about the obvious one. The one I'm referring to is blue, but it's also yellow and orange too. EDIT: you meant "stick out" as in, be noticeable I suppose. Oh well. The one I'm regerring to sticks out by both definitions, lol
  12. Build a new lake so that any guests who complain can receive the Roller Coaster Tycoon treatment. Live the rest of my life behind bars, yet oddly satisfied with myself.
  13. Because that worked so well for Eric Cartman lol
  14. My college's colors are Black and Magenta. I'm glad this didn't get black supports now that I think of that. Otherwise I'd end up calling it "The Muskie Coaster"
  15. But what I was getting at is that we may yet end up with tunnels.
  16. Fun fact that is a little off topic: Gold Striker and Leviathan didn't have any tunnels in their animations either. Just some food for thought.
  17. Take it from someone who used to be terrified of coasters and now loves them. Have his girlfriend go with. For me, at least, the need to look Macho overpowered the phobia, and the rest, as they say, is history.
  18. Restating everyone else here, but for me, I would be very upset at the loss of any of the Arrows. The only coaster that I wouldn't really miss if it were removed are Firehawk and Backlot. As flats go, I wouldn't mind losing Congo Falls too badly. I prefer Race for Your Life Charlie Brown anyway. All that said, losing either would be a tragedy all the same. The loss of any ride means the loss of somebody's favorite ride. The only thing that would make me shred my Gold Pass and never return would be the loss of The Beast. Good thing that won't happen for the foreseeable future, if ever.
  19. Soak City needs another signature attraction to compliment the ProSlide Tornado. Probably with support for Fast Lane. (See Worlds of Fun.) My only problem with a water coaster would be that Soak City would probably close for weather whenever I'd try to go over there to marathon it. I believe I came up with the name "Splash Lane" ages ago. If anyone from Cedar Fair is reading this, you can take that name, and all I want is a free platinum pass for life
  20. I would play Ozzy as well, but not that song. The obvious choice is Ozzy Osbourne's "Let me Hear You Scream"
  21. I don't mind uphill trims on airtime coasters, as they help to emphasize the airtime. But it's not looking like Airtime will be Banshee's big sell like it was with Diamondback, so hopefully, no trims.
  22. Nope, 40 degrees is exactly as steep as Diamondback's lift. http://www.kiDiamondback.com/public/latest/blog/index.cfm?entry=7b614318-2c80-4475-a322-12401a5b1afa But it does seem a lot steeper when you're on it. I can't believe The Beast's lift is only 20 degrees...
  23. I wouldn't mind seeing Slingshot move to X-base. It would fit the theme there. But of course, it would still be visible in the video if they were planning to move it there and if the video mattered at all for that. Overall, unless Banshee NEEDED that area, I don't see Slingshot moving. And if Bashee DID need that area, you would see Slingshot moved, not removed. No way the park would get rid of a successful upcharge. Thunder Alley was probably not making much since the karts were gas-powered and you had to pay two or three attendants to run it. Slingshot makes money hand-over-fist, or at least it sure looks that way.
  24. Different subject, but didn't someone figure out that the lift hill was 200 feet long on the blueprint? Math tells me that we're looking at a hill that's just under 40 degrees. This lift will be very nearly as steep as Diamondback's, if the person who said that and my math are both correct.
  25. I was thinking about to. I read that it was going to have three trains. How are they going to run three trains no Mid Course Break run ?? One on the chain lift, one in the station, one on the course/final brakes. I'm sure the brake run will hold two trains as well if needed, as well as one being in the station.
