The park would definitely not be the same without The Racer. Love it or hate it, it's one ride that is very much the same as it was when the park opened in 1972. It's an icon of the park right up there with the Eiffel Tower.

I think this song is pretty creepy. I fully expect it to play throughout the park throughout Halloween Haunt.

I have a lot of respect for whatever unlucky employee has to climb the spiral staircase up to that one section of track on Diamondback...

I haven't ridden many coasters, but I'm really hesitant to go on The Racer again. It is just a bit too rough for me. ...Plus my lapbar restraint somehow tightened one notch furter than it was supposed to in the middle of the ride. Never had that happen before. There are certain circumstances in which I would welcome something pressing that hard on my thighs, but in the middle of The Racer is not one of those circumstances.

Hello there! I apparently registered on here a few years ago but never posted. I was watching Taft's 1972 Kings Island construction video and noticed that they specified "two high-speed elevators" for the Tower. I'm assuming that this was never actually carried out? Also, when did the lower observation deck close, and was it a direct result of the legendary fatality involving the elevator?
