Well we can probably say if these efforts don't work, The Son of Beast will be no more.

Well I'm happy they are trying save the ride. It is a world record breaking coaster.

I would hope not. I can't see how a family of four can afford the pricing inside the park.

Well unless the trim the heck out of it. Let's hope they don't add a trim to the first drop like Mean Streak. But I think the new trains will help out alot. I'm sure the thing will go thru lots of testing with the new trains, before anyone is premitted to get on board. But I can't wait to ride the new and improved Son of Beast. I just hope they get it right this time.

I just hope we'll see prices inside the park drop too. The prices for drinks this year was way too high.

Nothing to make it unique? It's still the tallest and fastest wooden rolleroaster. Also the second longest wooden coaster after The Beast.

Better to be safe then sorry I guess. But I think if the rest of ride becomes a lot better, then losing the loop may not be as bad. I don't know, I guess I will have to form my opinion after I ride the loop less version of the ride.

I also miss KI. Can't wait till April 21st. Hopefully Son of Beast will be open. My 27th B-day is on the 20th of April, what a great B-day Present that would be.

Of course they would. Cedar Fair now owns the rights to all of ride names from Paramount Parks too (not talking about movie names). What I mean is Vortex, Flight of Fear stuff like that. Also Kings Island lowers admission to $44.99 for 2007, but buy now and you can get an e-ticket for only $29.95.

I have heard Vortex lossing a wheel before during the ride. I'm sure it could happen, you just don't want an axle to fail, then you would have a problem.

I hope we find out soon. But I'd much rather bet a Mountain Dew LOL.

Son of Beast THE WORLDS TALLEST FASTEST NON LOOPING WODDEN ROLLER COOASTER IN THE WORLD LOL but I like The Worlds Tallest and Fastest wooden coaster, but would prefer also the Only Looping Wooden coaster. RIP Son of Beast loop (2000 - 2006) you will be missed.

As of right now, there isn't a Gold Pass.

What an easy way to add a new attraction to the park, and no spend a whole lot of money. They are already spending millions to get Son of Beast fixed.

That an interesting quetsion Elmer. What would have happend to Son of Beast if Cedar Fair didn't take over the park? Probably not this much work. But I can bet if all of this work doesn't fix the problems, this could be the last year for Son of Beast '07.

I agree with what was said earlier, If buy getting new trains we have to lose the loop, then lets hope the rest of the ride will ride the best it ever has.

People are also saying that X-Flight will be going to MIA? If that is true, why is the land being cleard behind FoF? I hope it's for X-Flight or something bigger. If we are lossing a loop on Son of Beast, we need something with a loop, X-Flight would be great.

I agree. Okay so we know now that Son of Beast will be loop less come 2007. I wonder how long it's going to take to complete the rest of the modifications and have this beast ready to roll.

I'm a little disapointed at the removal of the loop. But whatever it takes I guess do it. I just hope they do something decent going into the second helix.

I was looking at the WCPO webcam again, and I noticed a box looking thing sitting on Vortex at the turnaround to the block break. Anyone know what this is?

Well considering they haven't even removed X-Flight from GL yet. They could be pushing for a late Spring early Summer openining. If we are getting X-Flight I would rather them take there time, reconstructing it as to not have a bunch of problems once it is opened.

When do you guys think they will tell us what's going on?

Now we just need the offical press release from KI. But I would say X-flight is coming to KI for sure now.

I'm just thinking out loud here, as Fearfest '07 is a long way off. But I could see Fearfest '07 being totally different, but it could be the best one yet.
