Anyway back on topic. That article from Fox 19 is interesting. Seems to be some conflicting stories. They really need to take their time. Son of Beast has been closed for about 6 weeks already. If its closed for the rest of the season then it's okay by me.

The Beast has had brakes for years. The only differences between the skid brakes and the magnetic brakes are, the skid brakes slowed the train down more gradually, while the magnetic brakes slow it down much faster. The speed of the ride is unchanged. I'm sure back in '79 it ran a whole lot faster.

I doubt it. They do have monitors though in the control booth. On SDAHC though they do have a separate room and an ops watches the monitors.

They be doing it, for the ops to look at the line and watch people. Inside the control booth they are screens that show what is going on in the line.

That sounds pretty cool. It nice to see that some parks are not afraid to build a nice thrill ride. I really hope PKI gets a new thrill ride, i'm not holding my breath though for 07, but hopefully in 08. Maybe we will get that B&M we all want. LOL

Just something I noticed. If you click on Season Pass now on pki.com the page is blank. Hmmm. They must be redoing the page to include prices or something. I wonder if the Maxx will look like this. Cedar Fair Maxx Pass

I'm sure they will be by next year. I wouldn't doubt if the the price for a one day ticket isn't dropped to 39.99 for next year too. And still your pass would be paid for in 2 visits. Well the regural PKI pass anway.

I can't beleive how close I was on the prices, before they said what the prices where. Pretty good huh! LOL

Well they are not even close to finishing testing yet. They are going to make sure what happend back in July never happens again. I just hope though the ride returns in 2007.

Yes if you renew your 2006 season pass by October 29th you would get free parking, no matter if you get the regural PKI Pass or the Cedar Fair Maxx pass. Free parking is only vaild at Paramount's Kings Island.

If memory serves me correct, PKI was always the first Paramount Park to put next years passes on sale. Always right before Labor Day.

I guess we won't find out the prices till Friday. But I would guess, that just a Kings Island pass would be around 80 dollars. The Cedar Fair Maxx pass will probably be $130 dollars. But that's just my guess, I have no idea.

I've been 8 times so far. I hope to go a few more times though before the end of the season.

Dang you posted as I was editing my post. Yeah I meant short and not empty LOL. I work in retail, and if they suspect anything out of the ordianary they will watch you like a hawk. It's amazing what people will do.

I'm just amazed that she was able to steal that much money. You would think with the drawer coming up short they would have been keeping an eye on her.

I'm not sure what the plans for Congo Falls. Have you seen the roof though of the station? It needs to be replaced pretty bad. PKD got rid of Diamond Falls which opened in 1985 a few years ago. Not sure if PKI will get rid of Congo Falls or not, it harldy ever has a line, but on hot days alot of people do ride it. Congo Falls AKA Amazon Falls opened in 1988 so it is 18 years old now.

Yes but if they want to reuse the old Flight Commander que, then they will have to knock down the concrete the put up the block the stairs going up to the platform. I still miss Flight Commander.

Yes that was the day of the concert. I'm sure the park got busy in the afternoon. That was always my experience when I've visited on a concert day.

Yes Top Gun is rusting in spots. Top Gun needs a paint job bad. I'm sure hope if a name change is in store for Top Gun then a paint job is too. Cedar Fair normally takes good care of there rides, so I'm sure a paint job will be coming soon for Top Gun.

I don't think it would be cool to see any ride burn to the ground. Yes some rides are better then some, but PKI wouldn't be the same if we lost Top Gun or anything else for that matter. PKI has lost too many rides in the past few years.

Just as long as a ride removal is not in store then I'll be happy. They really need to do something with the old Flight Pad next to FoF, that looks tacky over there.
