  1. I've made about 25 visits and have yet to reach level 2. Probably spent about $100 in park food throughout those visits. At this point, I've pretty much given up hope on getting anywhere beyond the original free soda wristband.
  2. Holiday Horror was, once again, by far my favorite. It's a clever concept and just feels like they went the extra mile with decorations. I saw Obama and possibly Romney in the election area. The Easter bunny was present, too. Mysteria... *sigh* I really wanted to like it. I gave it another chance after last year's experience. It's essentially the same. There were some caged prop monsters that I didn't remember from last year, but I might have missed them at the time. The people we were grouped with didn't seem to care for it, either. Madame Fatale was well worth the wait. They went all out on props and it was cool to walk the grounds of a room I had only ever seen upside down.
  3. I was there and I've never seen it that busy, either. Luckily, my group found some seating next to the Scrambler to get a front-row view of the fireworks. I only managed to get in two rides that night, but had fun anyway. Walking through the party in the pool was surreal. I'd go again if this event returns next year.
  4. Perhaps, "Ew" would be more appropriate?
  5. Did anyone else pay close attention to the signs at the park advertising the Dead Inn Feast? One of the menu items is apparently "snap pees". Oops!
  6. So... uh, any news on this, yet? Or do we need to keep assuming Son of Beast is being moved to Coney?
  7. Is this video what you mean about the Diamondback pond or are you referring to something else? This pond seems similar to what is actually there. Found the Italian Job: Stunt Track video... looks like the animation team got a little carried away with the helicopter scene. Other than that, it appears relatively similar to the final ride.
  8. I saw the last two shows of the season hoping to catch the rumored new magic trick. The 5:00 show was the standard show, but the 7:00 show featured an extra trick and dance routine. Somehow, as if by magic , Ed Alonzo and the Ringleader pulled all of the other dancers out of a single box for the extra trick. The kid volunteer was hilarious and re-assembled "Magic Mike". Got to meet Ed Alonzo and a few of the other performers after the show. Very nice and professional.
  9. Someone in another thread (jokingly) suggested Son of Beast was being moved to Coney Island... hmmmmmmm
  10. Thanks for the update! I'm significantly more interested in tours knowing that there's some educational value to it. Like I said, I've "toured" coasters at other parks and been a little let down by the lack of a tour guide.
  11. Has the Adventure Express line ever been two hours? Even on busy days, I've never waited more than 30 minutes.
  12. It was open yesterday (July 31, 2012).
  13. Is there a guide explaining hows things work and discussing facts? I've been on a few coaster tours at other parks where they basically open the gate for 20 minutes, you take a look around and leave. Would love one that actually talks about the history of the ride.
  14. I hope the removal doesn't disrupt business as usual for Flight Deck or Adventure Express.
  15. A big thumbs up to Don and Kings Island for taking the time to post this news here. It says something about their appreciation of park guests.
  16. A bird slammed into a rider's face? No, a 128mph roller coaster filled with people slammed into a bird. Based on the amount of bugs stuck to my face after riding Top Thrill Dragster, I can only faintly imagine how horrifying of an experience this must be. Hope the rider's okay!
  17. So much for that Texas Giant treatment theory...
  18. They're bringing back one of the old haunted house rides?
  19. General admission tickets, I can understand not being linked to Fun Perks. Seems like upgrading a standard season pass to a Platinum Pass could be tied to the Fun Perks system as extra incentive, though.
  20. How do you figure? I've been to the park 16 times this seaon and am only at 74% on Level 1. That includes food purchases, but does not include my upgrade to a Platinum Pass. No perks for spending an extra $100, apparently...
  21. Don't suppose you could point us to the right spots? Seriously, though, a small classic-style wooden coaster could go a long way at Coney. Would at least draw in some more enthusiasts.
  22. I hope the $20.5million Haunt attraction is back this year... Wolf Pack.
