  1. I don’t see Cedar Fair investing a lot in terms of theming into a water park. They would probably do little things like signage and stuff to add to the experience but nothing big. Water parks don’t need a lot to theming to attract guests (not that I don’t want it). I think a lot of people go for a more local water park experience rather than any type destination experience. If you live in Columbus your probably going to just go to zoombezie bay over driving down to Soak City. Where as something like Kings Island people would travel further to. There is an exception with the Orlando water parks as people see those as tourist destinations and want more of an experience. I think most people arnt looking for an experience at a local water park.
  2. As I said in my post. It is called Cedar Point shores I haven’t been there though. I know it got repainted slides which ours already where when they changed it to Soak City in 2012. It’s good to hear there were some thematic changes.
  3. Cedar Fair has been stepping away from the Soak City branding recently with the changing to Cedar Point shores and Carowinds Carolina Harbor. We could see a more personalized water park soon. I doubt this would come with much of a theming upgrade though.
  4. Theres a couple of spots that new attractions can fit without major expansion. The space between the two wave pools at the bottom left could be used for a water coaster or a lazy river if they moved the access road. The space next to Mondo Monsoon or whatever it's called could fit a medium sized slide. and If they are willing to do a little bit of clearing they could remove the set of enclosed slides at the top right and fit in a water coaster there.
  5. I don't spend a ton of time at the water park but occasionally I do spend a couple of nice days there. I like what they have to offer, a decent selection of slides. But every time I go Soak City is just always so crowded. The addition of the second wave pool was much needed and really helped with crowds, however, the capacity of water slides at Soak City is not good. If Cedar Fair wants to grow Soak City at all I believe their absolute best bet right now would be a family round raft water coaster similar to Mammoth at Holiday World. Mammoth has really good capacity and even includes a single rider line for when the line gets long. I think this addition would bring in a bunch more people to Soak City and encourage people to want to come more as they wouldn't have to wait in such long lines. This could be an opportunity for the park to make more money because of it being such a large waterpark attraction they could include Fast Lane giving waterpark goers more incentive to purchase. Maybe offer a waterpark only Fast Lane at a discount? Other than that I think the Park could really use a second lazy river. The line they have for the one can get crazy busy on hot days and no one wants to wait in a long line for a pool like that. A swim-up bar could also be a nice addition for extra revenue. I am not trying to sound like I am bashing Soak City or anything. It's a respectable waterpark but I feel like for its attendance it needs to grow a little. Those two additions would both really help manage crowds better. What are your thoughts on Soak City? Do you think they need expanding or is it fine how it is?
  6. I wonder what they are planning on doing with that pile of dirt to the left as you walk into area 72. Hopefully some theming.
  7. ^ I’m not sure if that really said anything different. I’m not saying they’ll open in May but Cedar Fair is actively hiring an rehiring trying to fill all open positions to get to where the parks could open in May. They are making sure they can open as soon as they can
  8. Because some times you get a big discount, which is what ended up happening. Same situation different model. The Bat failed. Kings Island got a discount on Vortex.
  9. I learned my lesson already. You do not try and argue with him. You do not try and reason with him. He will continually avoid your replies and continue spouting the same thing over and over. It’s not worth it.
  10. Imagine riding a rollercoaster standing sideways like this. That could intense. I have no idea how the restraints would look and if B&M is being that literal with the term surf coaster but it sure would be awesome.
  11. I was watching a video on youtube that showed that B&M filed for a Trademark for an attraction called a surf coaster. This will most likely be a new offering of a rollercoaster. Any guesses and what this could be? Looking at all of B&M's rides they all use the same kind of track with either their regular track model or their inverted track models. With the only differences being the size of the tracks. Almost all of B&M's different models rely on different trains not changes to track. So I don't see that changing with whatever this is. Video found here:
  12. Kings Dominion is getting its Drop Tower repainted and parts of Flight of Fear retracked. I would like to see both of these at Kings Island as well.
  13. Compare that photo to this one from years prior they made the effort to remove those tree's as well as the chainlink fence so I would assume they are doing something.
  14. the games buildings in the center of coney mall have been repainted and It looks like the main games attached to the arcade have also received a paint job.
  15. I believe that has been disproven on this forum before.
  16. The trim is still most likely off. Also isn’t it true that they usually start testing with hard wheels (forget what they are made of) then determine the type of wheels they will use later in the testing period. But also the ride hasn’t warmed up. Basically just saying there’s a lot of variables still in play for ride speed. Still looks very quick right now which is a good sign.
  17. that's because he didn't say anything. He just quoted someone else.
  18. I’ll be sure not to share it with you then
  19. ^ive been saying this whole time talking about recording exclusively off property and not with a drone. That should be known by now by all (hopefully) that it shouldn’t be done.
  20. I wasn’t trying to start an argument with anyone. I just wanted a piece of evidence to back up a claim that was being made on here. So asking, let’s say I take video of Orion testing off of Kings Island property am I allowed to post?
  21. That’s a reach. That would be like the bengals constructing a new stadium and telling people not to watch. Tell me explicitly where Kings Island asked us not to. I’m not talk about enter onto the pickup or anything like that I get it. Where have they said not to record Orion from off property? Telling us to get official information from them is you reaching.
  22. And if they are in fact asking you to not record there 300 foot rollercoaster which can be seen from well around mason then they are in fact out of line.
  23. ^When has the park asked you not to video tape them. They asked not to fly over or step on park property
