  1. There are already POV's available, most likely in better quality then what yours will turn out to be. Whats the point of yet another POV when better quality ones are out there?
  2. I know what they are, but how many people in the parks know that? (General Public)
  3. The GP would mostly think of Gemini as a wood coaster. I mean to just look at it you'd say its wood.
  4. I'm talking about the same ride, where one person could view it as steel with wood supports, but someone else may say its wood with steel track. Think Gemini as an example. There is no differance other than who you ask.
  5. Whats the differance between a steel coaster with wood supports and a wood coaster with steel track?
  6. If its a laminate of wood/steel, then its wooden. Gemini, Adventure Express, and New Texas Giant use track thats entirely steel on wood structure. Its as much a woodie as Beast or Racer in my opinion.
  7. Wabash Cannonball was actually stored at Old Indiana for a while. Six Flags owned it and had planned on reopening the park from what I heard. I heard they sold the land for a nature preserve. Not sure where the coasters went, I believe they had 5 or 6 stored there.
  8. My first was Montagness Russes at Old Indiana. The first major coaster for me was Shockwave, SFGAm.
  9. Heres an idea I have for a new coaster and what to do with SOB. "Beast's Revenge". A brand new B&M giga. The supports would be dark brown, with blood red track. The trains would be like DB's, with two Beast paws, claws extended, on the nose of the front car. Of the three trains, the colors would be black, silver, and red. This new coaster would also include $30 million in already existing theming! Thats where SOB's structure comes into play. Demolish certain areas of the structure and leave others standing. Scatter the wood on the ground around the demolished sections. Place one of the trains on the track of a standing section, as if the front car is hanging over the edge. Take the other train and drop it from the crane near a smashed section of track from 100 feet up or so, so it smashes up as if it fell from the track. Then use some of the broken timber to build the sign for "Beast's Revenge", so that fans of SOB could touch some of the wood from the coaster . The new coaster would weave in and out of the still standing sections of SOB. The back story would be that "Beast" was angry about what had been done with SOB and thrashed it royaly! I think this would be a great ride and would also save some money on demo costs. Plus pay homage to SOB at the same time. I'm sure there are reasons why they couldnt or wouldnt, but would still be cool.
  10. Its from the movie "Silence of the Lambs". The picture in slitthythroat's avatar is Hannibal Lector, one of the main characters of the movie. I'm sure you could YouTube "Silence of the Lambs-Goodbye Horses" and find what I'm talking about. "It puts the lotion on It's skin or else it get the hose again!"
  11. they were on sale early in the year for 165.
  12. Six Flags Great America-Raging Bull & Shockwave (R.I.P.) Havent been since '01, going back in June for X-Flight & others built since '01. Kings Island-Diamondback Cedar Point-Millenium Force & Magnum XL-200 Dollywood-Wild Eagle & Thunderhead Old Indiana-Montagness Russes (only coaster they had when I was there shortly before the train accident in '96) Also planning on Six Flags St. Louis, Silver Dollar City, Worlds of Fun, and maybe Holiday World this summer. Next year possibaly Busch Gardens Williamsburgh, Kings Dominion, and Carowinds. Hershey, Dorney, and Kennywood are also on my list at some point.
  13. There is still room for quite a few more coasters at CP regardless.
  14. Great thread, enjoyed it very much and also learned some park history. Thanks for all your effort. How about a few special encore photos to cap off this long off season?
  15. I never thought it was something to cry on while riding. I always got off with a smile. I guess people are just too soft these days!
  16. Yeah we just rode it last saturday at night and I'd have to say its the intense ride I've ever been on at night.
  17. I dont believe necessarily that they mean something about the rides fate, although its at least possible they could. I will say that I believe 100%, that whoever came up with the idea for them did so to make you wonder if it has something to do with SOB's fate.
  18. I know right, its so annoying when people stick to the topic of threads!
  19. Yeah I'd bet someone knows. Ive always heard Cedar Fair usually plans major things such as coasters 4 years ahead of time. Not sure how true that is but Ive heard that.
  20. I think last years prop did mean something. I dont think it meant anything would be done this year. I think it just meant they were lookin at 3 options is all. I dont think this years prop means that it will open next year either, just that it will reopen at some point and not be demolished. I think it may have been a subtle way of saying its not dead yet is all. And I dont believe my theory 100%, in fact I still think the odds of it getting torn down are just as likely.
