  1. Firehawk isn't that hard to look at, you can see it from The Racer, and all along the areas near the line and exit.
  2. Mean Streak had some track improvements, but is still boring, full of wasted kinetic energy, and not usually worth the walk through the empty queue it usually has. Kblanken, who technically does have a Dinn coaster rise above any Intamin woodies in his personal rankings. -edit: Now that I think about it, I have two Dinn coasters ahead of any Intamins.. And neither of them are in Ohio.
  3. Balancing might have been part of the issue, but I don't think it was due to 15 people being on it. Whether 15 or 64 people are riding, there is just as much of a chance to be weighted wrong, which is what I was going for.
  4. It would be difficult to make it much higher this year, unless you go every day and buy things every few minutes. The program will be over at the end of the season, and next year might have different prizes. As you progress through a level, you get more options. There are free candy/popcorn/pretzels, game plays, discounts on food/merchandise/Fast Lane/friend tickets, free upcharge ride vouchers, funnel cake, meet the train conductor, front of line pass, parking upgrade, fireworks vip seats... I'm level 3 right now, but those are the things offered. They also will print out random free things or discounts at the registers. I seem to win something every time I buy blue ice cream in Planet Snoopy.
  5. More info showing how the polls are weighted too heavily on the rides that the most people have been on: 45 Mean Streak Cedar Point 46 T Express Everland Mean Streak, which is considered one of the worst wooden coasters, comes ahead of the Korean equivalent of El Toro. The full report has been put out, complete with multiple full page ads by Cedar Fair. goldenticketawards.com/pdfs/at_goldenticket_2012_web.pdf
  6. I doubt that would be why. I've been on the same WindSeeker when there were only a few people on, and it ran just fine. Sometimes they run it half full, or quarter full if there aren't enough riders. I've always seen somebody with a clipboard and a chart telling people where to sit. (Also, they run it empty when they test it.)
  7. http://www.goldenticketawards.com/winners/2012-09-08-20-11-23/top-10-steel-roller-coasters Diamondback was given tenth place.
  8. Yes, and in my version of choose the ERT attractions, it would be too.
  9. -Diamondback -Something for little kids, I don't have a preference -Whatever the new ride is for each year -The Beast Also, have Eiffel Tower open for everyone.
  10. From my observations this year, Stunt Crew Grill was barely open in-season. I am personally anticipating eating some Rivertown fries during the cool weather, they seem to be even better when it isn't over 30 degrees(86F) outside.
  11. I hope that book isn't about physics or engineering. :/
  12. Shaggy's post makes me more convinced than ever before that wooden coasters are sentient beings.
  13. The first drop on Son of Beast wasn't that great. The big one a little bit later was good though.
  14. The Racer's last uphill section before the turnaround; when the front of the train is about half way up, just before the little chain lift section starts.(The back of the train is still coming down from the previous hill.)
  15. We don't know for sure they will offer a different price for a renewal. On each of the Cedar Fair park websites that currently offer 2013 passes, nothing is said about renewal prices.
  16. Which one was it, Neptune Beach Whoopee Coaster? Oops, you put is, not was. Is it Giant Dipper?
  17. I just type the letter V into the address bar, and hit enter. It takes me there... the letter K takes me to this site.
  18. Would you please differentiate whether or not this is always done? A few people have said they had assigned seating on other rides, and I later went through when there were not seperators.
  19. http://www.dorneyonline.com/sims.php Somebody has made a simulator, where you can pretend you are controlling Steel Force at Dorney Park. I do not know how realistic or accurate the controls are, but it is amusing.
  20. -Anyone coming into the park can get into International Street during the ERT hours. There are roped off areas that a security guard will be standing near, and will ask to see your pass to pass. -Inside Flight of Fear, at least as far as I'm aware, they don't assign seats. (I haven't gone through the line this year so I don't know for sure.) The line for the front has been only a little bit longer than other lines when I've ridden. I've seen people ask for a row on Firehawk, and they were allowed it. They try to group people into fours, so you might have to wait an extra cycle. The front seat isn't really the front of the ride though, and some people might get into the non-front front row. Oh, and if you are a gold pass holder, and have attained enough stars, one of the prizes you can earn is a jump to the front of the line for one ride pass.
  21. It would have just as much to do as a race car in a jungle. I'm guessing it will be Planet Snoopy, giving them the largest kids area in the country's largest estuary drainage basin!
  22. If they can't crop out the other people, I think it would be neat if they could change the other people into characters like Scooby Doo, err sorry, Snoopy.
  23. From what I remember of the restrooms I have been to, the ones with lids are more likely to have trash all over the ground next to the receptacle. It might be uncovered to encourage throwing waste away into the bin.
  24. I've found that it is not as easy to move through level three as the other levels were. I also didn't start at 50% towards any of the next levels, but have found that my percent towards level 4 goes up a higher amount for each visit than for each dollar. Maybe for each level, 50% is earned from how much you spend, and 50% is earned through how many times you visit. Suppose we need x number of visits to level up each time, and those that have visited more than enough times on each level will carry over to the next. So if you have visited enough times to make it through level 3 on the visit half before you get through level 2, you will already be at 50% of getting through level 3. I just checked, and I am 45.52% to the Four Star Level, and that is with spending more money each visit than I did on the lower levels. (I bought a train and a trinket on this level, and other wise only food.)
