No you are right. They mentioned Timberliners were originally intended for the Voyage. I think there is obviously something wrong with either A. the design of the trains or B. how they run on the Voyage. If there wasn't a problem with the trains or how they run on the Voyage they would've been on the track 4 years ago. I am in the same boat with you about the situation. I'm not taking your comment as a dig because you didn't twist my words or put words in my mouth. You actually added to the conversation instead of changing my words. Either way the Voyage will still be a fun ride no matter what trains they put on it.

No not at all... I'm not sure where you are getting that from. I was guessing that since it has taken over 4 years to get these trains on the ride that maybe there was something about the timberliner trains that doesn't go well with the Voyage. I, as well as no one else outside of those testing the trains, have no idea what the ride is like with timberliners. It could be better, it could be the same, it could be worse. I happen to like the ride with the PTCs I may enjoy it as well with the timberliners as well, but like I said I have yet to experience the ride in those trains so I can only go off of what I have experienced with the PTCs. I asked about the trains because I wanted an update on if they were going to be used this upcoming year. Because I like the way the trains look and that it is supposed to make the ride better. I got and answer and reported it here. Thats just it. I assumed that someone would find it interesting the way the park responded to my question but we all know what you get when you assume things. Maybe I should be more thorough in my posts that way i don't get smart-alec responses like the one posted above me.

Speaking of timberliners I tweeted the park yesterday "@holidayworld Any word on the timberliners for the 2013 season?" and got this response: "Not yet ... still hoping. :0)" It's not looking good. I know people are disappointed by the timberliners not being on the Voyage. But I'm starting to think that maybe the design just doesn't work with the ride...

I missed the board for a week and come back to a Zager and Evans reference! Haha That song is great! I heard of this song only because it was on a banned song list after 9/11. (random I know but the song is awesome and I'm glad I found it!!!) Some youngins' know this song!

Haha that wasn't me that you talked to! As much as I love this event (keep in mind last year was my first year ever going), I would never put it over academics. The event should be around for a little while so if you miss it this year you'll catch it another time! But yes I will always give glowing reviews about the event. My testimonials might be so positive that it might over rate the event for others (I would hope not but I guess it is possible, haha).

My advice: If you can make it... GO!!! The trip is well worth it. Short lines (rode the 3 coasters 42 times in just over 5 hours of ERT, Good food (you are fed 3 times during the event), silent auction for park parts, waterpark ERT, the list goes on. You will have a great time!

I think the most important thing is a friendly staff. A great and friendly staff can cover up some minor issues with the park. It makes you feel valued as a customer. But i have to agree with terp and baconador, a balance between all of these make a great park.

I love a lot of aspects about rides. Negative G's are probably my favorite part of a ride. Followed very closely by Lateral g's/ intensity. That is probably why the Voyage is my favorite coaster. Lots of airtime (huge hills and the little bunny hops along the track) plus the tight twisting return path after the brake run. Marvelous stuff!

I hope coastermania is not on the same weekend. Last year the two events were on different weekends, but in the past they have been on the same weekend. I stay with family down there so I wont be splitting a room with anyone. I need to upload my TR from HWN 2012 still I have it but it on my other computer. It is an awesome event so I highly recommend it! I would say hold off on making hotel arrangements just yet. They usually make a deal with Santa's Lodge or Lake Rudolph Campground & RV Resort in plenty of time for you to take advantage of the deal and not be rushed in making the decision. Trust me, if you go, the Kochs will take care of you.

How Many Visits Did You Make to Kings Island in 2012?
Joncars05 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KI Polls
I went to KI 11 times this year. Kind of crazy since we live about 2 hours away. But it was a great year. I bought a PP for next year so I hope to make the CP/Carowinds/Kings Dominion trip! -
I like the idea of a wooden shuttle coaster. But just imagine the capacity nightmare of a shuttle woodie that has a 2 minute track run from beginning to end...

7. Ride every roller coaster at KI during the night. OK I know someone else posted a similar topic a little while back but I'm gonna post my results here since I am done visiting parks this year. 1. Only got to ride DB 42 times this year. 2. I was "inverted" 309 times this year. Inversion list as follows: Cheetah Hunt: 2 Kumba: 35 Montu: 28 Scorpion: 2 Sheikra: 5 Firehawk: 45 Flight of Fear: 48 Invertigo: 72 Vortex: 72 3. Fell a bit short on this one. I saved WindSeeker (idk if you would classify it as a flat, I would) for the end of the season, but it was closed when I was planning on riding it... 4. All of these rides are tremendous in the dark. If you cannot make it out to HW for Holiwood Nights make it to the halloween weekend events that they host. You will love their three coasters at night! Mission accomplished! 5. Added Busch Gardens Tampa to the list, IB and CP will have to wait until next year. It rained on the weekend we decided to go to IB and we now have platinum passes for CF so CP will be on the list next year for sure. 6. Added only 8 because of the limited travels this year. 7. I met this goal. DB and Beast are both awesome at night. Third on the list surprisingly is Adventure Express! Hope you guys had a fun 2012, I know I did. If you had some goals list them here and let us know if you made them or not!

If nothing sticks to teflon, how does teflon stick to the pan? If I toss my cat out of my car window, does it make my cat kitty litter? Can a vegetarian eat animal crackers?

I am a Platinum member, and the program worked for me this year. Also, I'd like to add that I think all my instant rewards came when I bought blue ice cream Kings Island Platinum Passes do work. I have a KI Platinum Pass and never had any problem with it and FUN Perks. Sweet!!! Thanks for letting me know! For some reason I thought it was only for GP at KI.

Is it this song? If it is the song is called "Dashboard" by Modest Mouse. Not gonna lie I love this band and this song in particular. But we all have our own tastes in music. I'm assuming the videos are on a loop so this is just part of the loop that is played.

I had the same issues/concerns as well. It's not a gripe its a concern. I like the system and the little things it produces but major money purchases such as Fast/Fright Lane passes, t-shirts, etc should bump your total up significantly... The lack of explanation of how the program works (more than the spend money and you get a free sno-cone whenever you reach an unknown total.) is a definite "we are in it for the profit and you get a simple prize for your efforts." The lack of explanation to the employees that are supposed to answer the questions from FP users also complicates the issues. But I do like some of the prizes you get ($20 off season pass, Half of FL, Free FL, etc) I just wish there wasn't the whole "our secret formula" tells you when you have spent enough money to get $20 back on a certain purchase. The current way the system is set up I may not spend much money in the park next year. I honestly believe that if there was a tier system where they showed how much you actually had to spend to reach the next level (and MORE IMPORTANTLY gave a break down of each of your purchases and how much of an impact they had on your progress bar) I would be more apt to spending more of my money in the park. I just wish they will be more open and honest about how the program works. I think they would be surprised at how much more money would be spent inside the KI gates. EDIT: I would love to see them expand the program to the Platinum Pass as well. I just purchased one for myself and one for my fiance. Hopefully they can make that jump so if the program does improve so loyal Platinum passholders can also take part in the program.

I see what you did there!!!

A theory I have for Sparkler being renamed is the ride was named through a naming contest and they might be having second thoughts about it. I'm just not sure though because there are plenty of examples of fan named rides that have been used for decades. I love the theming of that big dog taking a leak on the tree!

The GP discounts work for Platinum Passes. My fiance and I purchased them last week with the $20 off coupon for each! Saved us $40 on the PP!!! ($288 total spent on the PP)

Well the main subject of this topic is dying off as we speak...

Dont forget about Raptor and The Swarm as well! The latter being "known" for tearing innocent test dummies apart! Ouchies....

Imagine the crowd! I can't stop laughing at both of these posts! Instant classics!

I'm not talking about the plaques I'm talking about the bolts and wood from the ride I should've been more specific sorry about that. They have over 300 miles of board AND a plethora of bolts as well to choose from. I agree they couldn't fabricate the plaques because they are numbered.
