I'm taking my first trip to the park this year next Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and I was wondering about the all-you-can-eat buffet that they have in the picnic grove every day. I have heard a lot about it, although I know it's fairly new. I didn't even fully understand it even when I worked there back in 2005. I've read up on it though on KI's site and I'm just wondering if it is any good. Since I have a pass, I'll just be getting a seperate ticket for the picnic which costs about $12.95 but I figure it's worth it considering it costs around that, if not more, for a hamburger, fries, and a Coke in the Festhaus. I know that the quality of the food might be somewhat questionable, but I don't remember the food that they had for the KI employees picnic being that bad and I figure it's probably the same thing. Anyways, I really want to try it one day that I'm there, just to see what all the fuss is about. What are some experiences you all have had with it?

OK, time for the person with actual experience in the Admissions department to step it.... If you have four family members, and you buy one parking pass, then the parking pass gets put on one of the family member's passes. To solve the problem of "what if my son/daughter comes with a different family member each time" case, what a lot of people do is have the parking pass put on their son/daughter's pass. That way, it doesn't matter whether mom or dad are driving them in, as long as the kid is in the car they will get free parking.

The Pay once visit twice tickets are BY FAR the best deal because you basically get two days for the price of one. Any discouns, Coke cans etc, don't apply to these tickets since they are already specially priced and it's the same price for children and adults. The main rule with the P1 V2 tickets is that it has to be the same person both times. We use signatures to verify this.

I was also at the park on that day. It wasn't crowded at all. Longest waits were for Flight of Fear and Drop Zone. I went to SoB at exactly two o'clock and walked right on...that was the shock of my life. I should try to ride the front one day because it sounds like it's pretty smooth. I rode The Beast, Adventure Express, and Top Gun twice...rode the front of Top Gun to see what all the fuss was about. It is indeed pretty neat. I did everything major except IJST because it seemed like a really long line all day...but I guess that's to be expected. I also skipped Face/Off and TR. It was a great day though...as much fun as I could have had by myself I guess. I got there early and did everything I wanted to and got done early so I hit Festhaus kinda early then left. First official trip of the season...hopefully more will follow.

Consider this, as well: ghost, if they do exist, are probably not harmful to you. Maybe they're just looking for a little communication on your part and acknowledge their existence and, by doing so, possibly helping them. Maybe the reason some choose Kings Island to visit in the afterlife is because they liked it so much when they were alive. I know that if I have a roaming spirity, it will definately want to got to PKI. Think also about human nature and how sometimes we do things just to get under another's skin. Don't you think human spirits, if indeed they do exist, might be the same way. Maybe if they knew they didn't bother you, they wouldn't try as hard to make themselves known. These are nothing but hyphotheses. Faced with the situation of a ghostly encounter, the first thing I would do would probably not be to try to open up a line of communication as I whould probably be scared. And keep in mind that I'm using the widely accpeted theory that spirits are restless because of some score that was left unsettled while it was in its body as my basis. I haven't read all 17 pages of this, but the one about the hat in PT is one of the more creepy ones. And the one about the falling body from the tower is certainly the most horrifying. I want nothing more than to believe them but, for the time being, I can't.

Well, I'm throwing my two cents in even though I really don't want to. I have never had an experience with a ghost at PKI or anywhere and I question their existence and have for years. I'm a person who usually doesn't have to see something to believe it, but in this case I need visual proof. Like someone said at the beginning of the forum, I we need to question the validity of ghosts and hauntings as a whole before going to individual cases like those reported at PKI. Obviously, I'm not the only one who is searching for answers. And the question we need to answer before we can address the question of whether or not a person's soul can come back after someone is dead is: do people even have souls? It's a frustrating subject. But I believe concevibility implies reality but only implies it, not proves it. Maybe if I get the job I'm going after at PKI I will finally learn the truth although I'll admit I'm not sure I want to know.

No...just the satisfaction of knowing that you're one of the few who got them all right. If you're not satisfied, I can't help you. lol

To all who aren't familiar with my quiz of PKI, click here.This quiz is two years old and was updated last year around this time. I don't think there need to be any changes made but if someone could verify that they up-to-date I would appreciate it. I am also planning on creating another 25-Question PKI Quiz. I'm accepting any ideas as to what to put on it, especially if someone has a good bit of trivia that is not terribly hard. You may be a PKI Addict if you have a 4-page long microsoft word document of PKI Employees who post on PKIU/PKIC, and you print it out and take it with you just to keep them all straight in case you encounter some of them when you visit the park.

Do you actually have the ride recordings, or a recording of you riding the Theater? I'm guessing the latter based on your profile. Yes I have recordings of me riding it. This was one of the first things that I brought up over on the old boards and the legality of it came into question, but like I said I'm glad that I have them since PT is no longer around.

I couldn't agree with ItalianChef more on this one. He's posted numerous things about PT, including some fiction about the storyline and I think it's great. Seeing the pics is great, and I listen to my audio recordings now and then too. Crucify me if you want, but I'm so glad that I have them, for obvious reasons. I've done Scooby three or four times, but unless there's a short line for it I might not do it any more, afterall there are bigger and more thrilling rides to ride. I would always wait for PT, though. Although in its older years, there really wasn't much of a wait at all. That meant I could ride it two or three times in a row!

lol I think I got the idea from a local Halloween attraction called "Shawshank: Revisited." (The Shawshank Redepmtion was shot right here in Ohio)

Next thing you know, someone will say that they should retheme Scooby Doo and the Haunted castle to an interactive "Ghosts of the Holocaust" or retheme White Water Canyon to "Hurricane Andrew: Revisited" I think my point is that people don't come to an amusement park to become depressed. Besides, do you think that such a ride would even come close to the actual experience? They'd have to juice it a little...hire some professionals...... (I can't believe that out of all the Tom Hanks movies you had to choose "Saving Private Ryan." Why not "Castaway: Motion Simulator" or "Turner and Hooch: 3D" ???)

Here are a few things that, if the park removed, I would not make another trip to PKI: smurfcones, the old Phatom Theater building, the Forrest Gump bench, the Rivertown pond, the elephant fountain, Son of Beast, Festhaus, and Eiffel Tower.

Hey all I was just wondering if anyone here has been to PKI lately and if they still have the fountains.

Is anyone else concerned that the newest attractions at PKI are focusing on these high tech rides? Don't get me wrong, I like the "outside of the box" concept, but think about the box that has been there for so long and now it's being disturbed and it is fading slowly. Phantom Theater was only phase one. (I had to fit that in there somehow.) After they run out of little rides to take out, are the major coasters on the chopping block? Just to compete with Cedar Point? Let me know if you think my concerns are legitimate or not. I wasn't personally extremely thrilled when I heard about the new stunt track because I'm thinking "Been there, done that" because I've been on the one in Disney World. (EPCOT)

I thought of a couple more things: Thanks to those of you who have mentioned that you can get free water in the park. This was very helpful. Also, I got to see the fireworks this time for the first time in a really long time. They were very neat but very short. (I placed a clause at the very beginning of this topic why it does not constitute as being a chronological trip report and it was still moved. For the record, I do believe that my argument, while not extremely ejaculated, was proportiant to the topic at hand and am personally appauled by the insanely mostrous decision to move it. In the future, please regard all clauses, ejaculated or not, so as to not offend or manipulate the employees and/or patrons of Paramount's Kings Island or affiliated assocications even though it is noted that this is not an official site of a Paramount park. Also note that clauses do not necessarily have to be recognized for this reason, but should be as a matter of common decency. If clauses are to be ommitted in posts, the fact and reason behind the fact should be clearly described in Terms of Service. If they are allowed but ignored, the reason for the ignorance should be posted or e-mailed to the person posting the topic. This isn't so much a Trip Reoport as it is some general things about PKI and some constancies I came accros. I'm completely re-vamping the style of the Trip Report because of harsh criticisms from last time. SPECIFIC NOTES ABOUT MY JOURNEY: There were a few things that I really wanted to accomplish that I'd never done before and I got most of them done. I rode the very back seat of Flight of Fear, which was also the longest line of the day. I rode the front of Adventure Express, and the front of Racer. Finally, I encountered the scariest thing I've probably ever done. I'm afraid of heights and I'm afraid of the dark, but at about 9:30 last night I rode drop zone. It scared me to death but that doesn't mean I won't do it again. The only thing I didn't ride that I kinda wanted to was Face/Off...it's line was long all day long. RANDOM THINGS THAT CAME TO MY MIND DURING THE DAY: "Nobody in their right mind would ride Top Gun two times in a row unless they cheated the line." "Of course the 'Please get off the handrails' spiel is heard more times at Dodgem's than anywhere else. It's the only line where the ride-ops can see everyone." "I've underestimated the coolness of the Scooby ride, but I still miss Phatom Theatre." (I really like how you can get a lot of things to change if you hit them right. I had forgotten about that part.) "People with kids really do pay attention to the height requirements for rides, but that doesn't mean they'll stand in line anyways thinking that something will slip through the cracks (literally!!). (Situation at Vortex I was behind this guy whose kid was significantly shorter than the line, but he still stood in line. I knew what would go down and it did. The stick wasn't enough though, the kid had to go over to the metal height thing. Vortex had a good crew though. I recognized the girl earlier from Dodgems.) "I'm glad the Spice Girls music video is back." (I'm actually dead serious) "O.K..... Just slowly walk to the edge and slowly grab for a bar." (I hadn't been up to the top of the Eiffel Tower in years. I was glad I went up there because I got to see lots of Boomerang Bay.) "How can the pizza at the International Street La Rosa's be excellent and yet the same thing at Festhaus is horrible." (Hey, you learn from experience. Yeah I know sorry. The thing is, I'm not an employee and I know what it means. I looked up the codes on the Internet one time and saved them somewhere just for reference. The site is no longer up, and I don't think they're on the internet anywhere anymore. And I think it was posted on here one time in a thread titled "Signs you know you've been working at PKI for too long" or something like that I can't remember.

Isn't it 'the battle of fire and ice'? Something like that I think. From TRTR? I've only been on TR once and didn't like it. It might say that but I'm not sure--it's not the one I was thinking of. Hint: The one I am thinking of is not at PKI.

Night of Fire is probably cool I've never been to it before. What's not cool is the comercial on TV right now for it. It's really really bad.

I probably will include a select few;) Somebody had the briliant idea to remove the thread where everyone said what they work at the park, so it might be kinda hard to do that now. And actually in my case that's not true because I took some notes with Microsoft Word so I actually know pretty much all the information that was posted in that thread.

You'd be surprised to find out what goes on in the dark rides at Disney. Especially during band week. I've heard things, not seen or experienced. BTW: The thing about WWC: I thought that you got wet on that ride. And the water is really cold..... Wouldn't that be bad?
