  1. I'm sure that will be his defense, yes.
  2. StXbomber closed a topic entitled "Survivor: PKIU" And so it begins..... Man, what does this guy have against Survivor? I'm really going to enjoy hearing him explaining himself.
  3. It's interesting that you can't ride SD by yourself because I never could ride PT by myself. And also I don't think I could ever ride the haunted mansion (DWO) by myself. REGARDING THE WOODS AREA: This land is most likely under habitat protection. Animals that inhabit that particular area of the park include, but are not limited to: deer, eagles, copperheads, cicadas, giant bees, grasshoppers, woodpeckers, caribou, eagles, green-eyed tree boas, orangatans, sheep, and arctic wolves. Here's a good question: What kind of animal is The Beast supposed to be?
  4. OK, I honestly don't think I've ever played any of the arcade games or even been inside the place, come to think of it. What is it like? Do they have games where you can win tickets and trade them in? If so, what are the names of these games? Is it run by Midway? I'm trying to see if it's worth checking out the next time I'm at the park and can't wait that long to find out if they give out tickets or not. That's kinda a new hobby of mine. I've neglected going in there before because of the rides. Any information you can give will be helpful. Any criticisms, oh believe me there could be some, will not be welcome.
  5. Ohh OK. NOW the REAL culprit ^^ takes the blame. Would you rather eat crow or your funny little purple bird? I'm obviously just teasing. It's not your fault. Nobody could even conceive that Kings Island and two of the top coasters there would be mentioned by name. No hard feelings from anyone, we should all just accept that it was totally awesome and move on. PKI Homey, you took everything I said waaaaay too seriously. (Again, I say, please calm down) (lol) I always try to juice things more than what they are worth just for my own amusement and this time I was amused, but only to a certain degree. You never know when I'm going to just blurt out something just to see the reaction of people. I lead a sad life. I thought about ending this particular post at "...funny little purple bird?" but I didn't want to offend DD because she is cool and she is in that special loop that I envy. BTW: CSI rocks and the main character's name is Gil (Gilbert) Grissom. Bill Peterson's childhood hero was Astronaut Gus Grissom and Peterson changed the last name of his character in his hero's honor. (I made up the Gilbert part)
  6. um yeah I meant that to be sarcastic and I specifically stated not to be upset. There is absolutely no sense in all the anger and all the fury because of one little comment. (Topic will probaby be closed soon) Before the closing though, here's what was said by coasterdime on the other topic: "I'm worried about the impact this highly rated show will have on the public, especially after Saturday's fatal accident at SFNE." So actually the idea, the very notion that people will look down on PKI was at least hinted at. P.S. Please calm down.
  7. I taped CSI and just got finished watching it. Very awesome! Now, all of you who said the show would be bad publicity for a place like PKI, would you like your crow deep-fried or roasted? (<<Just a little sarcasm/humor. Don't be upset. The act that was committed to derail the coaster on the show was bizzare to say the least.)
  8. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation May 06 09:00pm Series/Drama, 59 Mins. "Turning the Screws", Episode #421. A roller coaster crash kills six people, and investigators must determine whether it was an accident or foul play. Yes it is kind of bad timing, but there is no way that they will change it now because of fierce competition for that particular spot.
  9. My list: Any band that was part of the "Music As a Weapon" lineup. This includes: Disturbed, TapRoot, Chevelle, and Unloco (who is currently broken up). Mudvayne would be cool too but that probably wouldn't happen. Oh and I can't fail to mention Godsmack, like others have mentioned.
  10. I haven't been to the park yet this year. What do you mean when you say that you don't like the new Beast sound affects? Are they too cheesy or something?
  11. Yeah, they brought the characters out and put them in the queing line outside of Days of Thunder. I mean James Bond. No, wait... I mean 7th Portal. NO! I MEAN SPONGEBOB!
  12. Not sure. I have the music, but only because I recorded myself (audio) on the ride a few years ago.
  13. Does anyone know if there will be a 2004 Gold season pass? If so, when will it go on sale?
  14. Great!! (It's still the best indoor coaster out there) By the way, if you're truly going to follow in my footsteps, don't come back and bump this list six months later. That will just **** the hell out of the mods.
  15. But guys, wouldn't it be cool if Disturbed came to Timberwolf??!
  16. OK, the title might have been misleading to an extent but I want to get the attention of the right people. All I really want to know is: are there any big Disturbed fans that are also big PKI fans? Oh yeah I guess I should add something that relates to PKI or else....well you know...ok let me think.... Wouldn't it be cool if Disturbed could be at TIMBERWOLF next year? I think it would be awesome if they had like a later on in the evening concert and you could spend the earlier part of the day riding rides and stuff.
  17. TRANSLATION: THEY WOULD KEEP THE MONEY
  18. I wasn't gonna say anything about it on this site, but I thought it might just be good to warn people. I don't know what happened. It just went under but why oh why is it PORN??!!
  19. Sorry it took me so long to reply. I don't really think that people try to intintinally others on DoT (someone will argue otherwise and if they don't it's because of spite LOL). I just think people get caught up in the moment and everyone seems to follow the same line and that's because they want to "win" and thats why accidents happen. The two wrecks that I saw were because of this reason (one car got spun). OK thats all I got to say thanks for clearing up the Les Taxis confussion DL. Paragraphs add nothing, just appearance making it look better, yeah I understand. Usualy if I do that it's because I can't find a good way to make paragraphs.
  20. Well, as I kinda eluded to in a couple of posts last week, I went to PKI yesterday and had a great time. My group of six (all family members) got to the park at a little past nine in the morning and waited by the rope near the Tomb Raider statue. The first thing I did, however, was I stopped over by the near store on International Street to buy a couple of batteries for my camera and it still didn't work so I had no camera that day. I was pretty sad. I noticed that the bees were kinda bad as I was standing there near the statue actually closer to the clock I guess and hopped that they wouldn't bee to awfully bad as the day progressed and they really weren't. Usually, we stand by the rope near where you can enter Action Zone so I noticed this time that there isn't as much of a build up over by the clock. The rope dropped and everyone scurried off to their destination. My group headed to The Beast. We were on the second load of the day and we were towards the front. It was really a great ride but midway through my fanny pack carrying a few items, including my camera, came undone and I had to toss it to the floor to keep it from flying off when we got on the helix. (I was sitting on the inside seat so it probably would have fell out.) So, when I got back to the station I had to get in a funny position to get the pack from under the seat and from then on I had the clasp of the thing shoved way down in my pants and didn't have any problems. I didn't really understand the concept of putting those things through your belt loops until it just kinda occurred to me at the end of the day and nobody informed me of that before so I guess I'm just an idiot. It did fine the rest of the day. We got off of The Beast and got right back on it for a quick second ride. This time I was in the second to last seat and my aunt was in the very back. So we got off The Beast and headed over to Vortex and did not have a wait. I've always hated going up that first hill on Vortex, but it wasn't too bad this time. After Vortex it was time to check out Spongebob 3D. I liked the scenery over there as one of my old pals from Phantom Theatre was standing out there with the rest of the gouls. A great treat but not a surprise as someone from here posted it. Spongebob was pretty cool but those glasses hurt my eyes and I'm sure it's just my eyes because they're weird. Overall, though, Spongebob was pretty good but I really do miss Days of Thunder (I know, going back to old times...) After Spongebob, it was over to The Racer. recaR wasn't running which was kinda a relief because I really do not care for it. It messes up my back or something, I don't know. Next it was Adventure Express. Great coaster and always has been. There was no wait for it either and there wasn't a wait for Spongebob. We shot over to La Rosas in Rivertown after that. Man was it a lot better than when we ate La Rosas in the Festhaus last year!! It was really a lot cheesier and generally a lot better. I thought the bees might be bad over there but the weren't terrible. We decided to catch the train after lunch. We got on in Rivertown and I was personally pretty annoyed with the soundtrack on the train, but at least it was a "unique" experience. We got off in Ghastly Grove and headed to Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle. It was a long line extending outside but it moved quickly. When we got inside, it was kinda sad because I saw where the maestro used to sit and play his organ but I didn't see the maestro of course. The hall isn't lined with photos of old performers anymore either but it does kinda sound like they're using a little bit of the old que line soundtrack that the did in Phantom Theatre. Scooby was pretty good. Someone posted that the track goes in reverse of what Phantom Theatre did, but it doesn't. I got 930 points on my shooting spree. Not too bad of a replacement for PT, but still it's kinda sad. My first time on that one. We went over to Huckleberry Dairy after Scooby and got some blueberry ice cream: an old time favorite. Great treat for a great value! We sat under that thing behind Huckleberry Dairy and I remembered that they didn't used to have tables over there. After our treat, we head over to FoF. Not much of a wait. They changed the restraints on FoF. I knew this but I forgot so I was kinda confused when I got in there and someone had to help me. I like these a lot better because they're obviously not as rough on the head. Great coaster, FoF is. Me and my aunt had the very back. FoF is very unique and has always been a favorite of mine. Then we went to Dodgem. I hit one person pretty good but they're really still the same old slow cars. I noticed while I was on them that the Old Fashioned Cars weren't runnning and wondered why. Then we headed over to Top Gun. No wait up there either. I still like the very beginning of Top Gun where it feels like you're fling out acrossed the land. It's a pretty good feeling I've always thought. After that, we went over to the Stunt Crew Grill for drinks. We made our plans, as four of us would be going over to Timberwolf to catch the concert. I wasn't one of the four. Me and my dad sepparated from the other four after another meeting in Festhaus where my brother and cousin had a little snack. There was nobody in Festhaus at around this time: 4PM. So anyways me and dad went over to Son of Beast. WOW. A lot rougher than I remember it. It was really great and it didn't hurt me as much as I thought it might. We rode towards the front and I wondered how rough it would be in the back. When we got off and got to the ORP stand, there was a security guy up there giving this one guy the devil for giving the camera the finger. Right before you go up the very first hill isn't really the best place for an ORP, but oh well. I guess it does start out kinda fast and that's how they get away with it. Me and dad decided to watch a couple of races on the Days of Thunder track. I noticed how ticked off the ride ops get when people hit other cars but they've really got to realize that a lot of those people who drive those cars are die hard race fans and they're in it to race. It's not always clean but then again neither is real stock car racing. OK enough about that. Me and dad headed over to Scooby for a second ride. Dad took all my points this time as I only got 330. I really do enjoy how some things change if you shoot them right, well you know what I mean. Me and dad went to The Beast next, after deciding Runaway Reptar might not be that great of a choice maybe it is I don't know. We got in the line but it was kinda long and I didn't wanna risk it so we went to The Beast. They had a little portion of the line opened up after the line of Coke machines, more than they did that morning. It wasn't a long line though really. We had a great third ride on The Beast and then went over to Coney Mall to check out the line of Vortex. It was long so we didn't do it. Then we thought we'd go and do Spongebob but they changed it to the other thing sorry don't remember the name. This is when the park really started to get crowded as the line for FoF was really big too as were a lot of the lines for the Fear Fest stuff so we decided to leave Coney Mall (what does the distorted sign say?) and we went to the Festhaus for a little grub. Man there were a lot more people in there by now. We still didn't wait long to get our food though. I went with the bacon cheeseburger and some fries. The meal gave me the boost I needed to finish the day. Me and dad went over to Adventure Express and it was a longer wait than before. At least there was entertainment on the tube: Michael Jackson turning into a wherewolf (OK seriously what in the hell is that all about?) but we didn't wait long for the ride. It was really great. I have never been on a coaster in the dark before. I started thinking that it would be a better way to scare people at Halloween if they decorated the rides, AE would be a great one, and program some things to jump out and stuff like that. I didn't do any of the Fear Fest stuff. Really didn't have much of an idea that it was Fear Fest until we got to the park that morning. Can't comment on all the spooky stuff but it looked like it sure drew a big crowd. We did Son of Beast next. That is really cool at night. I wondered why there weren't lights on the hill though. It made it hard to see if they were running it as I was trying to figure that out when I was in line for AE. Anyways it was the best ride of the day. It was pitch black and the moon had an orange tint to it. Perfect for the season, right? Well my aunt called as we got off SoB and told me they were heading to The Beast. Problem was, by that time everyone from the concert was heading there too. They decided to pass on The Beast and she called me back to tell me this and to tell us to meet them outside the first shop on International Street. While me and dad were sitting on the bench, a PKI employee gave us a survey to fill out about Fear Fest but we really weren't a huge help as we didn't do any of the stuff. We filled it out anyways and then the rest of the gang showed up mom got something in the store and I thought about getting one of those "punk" orange-gold PKI shirts but didn't. The fountains were pretty cool I thought. It has been ages since I've stayed at the park that late--possibly over ten years. So we left at around 9:30. Overall: great time at PKI.
  21. Anyone ever been on Montu and Busch Gardens, Tampa? I really like that kind of ride but the closest PKI comes to having a ride like it is Face/Off. PKI needs a ride like Montu, definately.
  22. The technology used in Disney's haunted mansion is one of the best kept secrets in the world, especially the use of the special effects used to create the ghostly apparations in the ball room scene. I miss PT and everyone here knows that. Chef's right on. I'm currently writing a paper in college about how far I go to make memories and I make mention that I have a rare piece of audio from Phantom Theatre. It intrigued some of my classmates; they had never heard of such a thing. I hear some of the old characters are making a cameo appearance in FearFest so that should be neat to see.
  23. Wow!! I'm going Saturday and I can't wait to see the characters! Just hope they're not in Tomb Raider....
  24. Interesting insights so far, guys. The thing about the lap bar being up is actually kind of typical because many people actually play that worse-case scenario out in their mind either while in line for the ride or while on the ride. It's typical to dream about a subconscience kind of fear like that even though it is pretty ridiclulous.
  25. Hey all I know I've been absent and it's mainly because I was sas about not being able to go to the park in the summer and thought if I came to the site it would make me even more sad. I actually usually go in the fall and that looks like that's what I'm going to be doing this year on October 11. Anyways I thought I'd bring up an interesting topic about the PKI that you dream about--literally. Sometimes at night I dream about PKI, but it's not really PKI. (It's common to dream about this type of bizarro-world place or person) Anyways, what's your bizzaro PKI like? Mine's awfully weird. It has a few distorted water rides and the last time "I was there," it had a shuttle loop. Maybe this is a weird topic and maybe not the best way to make a comeback to the boards but I'll give it a shot I guess. Post what this alternate PKI is like and maybe someone else has seen the same thing.
