  1. Oh ok. I thought Reloaded was like an actual story or something.
  2. So what's the plot of the one that you ARE working on?
  3. I was wondering when someone was going to correct that misconception. It's a toss up between AE and The Racers (depeding on whether you count The Racers as one or two rides). AE simply has a high capacity, so as soon as you enter the station, you're almost ready to board a train. Won't we be able to conclude a lot about AE and its ridership due to it being down to only two-car operation? I thought I heard it was only running two cars I might be wrong. I personally love AE, almost better than Racer. They should have definately advertised DoT. There were probably some people that were really sad when it was taken out and then to make a comeback after so many years....that would be pretty cool for them. Or maybe I'm just speaking for myself. I got excited when I first heard the news but I guess I'll be ok now. I like nostalgic experiences, even if they aren't real great.
  4. Actually that's the first thing that came to my mind when I first got the idea. That's still a possibility. Is your story going to be fiction or is it going to be about yours and others experiences??
  5. The only real problem is that with a reality series about PKI, there really is no plot unless there are some generic soap opera type of situations going on with the employees. Now I'm sure that those situations actaully exist within theh system, but if you make a reality series about relationships of ride operators, you will lose the audience of the coaster enthusiasts but not necessarily the audience of reality drama enthusiasts (and if you don't belive me, just look at some of these half-assed shows that are on right now.) The BGT thing that I saw on the Travel Channel was good because it was only like a one-day thing. If they do that kind of thing for PKI, I think they might have something and they could do one a month or so and of course one for FearFest.
  6. Hey all it's me again. I really want to write a short story about PKI but I don't have any good ideas. I'm hoping that there are some people out their who have good ideas but can't put them into words;) Suggestions would be helpful. In all honesty I haven't given it a lot of thought but I might come up with something on my own who knows. I usually need a push and this time I'm thinking it's gonna come from someone else. Suggestions about suggestions are also welcome! Thanks!
  7. I was sitting outside of Emporium last year during fearfest at night and filled something out. The survey was about fearfest but I didn't do any of the things so I wasn't much help...or maybe I was if they were trying to figure out what kind of people don't participate in any of the FF stuff at all.... Halloween is almost my favorite Holiday but I go to PKI for the coasters!
  8. That's what I figured, but I didn't know that they controlled some of the water shoots as well on either of the rides.
  9. As I've mentioned before, I've tape recorded myself at the park and on rides a couple of times and these spiels are actually one of my favorite things to listen to! It's little things that amuse me the most...and I love this thread! OK, here's a little quiz. I'll be very impressed if anybody gets this one. Complete the phrase heard in the recording: "Now, sit back and experience the battle of (BLANK). I'll give hints if no one gets it. BTW: Speaking of quizzes, in case you are new around here check out my quiz at my PKI quiz at the following link: (note that there are other quizes about other paramount parks as well. I did not author those.) http://www.funtrivia.com/quizzes/entertain...ount_parks.html
  10. What do the people that sit in that little booth do? I think there's one on Beast too I'm not sure whether they still use it or not though.
  11. I agree with SFM, BTS shows are always interesting. I'm remembering the one they did on BGT and it was pretty interesting. You do have to be kinda a big fan of the park though.
  12. I think the clousure is such a huge disappointment because that ride is the closest anyone can come to actually riding in a stock car. Some of the old cast members of Phatom Theater appared outside of the Paramount Action Theater last October. In retrospect, it was a harsh omen of things to come.
  13. Well, I checked out my local Blockbuster and the guy there said that they were supposed to receive the P1V2 Promotional Tickets (actually I saw some others that they had and they were cards) but they never received them! I'm hoping the one up in Columbus will have them, I'll make my way up to the one in the Great Southern Mall Area some time next week. I guess the price is $42.99 and that's pretty good because I'll probably go once in the summer and once in the fall.
  14. Thanks for the help. Isn't $42.99 the price that you'd pay at the PKI gate? I thought the Blockbuster price was lower for some reason...... It's still a good deal though and I'll probably get in on it.
  15. Do you have to visit the park two days in a row? Edit: Just checked out the following site: http://www.colsmetrofcu.org/promotions.html It says any two dates during the 2004 season. Looking for confirmation. I guess the park always offers this deal, the only difference now is the price. It said the price during the commercial but I don't remember it now.
  16. This is actually huge news! Spongebob is ok, but I think I'd rather wait in line for Days of Thunder. (Now there's TWO rides named that!) How long's it ben since DoT was there? Seven years? That's pretty cool. I certainly thought it was gone for good after 007 took over and then I certainly thought it was gone when the other stuff took over! I actually like nostalgisitc experiences so it's definately gonna be a good feeling when I get to ride it (hopefully) in July.
  17. I didn't realize it hadn't opened to the public yet...
  18. You all might remember me creating a quiz about a year ago about PKI. Now it's a little outdated, so I'm going to tweak it just a little. Boomerang Bay has an attraction called Crocodile Run. Is this the former Lazy River? And what about the Great Barrier Reef? Is this the former Wipeout Beach? I can't assume anything, so I'm sorry if these are dumb questions. I'm sure they made improvements to them, but they seem to be essentially the same thing. Please let me know about any other former WaterWorks attractions with new Boomerang Bay names.
  19. Well, I'm gonna go a little bit of a different way than sobrider on this one. Here's my guess: The guy probably hopped out of the train while it was stuck and then had his girlfriend take his picture. (I guess it really wouldn't have had to been his girlfriend, maybe just a regular guy friend. Or maybe it was someone he didn't even know. Of course, I personally wouldn't take some nutty guy's picture on the track...not unless the price was right.) That doesn't explain the hat, though. You'd think that if he was wearing that on a rough woody it would have fallen off. Maybe he glued it to his head, I don't know.
  20. I ate at the same place when I went a few years back. For dinner, that is. For luch I had a hot dog in the CP equivalent of rivertown. PKI probably has the best food of any park I've ever been to though. With Busch Gardens, TB a close runner-up. Unfortunately, I haven't had a lot of the food at PKI because I always eat at the same two places: Rivertown La Rosas for lunch (I get pizza there) and for dinner I go to Festhaus and get a bacon cheese burger/fries and sometimes a little slice of choco cake. Snack places vary, but it's usually over to Huckleberry Dairy for a smurfcone sometime between luch and dinner. This Tucker's sounds intriguing though....Maybe I'll check it out on July 8 when I make my trip to PKI. I've got to check out PW too some time but I can't really think of where that is at the moment...
  21. mmmmkay FIRST: I'm not sure that if I want to hear rumors that I'm going to go to the Dippin' Dots guy. Not unless I wanna hear rumors about new Dippin' Dots flavors. SECOND: The main reason why it would be senseless to tear down The Beast to put in a Dippin' Dots stand is because there is already a Dippin' Dots stand in Rivertown, across from La Rosa's at least I know there used to be. Does that cart travel? Can it travel? hmm
  22. that guy looks like he's gonna end up like the little guy in your icon thing.
  23. LOL Bomber. I'm just giving you a hard time. You're the man and you deserve to be a mod. I can't decide whether or not to start giving Yogster a hard time or not. He closed one about La Rosa's yesterday......
