So the temperatures are rising in the tri-state, which makes me feel as if summer is right here, making me and other Kings Island fans talk about opening day, which leads me to ask this. If you could have the choice of moving the opening day date at Kings Island to another day would you move it?

What I meant was since everything will be taken down, will they sell, trash, or store the scenery/signage?

This is a question that has made me think since the announcement Soak City which are what will happen to the scenery of Boomerang Bay, and what will happen to all the signs of the slides/attractions?

I have forgotten to say this from the amazement that there is a design/theming dept from Cedar Fair, which is that there is a floral dept that is mentioned by the g.m. of k.i. and is seen around the park sometimes.

Hmmm I never knew of this from the theming in the park

It is true on how CF does not do a greater job than Disney nor Paramount, the Boomerang Bay concept was one of the most greatest types of waterparks that i have seen...untill they tore it down. In which it leads me to say this Cedar Fair in my stand point is more for the thrill, not the theme, unlike Disney Parks, they make sure the thrill is there when the "imagineering" is set for the thrill and theme to coincide so well that the thrill is the theme! The only good themed ride that i saw in KI since the CF purchase was the "robo dino" attraction, which was kind of out of place to begin with. Dont get me wrong but i two love Kings Island, its my home park and always will be, it is only like you said constructive criticism. To finalize this statement i would like to say this, although we wish some things can be done, the money cannot be made in this time sorry to say, Disney has mega loads of cash in their wallets making them be a larger company.

BB1 replied to Gordon Bombay's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Man its depressing to see these parks go, Boomerang Bay and Beach, all good parks, to live throught our memories r.i.p. Beach, although your slides had some water and made me get stuck inside the water coaster i still will miss you. -
My math hast decieved me! Lol, but good job on the 726 facepalms inwhich i now see.
-
HA! "many?" I believe he came to KI as recently as 2004. The many as in the history going through out its use since the beginning, but it isnt used much now....

I vote the eagles, due to the fact of that its cheaper and more amusing than a giga in my case, but i must ask, where may the parts of our beloved flat ride be at?

Well one could only guess, but the big "Tin Box" will still linger at that place.

40th Anniversary...how about a History of KI area?
BB1 replied to RD Reynolds's topic in Kings Island
Off my head there are over 5 things the could have 1 a car from the sob 2 a phantom theater character 3 a Boomerang Bay sign 4 The Bat sign 5 the Crocodile dundee voice in Boomerang bay. Also, the Tower Gardens area is a very great idea for this kind of area, but the smoking might need to go for the most attendance in the area. -
nice rct name,^ but tidal wave bay actually sounds good for the pool

Is that 725 facepalms inwhich i see? ^

They confirmed The Crypt was closing, not that it would be on the 2012 map. It should not be included. Why would they have a big random box just sitting there on the map? I'm sure guests would be very confused! This may be due to this: the map producers already had the design made for the map, no more alterations can be made. Back in December they had the map ready with all the bells and whistles of the park, at that time no kind of decision was made for the retirement of the r.i.p. Crypt, the reason being for the "Tin Box" on the map.

True ^ many waterparks infact are going with the "action river" craze not the lazy river inwhich we are used to.
-
i forget whats that event? Also they also have hosted the Hannity tour.
-
If we are talking about items in the net, yes there are those items, also i have seen hats, rings, quaters, even ear rings.

You were probably looking at the Timberwolf Stage it is used for many summer concerts

If i may say it seems more like an loss/advancement to KI, yeah we lost a good ride, but the true theming of RiverTown maybe brung back from this demolishment and make the area more river valley town like. So in my case its a bitter sweet situation, loss of a ride, new haunt, and more of an old town feel to River Town. In which i hope that they can maybe try to shroud the big "tin box" for the theming to be better.

hmmm where have i heard bay before?....Wait Boomerang Bay reference maybe?
