Not really. If they get new ones each year, why would they state this year any differently?

New wheels for Diamondback this year!
-
^ That would require a new location within the park for a chick-fil-A, because if you look to the right of the Diamondback webcam, that isn't a possible thing to expand right there. PLUS, Kings Island already has a chicken location.. and I feel like they'll probably remove chick-fil-A if they want more money.

^^ True, I believe it'll probably be two lanes, even 3. As the turn looked to hold 2 or 3 lanes. I am not certain how many though. If I looked again I'd probably be sure. I'm going to say it'll be 3 lanes based on memory. ^ You've probably never used the North Entrance because it was always closed.
-
It's basically an entrance exit, but converge on the same intersection. Now I don't know how well this will be for traffic.. I'm going to assume deadly. (At least for time.) Especially on opening day, this entrance will certainly be busy. They have to build the entrance still, and then they have to redo all of the road work and lights right there, because all of those lines will certainly be different. I'm going to assume that there will be a double turn lane from southbound. Like this for example (STILL ME GIVING EXAMPLES, NOT OFFICIAL)
-
Now. I do not have any official plans on what is happening currently... BUT, I believe this is what the intersection may look like with this new enterance. This could be different, I don't know... I figured I'd try to give a little bit of help.. I may try contacting the ODOT District 8 to see if they have any plans. that could be reviewed.

I'm not calling anyone out, but a certain someone is a little suspicious for not contributing to this thread in anyway, even by liking.

Tropical Plunge's slides will go vertical at the start of the new year.
-
I know it's a slow progress currently for the next few years. But the paths should really be repaired (Even a NEWLY pathed path has issues with water.) and I wouldn't mind walking through Kings Island without seeing a body of water the size of Lake Erie next to the Eiffel Tower (Other areas also have a bad habit of flooding. Vortex Lake for example? a drain that doesn't work?

https://www.instagram.com/Coasterides/ It does look like it's someone who is near the park, So who's coasterides

Suggestion to those around to 5'5 to 6'0 range, sit in the front of any car (no matter what) and press you foot up against the front of it (INSIDE obviously.) and you should be able to lift your self up, Its minimal headbanging (Not by a lot, but it'll help your head live another day, and your neck doesn't take the beating a whole lot if you are paying attention. I don't even have fun on Vortex, I pay attention to the ride more than I do actually enjoy it. Yes, the possibility of whiplash is higher, but it has never occurred to me yet, so I will continue to do this to save my self a headache later.

Why is there nothing on the construction here?? Kind of nothing to talk about... But as I went by the park to turn things in, I saw them panting fresh asphalt for the new entrance. (Picture from Kings Island's Instagram)

So do you think The Beast will get the new PTCI360 trains?
CoasterOhio replied to Oldschool75's topic in Kings Island
Yes, this would be lovely to have a design like this, but let's put things into how difficult something like a train change is. First you have to get the new trains, that costs money. With beast having 3 trains, that are 5 cars long, thats 3 benches for car. 15 cars per train, that's 45 cars total, and given the price of whatever these things are. It'll probably total pretty high. I believe these new trains would be longer. so even if they did switch out 5, 3 rowed cars for 15, 1 rowed cars, the one row cars are larger overtime. Thus we'd only get like 12 cars. Next step is to reset all the sensors on the ride to accommodate for 12/15 different cars, other than 5. There also has to be lots of tests to make sure this car is compatable with The Beast, as it is technically a Kings Island Manufactured coaster, and not a PTC. (We only own the trains from PTC) Let's not forget to reset the Camera so it flashes 12/15 times rapidly instead of 5 times rapidly. Station has to be refit to accommodate the new train. New gates as there is probably going to be a major offset for these trains... It takes a lot to trade in a new train system for a ride. (Mantis to Rougarou for example.) -
I'm not the only one stalking around the webcams to watch the park wind down? And or also hoping for construction cameras to go live?

I didn't really keep track of coaster credits anymore. Banshee is most likely 25ish. (all time) I didn't go often this year. New roller coasters though.. Maverick: 2 (All time favourite) Millie: 2 TTD: 2 Gatekeeper: 2 Wicked Twister: 2 Raptor: 2 Rougarou: 1 Blue Streak: 1 Magnum: 1 Corkscrew: 1 Iron Dragon: 1 Mean Streak: 1

Now that it was probably addressed it'll be taken down, and replaced.
-
One would expect some changes between potato works and Diamondback.

Chocking on fog on rainy days? Cold Weather? sure...

Wanted to post the topic for my Cedar Point TR now so I can post live or do it all at once each night. Depending on what I want to do. I am excited for today though. I leave wothin the next hour or two for the 3.5 hour trip down.

^ it's been give because guests were climbing on it. And making holes in it and breaking it.
-
Where is it officially announced that what is being removed is from 1972? Where did that come from?
-
It obviously isn't too major of an announcement to show it up out of the blue one day before had, less than 24 hours before the announcement. Especially when a MAJOR announcement like Banshee, or Diamondback had a set date, and time at least a week in advanced. So this can't be too major of an announcement. But obviously it is a major announcement to the park, and I can't wait to see what the park has in-store this year!
