Kings Island gives Cedar Point two hundred acres of undeveloped land and in exchange Cedar Point gives Kings Island the status of the Cedar Fair Flagship park.

Welcome to the Great Ride Exchange! What rides are you willing to trade or bargain for? They can be between any two parks and any ride is open for exchange. Attractions like Dinosaurs Alive are up for grabs too. For example, I'd trade Dinosaurs Alive and Congo Falls in exchange for Thunderbird at Holiday World. *EDIT* Exchanges should be reasonable

New For 2017: Mystic Timbers!
SonofBaconator replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Would it be wrong to classify Mystic Timbers somewhere in between a family ride and a thrill ride? -
I'm sure RMC was considered but I ultimately think it was better for Cedar Fair to just nix the ride all together. RMC wasn't as well known or as reputable as it is now. The ride already had a bad reputation and caused significant pain to guests.

I would be alright with that. I just want something like a wild west show or at least some interactive props throughout the course of the ride. I'm honestly tired of how the conductors make fun of the crappy props whenever they do their spiel.
-
This isn't likely but it certainly isn't impossible. Worlds of Fun has added a Wild West show to their train ride and I'd love to see KI mimic this. I know it wouldn't be possible during the regular operating season with Soak City open but they could try and do something before the regular summer season starts. They could use the plot of land by the Mary Rose Inn so everyone on board the train could see the show. Here's a video I found online if anyone wants to take a gander

This isn't meant to be a roast or a bash on the park by any means so please don't treat it like one. In all honesty, we all have room to improve in life and amusement parks are certainly no exception. So please share what you think KI could improve on and what they could change to better themselves in the amusement park industry. Though this is strictly opinion based, please give a valid reason as to why you think KI would improve from your feedback. Oh my, I'm starting to sound like a college professor..

I was talking more along the lines of coaster theming as opposed to park theming (Banshee, Flight of Fear, Mystic Timbers, Adventure Express, BLSC, heck I'd even throw Beast a bone), but I agree that in terms of theming a park section CP's Frontier Town beats our Rivertown by far! I was hoping that KI would theme its sections more appropriately. Action Zone as a more spooky theme where old rides go to die, (or to be resurrected...). Coney Mall going back to its old Coney Island style roots of an older amusement park feel. X Base actually being something. Make Oktoberfest more German like I guess. I really like how they steer Rivertown away from the traditional western theme but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be improved. I agree with CoastersRZ that Mystic Timbers will help enhance the theme

I always considered KI to be a hybrid park. It is first and foremost an amusement park, however while the theming doesn't rival that of Disney or Six Flags, the park balances thrills and themes to make it work quite beautifully. That's one aspect of KI that dominates other parks like CP

Kings Island's next coaster predictions
SonofBaconator replied to SonofBaconator's topic in KI Polls
I know this is a HUGE stretch but I've always wanted to see a Vekoma mine ride like Big Grizzly Mountain in Disneyland Hong Kong or even like Seven Dwarfs at the Magic Kingdom. But since we have Adventure Express, this will likely never happen. -

I feel like Gravity Group stayed closer to CCI's roots than GCI did. I'd love to visit Gravity Group's HQ sometime. -
*If* Backlot Stunt Coaster was removed....
SonofBaconator replied to XSHADOWx's topic in Kings Island
Would it be wrong to assume that if Cedar Fair decided to remove the three BLSC from KI, KD, and CA respectively, they would just move them to smaller parks like Dorney, Valley Fair, and dare I say Michigan's Adventure? -
A lot of people see a long line for a ride and turn away in search of a smaller line. Would it be a good investment to add some more Flight of Fear/ Busch Garden styled ques? Enclosed ques offer shielding from the sun, AC, and theming adds a little more excitement and anticipation while waiting to get on a ride. I'm not saying add one to every ride, but que buildings should be something to definitely look into. Thoughts?

*If* Backlot Stunt Coaster was removed....

We can have our own opinions and we are mature enough to understand scenarios when we see them so I don't think anyone's offended. I'm also old poster but chose to return with a new identity -
*If* Backlot Stunt Coaster was removed....
SonofBaconator replied to XSHADOWx's topic in Kings Island
I mean the placement of the ride itself is the biggest upset to me. It's smack dab in the middle of the old antique cars real estate and leaves a lot of awkward, unused pieces of land. As you can see from this snip (provided by Google Maps), the red is the area that BLSC currently occupies and the blue is the wasted, in my opinion, pieces of land. The green in the bottom right corner is just extra property that could be utilized for land that could connect a coaster to the main land where BLSC currently occupies or just an area for some flats. Like I said, its the placement that makes the ride distasteful to me. There's just a lot of land that was just wasted. I honestly don't see KI getting rid of BLSC anytime soon because that would be a huge waste of money. One can only hope that Mystic Timbers takes a huge chunk of its ridership away. I'd love to see it replaced with an Intamin Blitz or even a first of it's kind B&M launched coaster, if B&M becomes more comfortable with making launched rides. -
Kings Island's next coaster predictions
SonofBaconator replied to SonofBaconator's topic in KI Polls
I put that we'll most likely get a giga but I really want a Launched Wing Coaster. I feel like whenever Cedar Point adds a coaster to their park, we won't get that type of coaster. Since a wing coaster and a dive coaster were added to CP's roster within the last 3 years, I don't think we'll get either for a while. -
Cedar Point workers on Strike
SonofBaconator replied to CoasterOhio's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
CP is the most profitable park based on a per day profit. KBF is open year round. If CP was open year round it would be without a doubt the most profitable park in CF's portfolio. Also head to CP during mayfly season, or just during the season with all of the seagull poop splattered throughout the park, it gets pretty dirty. CP isn't the grossest park I've been to but it definitely isn't the cleanest. I'm not doubting your logic but Cedar Point would be losing money if it were open year round where its currently located. -
Where exactly will the que be? Will it be tucked between the train and RFYLCB?

A somewhat obligatory thread but I'd like to see what people think. Please comment what you voted on and share your thoughts!

Just thought I'd bring this up because I literally just remembered this. Last year I was walking through the center of the parking lot towards the front entrance of the park. Then I noticed a number spray painted into the pavement in big white numbers "370" I honestly don't believe it was graffiti, at first I thought that park maintenance did that to measure the distance from that exact point to the front entrance, which I will admit was around 300+ feet in distance. I thought it was extremely interesting that the number was 370 since whenever I see the number 300 at KI I immediately think of a giga. I never payed attention to the lot this season or took any notice until I saw this link while I was reading up on something from a past thread. http://coasteraddict.com/will-kings-island-get-a-giga/ You're more than welcome to read the entire article but this is the part I'm focusing on "If that is the widely- accepted consideration, Kings Island would have to have a Giga Coaster that is around 370 feet tall with a first drop that generates speeds near 115 or 120 mph" Though this is just speculation from an enthusiast's page, I thought it was worth sharing. Is there a posibility for a 370ft coaster? Yes its possible, but I'm honestly reserving judgement until I get more facts on height restrictions and things like that. Also if you look at previous posts I've made on other threads, I'm leaning more towards Centurion being a Kings Island name.

That must be some nifty Time Machine you have there. I am so relieved to hear that Mr. T is "great", are you going to spill #whatsintheshed or would that interfere with the timelines? No, I'll just create an alternate timeline so that Mr. T is renamed "The A Team" "Ya Fool"

I've been listening to all these amusement park pages on YouTube and all of them say that we NEED a Giga to be put in X-Base in the next 3 to 5 years. Do we really though? Kings Island has showed us in 2014 and 2017 that they can dish out great coasters that don't even peak 200ft. Don't get me wrong I want a Giga for the park more than anything and I'm more than confident that we'll get one in the future, but do we really "NEED" one like all these enthusiasts say we do?

I'm praying for some flat rides to hit rivertown in the distant future. Canada's Wonderland has an awesome selection of flat rides that would fit well at KI
