All these coaster enthusiasts are predicting that it will replace Dinosaurs Alive but I believe that they can coexist. Plus I don't like the name Gigasaur that some Youtubers are predicting

Ummm Gatekeeper? -
^Probably the same people who recognize the old props that reside in the Cavern of Terror. Anyone else would just see creepy people dressed in blue..

Can KI please get some scare-actors and dress them as the old Phantom Theater characters?

Cedar Fair Coaster Trends

Would it be wrong to assume that the next ground up coaster Cedar Point will get is a B&M Flyer? I know they're already tight on space but they're going to need something new and unique in the next couple of years. -
I've had this thought for a while but I didn't want to share it because I didn't think anyone would see it the same way... Bravo! Basically whatever newer coaster Cedar Point has, that's the coaster we're least likely to get. Launched for 2027 Wing for 2033 Dive for 2036

Racer would most likely get RMC'd before it would be demolished. The ride is too iconic to be demolished, especially with the way the roller coaster industry is constantly improving and innovating rides.
-
It's just a personal preference of mine. I just think MCBRs on certain coasters kill the momentum of the ride.

Since there a ton of posts about gigas on other threads, I decided to create a central topic just dedicated to the speculation of the giga coaster that most coaster enthusiasts believe we are going to get in the future. What we know: Cedar Fair has added 3 gigas to its parks since 2010 Each giga installed is taller than the last Kings Island is the only major Cedar Fair park without one What we can speculate: The conception of the coaster itself B&M is a likely candidate The old S.O.B station might be used ^If not in Action Zone then it could be put in X-Base^ Possibly a green color since KI has no coasters that color Like I said, this is just a speculation thread. "The more you know, the better you can speculate for what's ahead"

I'd rather wait longer to get off a ride than have to deal with a mid-course break-run.

Just as a side question, what's the difference in Millennium Flyer trains vs Timberliner trains? I know one is GCI and the other is Gravity group. Is there any difference in ride experience or which type of train works well on a specific layout?
-
Which coaster do you want to come next.
SonofBaconator replied to Beasttamer's topic in Coming Attractions
I know this is far-fetched but Gravity Group makes some good coasters that are pretty underrated in my opinion. I'd love to ride a coaster similar to Switchback -
Delirium didn't really need a repaint but it got one and it looks way better. I personally hate the checker board look and the bright yellow and was happy to see it go. They could have kept The Bat as Flight Deck but they decided to change it and a lot of people really liked the change. They have repainted almost every existing attraction in Action Zone prior to 2014 except for Drop Tower. I am not doubting nor am I arguing against your logic. I know from a marketing and economic standpoint some of what I said isn't feasible. However, I am just speaking on sheer imagination and not business. I did not state that the ideas I said would make the park more money or increase per capita spending. I would be equally amazed if anything I mentioned would increase guest spending. Will any of these things that I listed happen? Maybe, but probably not. I believe that a lot of ideas people have on this site wouldn't really make a lot of scene from a business standpoint but they are good ideas nonetheless. I think you'll find that there are a ton of people that have their own ideas of things that they would like to see, even if they don't make sense money wise. As a business student I completely understand that everything is always about money but a little imagination goes a long way.

How to finish theming Action Zone Repaint Drop Tower and rename it Demon Drop. Move Congo Falls to Rivertown and rename it Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal. Fix The Bat que- remove the American flag painting and turn the tunnels in caves, have some rock or darker music playing as you walk to the station. Maybe add some corn or wheat stalks on the other side of the fences to make it feel more isolated from the rest of the park. Also some old Bat audio from the 80s would be nice. Give the section it a knew identity like "Scream Zone" or "Thrill Zone." It would be awesome if they brought back the old Bestie vulture and perched on a gate or something. Side note, I wish they'd add some lights under The Bat just like they did for Banshee

This is more of a thought than a rumor. Relocating Congo Falls to Rivertown and renaming it Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal.

Cedar Fair Coaster Trends
SonofBaconator replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Maybe to better support my thought process a little bit more, look again at the sheet. Look what Cedar Fair did to Mantis and CGA's Vortex- you can safely bet that CF will be leaning to convert Vortex at Carowinds to floorless. When Mean Streak get's RMC'd, there's a strong likelihood that Hurler at Carowinds and KD will get their fix sooner or later. This list isn't supposed to be set and stone, but its supposed give you an idea at what CF has been looking at over the years. -
That's old speculation. Or are you implying that the Splintercat will be in the shed?

Cedar Fair Coaster Trends
SonofBaconator replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I did it for anyone who cared to look and see where some parks are compared to others and what the data says about what path each park is heading down. -
I decided to make an Excel sheet of the trends in the Cedar Fair company in terms of coasters. I did not include renames if it was just a simple paint job, however I did include Rougaroo and Patriot since the trains changed therefore changing the ride experience. I also decided to make this list after 2007 since that was when Cedar Fair started to make changes to a great deal of its parks on account of the Paramount buy as well as the closing of Geauga Lake. Let me know what you think https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_4zm02rSukmXN5vCqWELWfGvYavUsn2vwxgXcUDOaxM/edit?usp=sharing

I have ultimate faith in GCI but I'm afraid that if they do a drop track it might have maintenance issues than anticipated. Look how great RMC is doing and then they made the first ever launched wooden coaster and it's always down. Firsts of its kind don't always work out as hoped no matter how good the manufacturer is.

Remember what Greg said, "you'll have to come back and ride it multiple times." What I take from this is that there's going to be different scenes depending on what ride you're on. So if someone spoils #whatsintheshed, it might be different than what the next person sees. Since the actual "shed" is comprised of 4 different sections, there might be a variety of scenes that could be shown throughout the end of the ride.

I created this poll because I wanted to see how people really rated the coasters at KI. I included every single coaster that has been at Kings Island. I also included coasters that went through name changes, theming changes or significant changes in ride experience ex: Italian Job: Stunt Track vs Backlot Stunt Coaster, Son of Beast Pre Loop vs Post Loop, etc. Ratings can change depending on personal preferences and users are more than welcome to update their ratings. You certainly don't have to list all the names like I have but I encourage it! Current Rides Adventure Express: 3/5 Backlot Stunt Coaster: 2/5 Italian Job: Stunt Track: 4/5 (Theming was significantly stripped in the later years) Banshee: 5/5 Bat (2014): 4/5 (Loved how they resurrected an old name to co-debut with Banshee Flight Deck: 3/5 (Poor theming) Top Gun: 4/5 Beast: 5/5 Diamondback: 5/5 Firehawk: 4/5 Flight of Fear: 4/5 Outer Limits: Flight of Fear: 3/5 (OTS Restraints) Flying Ace Ariel Chase: 3/5 Runaway Reptar: 3/5 Great Pumpkin Coaster: 2/5 Little Bill's Giggle Coaster: 2/5 Top Cat's Taxi Jam: 2/5 Scooby Zoom: 2/5 Invertigo: 3/5 (Sucker for a good color scheme) Face Off: 2/5 (McDonald's anyone?) Mystic Timbers: 4/5 Racer: 4/5 Racer (Backwards): 5/5 Surf Dog: 2/5 Avatar: The Last Airbender: 2/5 Vortex: 4/5 Woodstock Express: 3/5 Fairly Odd Coaster: 3/5 Bestie: 3/5 Scooby Doo: 3/5 Defunct Rides (Based off of my own personal perspective) Bat (1980): 3/5 Bavarian Beetle: 2/5 Demon: 2/5 King Cobra: 3/5 Son of Beast: 3/5 Son of Beast (Post Loop): 1/5

Where would you want KI to build their Giga? (if they do)
SonofBaconator replied to Xdog42's topic in Kings Island
I think I speak for almost everyone when I say that KI should install a giga in X-Base. There's so much land back their aside from DA for them to work with. I honestly think Coney Mall is done adding new coasters so I'd love to see X-Base get some much needed attention and give people a good reason to visit that section of the park. Green track with grey supports would be a nice attention grabber.
