Whatever the reason for the leg restraints, I personally enjoy my rides on B&M's coasters with my legs freely able to stick straight out and have my hands up. Makes me feel like I am flying over the hills. I am sure the patrons riding Steel Dragon are not complaining about these new trains though and probably wouldn't really be bothered by the leg restraints seeing as the old trains did not allow for free swinging legs anyways.

This is definately a great deal for those who are not season pass holders. I have a Platinum Pass myself, but I would suggest something like this to friends who are not, or even to my mom who enjoys going and riding coasters with me but is not a pass holder.

From the topic thread that was closed about the "Banshee" name rights being held by Cedar Fair now, I just wanted to say that what I said is true about the name not wanting to be used in the past for what we now know as Mantis, due to the words meaning. Even RCDB says so, which is a credible source. http://rcdb.com/7.htm "Etymology: Initially, Mantis was to be named "Banshee". In Irish folklore, a Banshee is a female spirit whose wail was said to foretell a death in the family. Funny, I remember when Mantis at CP was supposed to be originally named Banshee, but due to its Irish origins of a woman wailing before a death, they opted not to name the ride that as not to cause problems with the general public. I can't honestly see them ever using that name now if they opted not to then...but that's just my view point

I've seen deer just grazing and chilling out near the little wooded area right before Flight Deck goes down the first drop. It made me smile They didn't even seem phased, but I guess they just adapt to all the noises and commotion around them. Makes me think of all the seagulls at Cedar Point and how they will just swoop by so close to you even while you're riding! ( That happened to me while on Gatekeeper! A seagull with nesting materials flew by within a hairs breath of my feet! Made me chuckle )

That is a really neat picture, Fear the Four! I haven't seen many early renderations/advertisements for Top Gun/Flight Deck!

I still wish they offered helicopter rides over there. I thought that was really unique when they did that back in the day. Then again the area wasn't known as X Base and only had FoF over there, but I just remember how cool it was to have the opportunity to ride in a helicopter over the park.

Although this made me a little sad to see this program go, I am sure they are working on coming up with something better to reimburse passholders. I used my coupon for $9.99 to take my mom for Mother's Day. We went a week after since I was at Cedar Point for Gatekeeper's opening weekend, but we had a blast and it was nice being able to get her in at a cheap price. At least they are giving us something, but I hope to see some kind of program return for purchasing items/food in the park. I liked the concept a lot.

I enjoy getting my LaRosa's fix ( especially when its fresh out of the oven ) and a large Coke. Later on I enjoy a chocolate/vanilla swirl waffle cone with...yes...sprinkles

I'm sure this ride will be a hit with thrill seekers and those who are flat ride junkies. Looks like fun. I would ride it. Kinda makes me think of the former Jet Scream at Canada's Wonderland combined with Delirum/Maxair.

Naturally as a DJ, I am mixing and cranking out more electronic/hip-hop and rap music to keep the dance floor moving, but as a music lover I thouroughly enjoy a little bit of everything. If I like the song, I don't care what genre it is. I feel that without music, we would not be here. Music has personally gotten me through some of the worst times in my life and I know it has done the same for countless others.

From my personal experiences, I have learned that when a park builds a new attraction, the park tends to be busier than normal even on days that "shouldn't" be seen as crowded. I would like to say that the park will probably not be nearly AS busy on a Friday as would a weekend day, but I would still say it being Cedar Point with a brand new roller coaster, you can expect it to be busy. That is just from my personal experiences though.

I will just be happy to see something new next year. As with most of you, I am speculating a coaster because of the footers, but then again you never know. My hopes are for a nice big coaster with great capacity; a people eater like Vortex and Diamondback.

If it counts for anything, in my own experiences in riding Diamondback ( which is A LOT just like most of you because I practically was obsessed with ride counting there for awhile since the day it opened ) the only vibrations I seemed to notice were only when I rode the brown train. For some reason it just seems like the brown train is just really shakey compared to the red and green trains. Anyone else notice this? Everyone I have ever ridden Diamondback's brown train with has noticed this too so I know I'm not losing my mind but I was just wondering if anyone else here noticed it too.

Oddly enough the water tower never really bugged me but I guess its because I always hoped maybe they would do something with it. I guess in my mind I was imagining tranforming it into some cool looking fountain to make it look like the tower busted and water was leaking from it into a pool below. Seeing it go will be interesting though. Its going to look so empty this year with everything disappearing, but makes me excited to see what will be coming. I like how Jungle Jim seems to enjoy collecting random KI stuff.

Totally ready for summer, roller coasters, concerts and all the great things that come with warm weather! ( Except for the bugs...)

I've been dreaming about KI and CP a lot. In both of them, I am usually just walking around taking in the view. The sky is usually a grayish-blue or really sunny. In my Kings Island dreams like most of you, I dream about Son of Beast. I'm usually walking around and then I hear that magnificient roar of the chain dogs and I see a train ascending the lift. I start runing towards it to go ride it, but then I wake up For some reason I'm usually always riding MF, Rapor or TTD at CP, but I guess thats because those are my favs! Funny how the off season plays with our minds when we can't be on our coasters!

I think that's half the enjoyment about roller coasters and or flat rides are their unique "personalities" they convey through their sounds they make. I love all of them! I will say I think Invetigo's cable lift mechanism almost reminds me of a nice purring sound and who can forget SoB's roaring chain dogs that demanded your attention from across the park? Oh and I love the Monster's multitude of sounds while gearing up. But back to the point...I won't be surprised the day poor Flight Deck meets the hacksaw. I love the spunky little suspended coaster and appreciate its historic significance as the last of its breed to be built, but I know ultimately historic value cannot always save a coaster from being dismantled *sigh*

I hope they repaint the sign so it doesn't look so awkward and mismatched.

If they were to ever add go-karts again I think it would be cool if they got two different tracks. Ill use my local Greatimes Fun Park here in Indy as an example. They have a decent sized and somewhat challenging track for everyone mature enough to drive but then they added a smaller "slick track" for drivers 16+ because the karts were faster and the track was far more trickier to drive. This track has since changed a bit, but I think that would be pretty cool if they did something like this if they were to ever add go-karts back into the park.

I feel whether you love or hate this ride, The Vortex is an iconic coaster in the park and everyone who has been attending since it was built knows it. I for one am a fan of the ride. Sure it has given me some jarring experiences, but it has also given me some fantastic ones too. I more or less have countless memories on it too. I will miss this coaster whenever it is that it meets its demise, but for now I am not worried about it because it still stands and I know I will have more chances at getting more rides on it this upcoming season.

So did anyone on here purchase a piece of track or a bolt when they were selling those off not too long ago? I bought a plaque with a piece of track on it. Its really nice. Sad in a way, but nice to have.
