Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees

It's amazing no one else here has noticed the trailer loaded with wood sitting in the far north parking lot. I wonder what that's for? -

Been watching the POV of Prowler at Worlds of Fun. If this coaster is anything like it from what i've seen and heard; I think it'll be a good addition. -

I was thinking they could have been for Haunt, but I was just a little thrown off to see them out where Project 2017 is after KI hinted the project by using barrels, and by being placed out in the very front of the park by an access road where no guests are permitted, but next to trees that were removed. Probably over analyzing. Thanks for clarifying. -

Anyone know what all the crates and barrels are for that are being stored between The Racer and the Coney Mall midway down close to Dinosaurs Alive? These crates and barrels are being stored together in what looks like a structure that will eventually be covered. Interestingly enough, KI has hinted Project 2017 using barrels in their"roll the barrels out" pic. I was at KI today and If you look back in the clearing of trees directly across from the train station, I couldn't see the barrels, but I could see the crates that are very similar to the ones being stored with the barrels by DA. What's even more interesting is that there are the same exact crates placed where they cut those trees down in the very front of the park by the access road that goes back behind Timberwolf next to Congo Falls and Inveritgo. Not saying this is anything, but could it a hint for another ride beyond 2017? Just an observation. -

After watching the video and analyzing all of our decoding thus far; I also have to agree this is going to be a mid-sized GCI with a metal support structure. It makes sense because if you think back to one of KI's first hints regarding "what we are looking for is under the train bridge", it is apparent that they weren't hinting that the new coaster would go under it. They were hinting that the train bridge is supported by steel trusses, therefore the new coaster likely will be as well. I was hoping for an RMC because It would have really boosted the park's coaster lineup and given the park something unique a lot of other parks don't have. I do believe this new addition will not be extremely exciting for the people that enjoy high and fast coasters, but I'm sure a lot of people will still enjoy it, as I'm sure the target market is more family oriented. Hopefully, I'm wrong, but the evidence thus far suggests otherwise. I guess we'll just have to keep waiting for our RMC or Giga.... -

Old School's layout is what I thought would make the most sense when I posted my comment about when pulling into the train station there is a large clearing between the tracks and the WWC reservoir. His layout has the coaster going exactly there. The other lake to the left of the tracks also would have to have the layout going around it, and it does as well. It also matches up with the markers and more clearing i've seen, especially the two markers found before the train turns into the final stretch into the Soak City station. -

As far as the layout goes, I think it is going to go between the train tracks and the WWC reservoir. If you ride the train, there is a large clearing there right before entering the train station. It seems to me, that positioning the layout between the tracks and WWC reservoir may make sense as the clearing suggests. -

We're all on here because we love KI and roller coasters. It's awesome that we have that in common and we should embrace it. I like to hear everyone's input because it just helps decode it that much more. Everyone has a different view and it's a good thing. Now....back to the decoding. -

Let's not forget that KI hinted at a RMC on Snapchat with the Rocky reference. It could be a diversion, but putting it on Snapchat makes me think there's some truth to it because it was only up for 10 mins or so. -

I personally have not ridden a GCI or RMC, but I am excited about the possibility of getting either because I've heard both are great ride experiences. However, I believe adding an RMC would make KI's coaster lineup stronger because it would give the park something different that a lot of other parks don't have, including KI. -

One of the reasons Son of Beast was built was to compete with KK. -

Also, It is important to follow the clearing of land and placing of the markers to get a close to correct positioning of the layout. There are two markers along the train tracks before it turns right to make the last stretch into the Soak City station. That positioning of the layout doesn't follow where the markers are placed. -

KI seems to be showing a lot of train pics even when they're not hinting #KIPROJECT2017. The trains could indeed play a role in the theming. -

The blue and green train pic hints KI was showing earlier could be the color of the track. I've noticed that some RMC's have different colors on each side of the track. If it's an RMC, one side could be blue and the other could be green. -

I don't think they'll tear down RFYLCB. I think I remember hearing that they transferred it from Coney. If that's true, it has historic value, and it's the only flume ride left in the park besides Congo Falls. I hope they don't remove it. -

Let's also not forget that there is a marker right next to DB. So, the evidence points to them possibly crossing paths or coming really close. -

I was there on Sunday, so I went back to look at the new WWC path and I did get a good look at the bridge. I saw couple of trees cut down with very little clearing. the only thing I deduced was that the structure holding up the tracks appeared to be metal painted to look like wood. It was a pretty long ways to the bottom of the ravine up to the tracks as well. I'd say at least 60 ft. Def. plenty of room for a coaster to go under it. Wouldn't that almost certainly mean the coaster will intersect or cross paths with Diamondback based on the layout that we've all seen? Which would be very cool...just not how they usually do things. If it does go under the bridge, I would think it would cross paths with DB. I also think it would look good considering it is probably going to be a wooden coaster. The contrast of steel and wood could really work well, i think. -

I think an RMC makes the most sense. Kentucky Kingdom just got one, therefore that helps KI compete against them. Also, the rumor is Cedar Point's Mean Streak is getting an RMC makeover, which means FUN could have made a package deal with RMC to save money. And most important, an RMC would give KI a unique coaster with a hybrid that they are lacking....with the exception of Adventure Express, of course, but this obviously would be totally different.
