Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees
kirbias1 replied to jcgoble3's topic in Kings Island
I'm not disappointed no matter what, but if we're left to wait I just hope when they do build a Giga that it's huge, fast, all sorts of record-breaking. I think KI is waiting to build an amazing giga. Let's not forget that Fury just opened last year. I don't think Cedar Fair wants to steel (pun intended) it's thunder by building something better only a couple of years after opening it. I think they have something better than Fury on the drawing board, we're just going to have to wait to get it. -

Usually, KI doesn't go the cheaper coaster/ higher quantity route, but in this instance, I think they may be going that way. It explains why they may be building one only 3 years since Banshee. However, I do think If this coaster is on the smaller scale side, it will be unique and special compared to it's peers. KI has more tricks up its sleeve on this one than that dubious coaster layout shows. -

we may get one sooner than people think. If this wooden coaster is what we're getting, the cost may be relatively low. That means we could get a giga by 2020 at the latest. -

If this is a true representation, i just don't understand why a lot of people think this is going to be a "small" coaster. The dimensions have yet to be revealed. -

Yeah, you're probably right. Some track pics from the plant for Fury would be cool! -

I agree and the picture above looks like it shows Valravn starts with DM- so Dive Machine? Yeah, it seems so. I have never seen the part no. for a giga or hyper from B&M. It may start with a H or G. I don't think KI is getting a wing coaster, though. I hope for a giga. -

I think the first couple of letters on the "part no" line indicates what kind of coaster it is. I remember Banshee's track part no. started with IC2. IC's are inverted coasters. The key is to figure out the first few digits. Inverted, Wing, Hypers, Gigas and Dive coasters all have their own unique first three digits that show what kind of track it is. Since this looks to begin with "W2", it may be a wing coaster. -

Honestly you could combine all other CF parks into one and CP would be better. Opinions vary. -

There may have been some clearing back there by Diamondback's hammerhead turn, it was just hard to tell. -

I rode Diamondback today, but I didn't see any clearing back by the hammerhead like some said they had seen. I guess i probably missed it. -

Not completely correct. If Skyplex is built in Orlando Florida it will be just over 500ft tall. And for what I saw of the animations it is traditional chain lift. But I'm agreeing with others. There needs to being a mass clearing soon or I will change my mind! From the looks of things thus far, imo, KI is trying to preserve as many trees as possible for this project. It's way too early to tell, though. If this is a coaster and they are trying to preserve most of the wooded area, it will be a logistical challenge to get all of the steel and equipment back there, around and over those trees. I assume It can be done, though. -
We were there yesterday as well. It was about an hour wait around 8pm.
-
I was thinking the same thing. Shame on me for assuming. I just think FoF is a great ride, but it also can have a long wait.
-
I was recently at the park and purchased a Fast Lane Plus. I made the assumption that FoF was part of FLP because it was for the 2013 season. I was disappointed when we tried to enter where the FL was located on FoF last year, only to find out it was no longer available. I think that is absolutely ridiculous that KI took one of the best rides out of the FLP package for the price that they charge for it.

I am happy for Holiday World. This looks like it is going to be a good ride, but I think next time they should seek advice from the masters of marketing at Kings Island for hint dropping. We now return to our regularly scheduled programming……...

66 days at sea only to see a bird dive from the sky at the end of the voyage? No relevance, whatsoever. A diversion I guess.
-
It's been awhile since I rode AE. The only effects I remember not running were the fog machines. What other effects are not functioning?
-
I think a Dive Coaster would be a great addition for the next scream machine at Kings Island. Hopefully, Busch Gardens and B&M didn't agree to a stipulation that no others could be built a certain amount of miles from the two BG parks.
-
There's already a giga at Cedar Point. It's called Millennium Force.
-
Banshee's first drop looks very steep. Does anyone know the angle of descent? It doesn't seem to be listed anywhere online that i could find.
-
Haunted Hill.......I think.

Morgana Excalibur?

Matilda

if you look closely, they have poured a little square of concrete on the right side of the clothing and souvenir store. That is my guess as to where the lockers will be.
