  1. It amazes me what little things enthusiasts nitpick and gripe. The park is spending 22 million on something new and exciting for you to go enjoy yourself or with others to make lasting memories. Last I checked none of you have 22 million and B&M's number on speed dial.
  2. Edit..I might have misread.. Basically seats are front to back, left to right
  3. Ok correction to my post..a serious MAJOR Steel coaster..not a kiddie ride
  4. Basically..it didn't work, and work well..along with other things on the ride, but that's another story. It's a Vekoma Great green Vekoma considering the state of some other Dutchmans..however
  5. So now that I've had time to sit back here's some thoughts: 1. A B&M Launch...most impressive 2. Smaller Wing Rider trains, different, but we'll see how good they work out. 3. Neat little bit of theming 4. Many many Gatekeeper & Banshee like elements. I wonder who has been designing B&M's as of late, I see alot of familiarity, almost like the 1990-early 2000 Stengel days where many B&Ms and some Intamins, etc. were slightly similar 5. The video is so reminiscent of Banshee's announcement, same company perhaps 6. Pretty radical and neat color scheme..Fits the "Thanksgiving" area 7. A steel at Holiday World, about time 8. Can anyone go into detail about the whole flywheel deal? I'm guessing electric motor spins a flywheel, somehow that movement gets stored in I'm guessing a battery bank? 9. Can we install a Tesla Coil too, free power for all 10. I really hope the transfer table keeps that awesome theming. Every building looks like it's going to get some sweet stuff. 11. Major props to Holiday World. Hopefully expansions like this bring the park up to a possible destination park and more world class rides. I'd hate to see it compete with KI & whatnot, but it's def. growing
  6. Nor should ADA issues happen in this day and age..we're better than that
  7. X flight at Geauga Lake never hit that capacity either. Blame the manufacturer partially for that..like the seats raising as the train entered the station, etc. Then add complex style restraints, slow loading times. etc. Now subtract a train and change even more and add complex operating procedures..nowhere even close. This being a simple B&M can probably easily hit its capacity. If it's lower I only anticipate being maybe 100-200 off theoretical. The pre launch acts as a lift hill clearing the station, once it's on the track if next is loaded it can advance and begin prestage and be ready to launch once the prior train is past the safety brake. Quite simple and effective blocking and engineering
  8. Him..a Vulture..GASP Now that we have a new one of a kind nextdoor in an already pretty fantastic park, we'll see how this turns out.
  9. Lol y'all are amazed with this stuff. To me it's a bunch of random information xD
  10. How about give the 100 millionth rider the title..then he be rider 100,000,001
  11. It says you've been a member since '13 lols Just messing with ya
  12. It's not that bad, they park both elevators next to eachother, the ride ops keep you to one side, they open both doors on the side that face eachother (very small door) and drop ramps/handrails to easily climb from one to another.. I think it'd be worse to evac on some coasters..or a certain flat ride
  13. I know of a few vater evacs..One even happened this year.
  14. Pretty freaking neat.. But gimmie a dark ride like that sans shooting. It's awesome to have a bit of fun and compare scores and all, but let me sit and be amazed by it's magic
  15. Some single riders want an empty seat, but honestly that is a very small majority, and that wish will be granted. I'm not some Operational Warmonger..you will have empty seats, be it initial riders in first hour, or slow hours, or towards the end of the day. However if I see a ride that has been up all day with a 20+ minute queue with no downtime mid day I shouldn't see empty seats often, however I do, and it confuses me..When I see DB stack and have 4 or more empty seats..literally..you couldn't get a single person to fill one seat or more..Especially considering they seem to want to control where people sit on the ride this year. I really, really, really wish I could come in one day and take vids/pictures of discrepancies I see and show them off..however I have more important things to do like relax, enjoy the atmosphere, and have FUN.. I can rant late at night on a Wed. while procrastinating sleep
  16. I see both sides to what you're saying However empty seats on trains do add up quickly. Lets say two empty seats every other train all day, you probably just lost 400 riders all day on DB (1/3 of an hour roughly). May not seem like alot, but it does add up. For a ride that cycles so quick and has the queue to match, fill the trains, it drops the line quicker more guests move through and again, makes operations much more efficient. Take Corkscrew..pain in the ass to pop lock and drop a whole train empty or close to it, fully loaded, quite quite easy. Low capacity I agree, filling every seat is very important, as it moves the queue and also may be important for the ride to function as designed, S&S Towers a prime example. Which is why it kills me to see empty seats on either Monster rides when loading 4 arms.
  17. Btw Terp..get Dave in here to talk about operations..Giggle
  18. Oh I'm sure it would..I went there while a CF employee years ago and pulled my hair..
  19. Good training for empowered ride ops and sups negates abused systems..it's people...paired up in a line..Make it sound like it was rocket science...My time at Maverick..Let a single rider through, even the rails, load train, load the next set quick. The ones who try to abuse it will voice up about it. And common is it really hard to look down the stairs and not see them come through that line as a group, or close together in similar age, gender, and usually maturity. Quite easy to distinguish these individuals.. But this is coming from the park that won't let employees press a few buttons and turn switches to transfer and park trains or walk up lift hills to keep everyone safe.
  20. Paint just a section..it goes invisible..everyone freaks out
  21. I don't like the single rider line for the abuse side, however also it's not needed. If a queue needs a single rider to offset a group call down the stairs for a single rider, it works well. That person self identifies as a single rider, bring em up, queue em on the ride. Most single riders appreciate the jump, and they also will more often than not pair up with an odd group or other single rider. If not you have a single rider to pair up again or to pair in another future group, simple as that. If crowd keeps a constant bit in the station and keeps the queues full in station, the ride will flow smoothly. Locking and checking empty seats takes more time than a loaded one.Load them all on a capacity ride, quicker dispatch, better interval, better numbers, and more satisfied guests safely riding the ride.
