^I really want a Vekoma Pandora's Box for a dark ride. http://www.vekoma.com/index.php/specialities-and-attractions/pandora-s-box

I love how CF is starting to branch off to different coaster companies. Yes, I love Intamins for their thrills. But as we all know, Intamin rides can have some serious flaws and issues, while there are so many other companies that provide unique, run coasters. Lately Cedar Fair has received B&M's first (and as of now) only giga coaster, they have received a record breaking wing coaster, they have reborn the inverted coaster, and among several other additions they have built a family friendly yet thrilling GCI wooden coaster. There are tons of options other than Intamin that could provide a nice blend and balance to a park's lineup, and there are still many other companies and coaster types that I hope Cedar Fair will go to for future additions. I love the thrill of Intamins, but I love even more seeing a park with varied thrill levels, ride types, and coaster companies.

I really wonder how Banshee will compare to other inverts like Raptor. I'll be very curious to ride it and see. I can already tell it will be a fantastic ride, though.

I still wish I could have gone to that Birthday Bash. KIC's birthday celebration + my own birthday celebration = 1 huge amazing birthday celebration! Aw well. All the pictures and videos are great.

I never even knew there was a KICentral theme. Let alone any other theme from the one that was posted in the original picture of this thread. I guess I'll keep the IP one though. I'm used to it and am fine with how it looks.

I have been very busy lately and haven't had time to stay up to date with this thread, so I have enjoyed spending my evening reading through all the new pages of this thread. Now that I'm all caught up, I have several thoughts: 1) Regarding the shades over the queue, they look great and I love that the park went with a color that compliments the ride itself. Seeing these shades makes me wish that Cedar Point will install more shades over Gatekeeper's queue. Last year it only had shades along the few rows of queue parallel to the beach, which wouldn't always be used. I thought it made no sense how the busiest part of the queue and where there were almost always people waiting had NO shade whatsoever. Just a random, sort of off topic thought but I really want this area of GK's queue to get these shades or some some of coverings. Last summer it was brutal waiting there with the hot sun beating down. 2) I'm predicting that the structure previously pointed out across from Banshee's entrance will indeed be where the lockers will be. (Not the area of the former Action Zone target, but the white structure recently in discussion.) It may look small, but keep in mind the perspective we all are getting of it right now if from a webcam on a structure far away and very high. It will look small from that vantage point, even if it is in fact a decent sized structure, which I think it is. I believe that the structure is definitely large enough for lockers, and I think it looks to be about the same same as Gatekeeper's. Plus I noticed some people saying how that structure doesn't look permanent enough. Well, look at any locker bay structure like Gatekeeper's. It looks very similar to this "mystery" structure by Banshee. 3)I believe the queue is also larger than some of you think it is. Keep in mind the perspective and vantage point of the camera that you are basing your assumptions on like I previously mentioned. Something that high up and that far away will make the queue area look smaller than it really is. And remember the picture taken of Banshee's queue a while back, the one that faced back to the valley? According to that picture alone, it looks as if that will be a pretty large area for a queue. Will Banshee's line stretch out into Action Zone? I believe this will be likely to happen especially on opening day and during Haunt, but I feel like the existing queue is very suitable to fit the crowds of normal park operation. Also keep in mind how quickly Cedar Fair's latest B&M, Gatekeeper's, line flies by. I am sure that Banshee will be just as good of a people eater as GK and that the line will be moving along very well. 4) For those of you going to Media Day, I would love it if you would be able to provide us with updates throughout the day such as ride reviews, pictures, and any other experiences or descriptions. All of us who aren't going I'm sure will greatly appreciate anything you tell us and show us! 5) Banshee is turning out to be an incredible addition, between its theming, exciting layout, and even aesthetics. Kings Island was already a great park before this addition, and now and into the future it will only be an even better family fun and thrill destination.

^This past week marks the 1 year anniversary from my very first Disney World and Universal trip. One year ago today I was at the Magic Kingdom and had the great honor of marching in the Main Street Electrical Parade with my marching band. That was one of the best experiences of my life and I will never forget it.

Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom, SFGAd
Ride On_17 replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I'm agreeing with Spectrum91, the trains shown in the renderings are facing the correct direction (as in going right to left over the crest). I'm not sure if it's because some of you are looking on these pictures on small cell phone screens that you're thinking the train is facing the opposite way, but enlarged on my computer screen, all of the renderings show the trains correctly positioned. -
These rides just sound...crazy. This Jersey park has had its share of fatalities and injuries, unfortunately. http://www.themeparktourist.com/features/20140403/17278/16-craziest-attractions-most-dangerous-theme-park-all-time Definitely not quite such a Great Advencha. I'll stick with El Toro.

For all of you complaining about DB getting seat belts if this rumor is true, I have an idea that might make you reconsider how you are viewing this as a negative. Personally if this happens, I don't see them as like a normal seatbelt like, let's say, Millennium Force where it crosses over your lap. Instead, I'm thinking of something more like, let's say Gatekeeper, where it doesn't actually go across your body but rather connects the restraints to the car. I could see DB's seat belts being attached to the ride car itself, with slots to lock them into place (sorry for lack of a technical term) attached to the clamshell lapbar. So it would just be another backup just in case for some reason the lap bar would fail. Having a seat belt like this would also allow for people to still fit and not have their airtime diminished since it will not actually come in contact with your body. Just my two cents.

I couldn't help but laugh at the quote underneath the picture. "A good roller coaster is better than sex." Seeing as it was the very first thing I read when I opened that link, I started to question what exactly I was going to be reading.

Xtreme Skyflyer recieves new paint scheme
Ride On_17 replied to TheBEASTunchained's topic in Kings Island
I never got to see it when it had lights on it but it sounds like it looked awesome. Hopefully some will be added to it. -
I love riddles, clues, mysteries, and that kind of stuff so speculation for new additions at amusement parks is really fun for me. I love trying to analyze every littler detail, whether to a crazy, unrealistic level or not, to try and decipher what is being built.

New in 2014 at Cedar Point!
Ride On_17 replied to kicsehlhorst's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Cedar Point also tweeted that vertical construction had started on Lake Erie Eagles today, and gave a cool picture. https://twitter.com/cedarpoint/status/448803287488561152/photo/1 Can it be May 10th yet? -

That would be a great idea. Likewise with Cedar Point. Several years ago when Carly Rae Jepsen performed on the Luminosity Stage, I was hoping that would be the start of a series of concerts at the park. I've been disappointed that there have been no other major concerts like that since. (excluding Point Fest)

As for this new ride, I still have no clue what it could be. The more I think about, the more I believe the Drop Tower theory. Something way taller than Zumanjaro would definitely grab people's attention and would get thrill seekers excited, especially if it's several hundred feet higher. I still think it will be a coaster though, since this is being announced so early, but I could be wrong. I can't wait for April 8th.

We just happened to be at the park last year while Spirit Song was going on. Besides enjoying a great concert while being on Drop Tower, from that vantage point it was clear that the entire amphitheater was filled. I doubt it will be going anywhere anytime soon.

Xtreme Skyflyer recieves new paint scheme
Ride On_17 replied to TheBEASTunchained's topic in Kings Island
I've never been on this type of ride before...even with all the times I've been to CP, I've never gone on RipCord. I really want to go on one though. They sound like they're unlike anything else and provide such a unique thrill. And Xtreme Skyflyer's new paint looks great! -
When you get followed by MaXound Paint Rave on Twitter. Yep, I'm totally planning on going to a rave soon. And one with neon paint. I hate when I get followed by random people/groups. But they usually correspond to what I tweet about which I find creepy. Like in this case, I just tweeted about having a fun night cosmic bowling and immediately after, I get followed by some paint rave. I guess they somehow saw I tweeted about cosmic bowling and assumed "Oh, this person must like bright neon things and having fun, so let's follow him." It's almost like these pages are stalking people and following whoever posts anything slightly related to their subject. Occasionally I end up following back the page the followed me if it's Ohio State or amusement park related, but I have one simple solution for all the others: Block!

Yep, KI posted the picture on their Twitter. The map is being discussed in this thread.

That's what was being discussed in several posts above yours.

I just posted this in the Banshee Construction thread but since it applies here too... "If you enlarge the map and look closely I think it looks like a shaded area, sort of like what is near Gatekeeper (by the Coke Freestyle and Yogurt Plus stores). I also find it interesting how this one sort of resembles a spiderweb...Adds to the whole creepy/dark feel of this area with Banshee and The Bat nearby too." I'm not sure whether the lockers will be here of it it will just be a seating area. I'm hoping for the latter but then I'm not sure where the lockers will be.
