This! I second this as it would be very cool and I'm guessing it's reasonable since it isn't used during the summer season. I'd also like to see it because I have not been in there since The Crypt closed as I'm not a fan of haunted houses.

I'm curious to hear why you doubt Cedar Fair will own KI by the 50th Anniversary. Would you mind sharing? (Not bashing just wondering)
-
Kings Island, definitely! Hopefully also a Kentucky Kingdom trip with friends. Finally, a major park other than KI that is close enough where I can drive there and back in the same day. (2 hours!)
-
Hopefully Don can make all of this clear because I would like to be able to tell my donators if I will definitely be given a spot or if I need to be in the top set of people to participate. I know that the charity part is the important part but some people would still like to know. Just how some people are in this day and age.
-
Ok thank you. ^ Wasn't sure haha. I also liked the fundraising idea so I signed up.
-
Once you sign up is it guaranteed that you will have a spot in the event (if you raise the $100 minimum) or is it just for whoever raises the most? Like if 300 sign up and there are only like 100 spots only the 100 top fundraisers get to participate? Or only the set amount of people allowed in can register?

And they just laid it back down. Switching from CJ to C or just moving it out of the way? Hmmm....
-
To be perfect honest with you, I HIGHLY doubt it. CJ is a pretty big crane, I don't think it would be practical to use such a crane, I bet it would be harder to do so also. Ah that's a good point. Didn't think about that, thank you. I appreciate it. I'd love to see AE get revamped. Maybe kind of like Knott's Log Flume revamp? As long as they keep the base theme with the revamp I'd be happy. But I'd also be open to something new. But I think I'd also rather get a new dark ride before getting a AE revamp. Just my own opinions.
-
Could CJ possibly be doing something with Adventure Express? It's been bent down by it for a few days. Not really sure, what do you guys think?

Corkscrews/Batwing on Vortex, Hammerhead on DBack, and Corkscrew on FoF.

I'd at least like to see Delirium get repainted in its same colors to brighten it up since it's paint is kind of faded. However, I'd really like to see it get a new color scheme. I'm not sure which new colors would work well but I'll leave that thinking to KI as they have their game plan set for this area.

Personally I'm really happy that the same trains will be used since I really like them. I haven't ridden in the floorless ones but I think I'd rather have our current set. I also have no issue with the same restraints being used. Overall I really like the new name/color theme and I think it will look excellent. I would like to see some kind of station retheme to make it fit with the name a little more, but if they don't I'm still happy with the name change and the new color scheme.

After my visits to Cedar Point, KI (home park!), and Six Flags Over Texas, the worst coaster I've ever ridden is Mantis. It just killed my lower legs....

I vote for Flight Deck, without hesitation. I knew Iron Dragon wouldn't be as intense when my family visited 2 summers ago, but "not as intense" is an understatement. Haha I was glad for the credit, but it was nothing special. It was pretty slow. Since I love flight deck, I look forward to some day visiting Canada's Wonderland for Vortex (and the other rides, of course).

9 Rides You Hated to See Leave Kings Island
Gemini XL-200 replied to XGatorHead 8904's topic in Kings Island
1) King Cobra, never got to ride it but I remember being little and always wanting to ride. I was about 4 when it was removed, but never the less I was sad to never get the chance to ride it. 2) Tomb Raider: The Ride (original programing). I wasn't super upset when the Crypt version was removed as it wasn't super special, but I wasn't the happiest when it went from it's original programming (as TR:TR) to it's last programming (The Crypt). 3) Backwards Racer, always special to me to take a ride during P&G day (before I started getting passes) on The Racer backwards. Nothing like it. Would love for it to come back. I can't think of any other rides that were removed that really upset me. Neutral on the removal of the Antique Cars, as I think Backlot is fun (although not fun enough to wait 20+ minutes for it). Edit: Was also neutral on the removal of SOB because although I personally loved it, I could see that our options were either remove it and get a new ride (Banshee!) or leave it standing and closed. I'd rather have something I can actually ride. -
I think pavers throughout the park would be a great idea. I agree, blacktop is ugly. So is splotchy concrete (ahem Cedar Point). Like The Interpreter said, welcome to KIC! I'm sure you'll like it on here. I wouldn't of thought to replace blacktop with brick pavers before they did in coney mall, but I love them and hope KI has plans in the future to replace more blacktop with more pavers. And thanks haha, I do love the site, like I said long time reader. I read practically every page in the decoding 2014 thread over the past months. Keeping up of course, I wouldn't want to read 50 pages at once haha. I think I met you in the Bier Gartens, then. Glad you decided to join! Probably haha. But with learning names (or in this case, usernames) not being my specialty, I'm not sure exactly which one you were. Oh well, everyone I met were very nice people, and I enjoyed hanging out with all of them.
-
Haha thanks man. Long time reader. I was told I should sign up on Thursday when I was at the park with Diamondbacker for the announcement when we met up with some KICers. Nice people haha.

Seems like a good thread for my first post. 2015: Complete re-theme/rename of Action Zone to match Banshee, and re-theme/repaint/rename of all rides there besides Banshee, obviously. 2016: A new flat ride or two. New coat of paint on Vortex and racer (returning racer to it's original color scheme). If the budget allows it, tearing up more blacktop to be replaced with more of those nice brick pavers in coney mall. 2017: General park improvements. Lot's of new paint all around (anywhere it could be used), and even more blacktop replacement with those brick pavers (what can I say, they look nice, and much better than blacktop). If budget allows, a revamp of the fountains to include a nice night show to tie in with the nightly fireworks. 2018: More general park improvement, possibly another flat ride added. Maybe modify Drop Tower to have seats that fold so you face the ground like on BGT's new Falcon Fury. 2019 coaster construction begins behind Banshee, building hype for it like Banshee. 2019: New Intamin Giga behind Banshee, utilizing SOB's station. If not an Intamin Giga, maybe a huge Mack Launcher, like Blue Fire. 2020: General Park Improvements, and step back to look at all of the addtions/revamps of the park and decide on future park additions/investments. Not saying the park looks bad, it looks great, but new paint never hurts to brighten things up haha.
