  1. Paper cups are not required for water. Water fountains do a fantastic job of allowing people to drink without a container. You are right though, it isn't comparable. One of these things is generally only given once per visit and has a chance to be reused or stored for later. Really though, the park needs recycling something fierce.
  2. No, but arguing we shouldn't have physical maps because of the waste is also a drop in the bucket compared to cups. I'll trade paper cups for the maps
  3. I hate having access to the thing I payed for too! I should just stop enjoying things that I purchased!
  4. I miss having maps, and it's hard to argue that they're bad for the environment when you compare to the amount of cups the park just tosses away each day. I'd be happy to pay a nominal fee for one of that helps slow waste, but I also don't want a 20+ dollar "collectors edition" map
  5. I'm excited and sceptical at the same time. I get they want interactivity on the ride kids get to feel they are participating. But honestly, I'd prefer an I-Spy ride. Make the ride about how much stuff you can secret into the experience. Granted they could do both, and I hope they do. Make each ride a little different by unlocking things you missed with the flashlight. But don't make the ride generic blast everything and nothing new happens
  6. I know the idea I've heard is that each switchback is supposedly an estimated amount of time, which is effectively an amount of people, so there has to be a number
  7. My kids have been in line/on car for the antique cars for over an hour. A full line, overflowing into the walk way, 1 person delivering cars. This is a joke. Brewhouse has so many orders in the kitchen they ran out of buzzers and the line is still out the door. It's the last friday of regular summer hours, on a holiday weekend and they're seemingly running half staff
  8. A documentary back in the day I watched would probably call it "faux-que". BBQ sauce with a smoke marinate, cooked delicately with care for 2 hours, then placed under a heat lamp for 9 hours for you to dehydrate your mouth.
  9. The building is too small do to a fancy dark ride like the Mickey and Minnie runaway railway Hollywood Studios. But that would work well I think. Keeping in the same vein as Phantom Theatre and Boo Blasters, but more dynamic and easier to maintain I think as it's most lights and not animatronics.
  10. I really liked the Tricks and Treats event when they had it in Soak City. Granted I understand from a logistics POV that's a huge thing for staying to cover an entire extra section of the park. But really when they moved it over to kiddie land, everything just got smaller and smaller and more crowded. I wish they'd expand the treat areas to the entire park like a scavenger hunt.
  11. It's an upcharge that will see no benefit to the customers. I can say with near certainly that even with the increase in revenue the mazes will at best be as staffed as last year, probably fewer roaming actors, and yes the line to guest services will be giant. The amount of kids I see chatting with security about the escort curfew rule is impressive, almost none of the park goers will know this change exists. But I, like another poster said, keep paying knowing this is unethical, but I personal do my best to keep the profit they get off me to a minimum. But even with that, this is getting ridiculous. I can see the park lawyers cheering in the streets when one of them thought up "passes get you to haunt, but the maxed aren't The Haunt, they are just part of it". I'm waiting for next year when the passes we pay 300+ bucks for gets us into the park and the rides start to cost 3-5 tickets per person like a carnival.
  12. Is white water canyon super busted? Rode by in the train today and it was completely drained.
  13. I was actually just watching a video on YouTube from one of the coaster enthusiasts ranking the top 10 parks in the US. Notably Holiday World was 10, Cedar Point was 2 and KI was first. The main comments made were that CP is clearly CF/SF first child and therefore favorite, but it has too many operational issues. KI has a lot of stuff to do, more than just coasters. Flat rides, shows, water rides, water park, one of the best kids areas. The main issue is that CF/SF, to me, always kind of acts annoyed that KI pulls the numbers it does.
  14. These are really good actually
  15. I did overhead some of the employees at French Corner discussing trying to find more hours with the cuts on weekdays
  16. My wife sent me this, not sure if the truth behind it, but if it's accurate is the beginning of the end for my pass holder streak.
  17. I'm still hoping I can find an employee to sell me the employee version of the anniversary floppy hat, which is not the same as the one sold in stores.
  18. I want to graduate highschool, which I managed to do in 2004
  19. Had some coneys from Skyline yesterday, possible the most disappointing coney I've had in my entire life. Stale bun, cold dog, wads of cheese instead of shreds, and only half the coney had chili on it and it was half what it should have been.
  20. Only open during Food and Wine, only available to patrons over 21, for a minimal cost of 29.99, complimentary sleeve of saltines.
  21. Well this day was a giant waste of time. 2 hours at the park and all I managed to do was get chips from the VIP area. Got to watch my 9 year old be told by 3 employees and the sign at the start of Delirium that she was 52 inches tall then wait for 40 minutes to get pulled off the ride and kicked out
  22. This initial push is hilariously badly planned. Just pushing people inbetween detectors and check in, just standing around, no plan, no lines, just pushing more and more people in.
  23. Well well well, looks like ours got a pretty big overhaul https://local12.com/news/local/kings-island-cincinnati-queen-city-stunt-coaster-backlot-announces-reimaged-ride-will-have-guests-racing-through-streets-season-passholders-opening-day-celebration-classic-coasters-experience-announcements-consumer
  24. I used to do this for a while, I got pretty close to trying every single meal plan meal in the park, but sometimes some items just don't sound good. Grain and Grill is consistently empty but surprisingly good. They really need a second skyline too
