^i keep hoping they will start letting gold pass holders in free. I actually like the area (when things are working) and would go through more if it were free. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What makes you an apparent expert? Do you work at or for a park? Engineer? Work for a manufacturer? Educated about roller coasters? I know nothing about you at all, so this is asked out of a serious inquiry, not a slam to dis you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Shhhhhh! Don't tell the others that KIC has more than one forum thread - some newbies have almost 100 posts, and every one is in that thread.http://www.KICentral.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/biggrin.gifNow on to my serious comments about this thread. As an admitted fan of SoB, I think I've finally come to realize that what I remember and loved - the drop, the speed, the forces, the loop, the majesty - is a ride that doesn't exist any more and will never exist again. If this, or any retrofit, ever comes to SoB - it will become a new and different ride that will be so radically changed as to be unrecognizable (New Texas Giant is similar in two words of its name only to Texas Giant). My current hope is that at some point (2012, 2013, 2015 or beyond) Kings Island will put a new coaster in the spot currently occupied by SBNO that will provide me a new opportunity to experience something special. This may be it, or not - I'm willing to wait and see. This post made me laugh. Skipped right over 2014, but is getting his/her wish of a new coaster in its place. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes on all accounts but one. I call out people for not knowing what they are talking about and try to play it off like they do. I am learning a lot about various facets of coasters. I love riding them, but delving into the engineering of it all is brand new to me. If you have more knowledge on said topic, instead of busting his chops, tell me and the rest of the forum why. I love being educated on things. This is a forum of enthusiasts and I guarantee if you have knowledge, others would like to know. If you have knowledge or contrary information, share it and let it be debated. As I have seen people on this forum love a debate. You come across that you just do not like him. I get you may not like him, because I have a feeling you aren't on his Christmas card list either. If you are going to call someone out, rise above the cattiness of a 15 year old girl and share with us your vast amounts of knowledge. I personally would like to hear what you have to say. We would have been in a world of hurt if we got locked out. Can you imagine the looks on the faces of people in the lobby with a group of people running in from the cold?! It would be funnier to see than to do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Does this mean he could potentially return for Haunt? Or is Haunt technically regular season?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Possibly. And I believe that Haunt is part of the regular season. But I could be wrong.Haunt is not part of the regular season. When saying regular season, I'm talking about daily operations. I am not trying to twist words, but that gives me a slight amount of hope Ed will possibly return during Haunt. I can say that I enjoyed his Haunt shows because he seemed to be in his element more than his 8th grade, potty humor shows (which I think are great, too.) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I am hoping to upgrade to a Platinum pass and make a couple trips to CP. If I upgrade, we will find a way to go to at least one more park, just not sure which one. I am sure a trip to Kentucky Kingdom will happen, too. Of course, Kings Island, too.

I was 7. I remember the snow some, but the calls much more. My brother and I were not allowed to answer the phone. You really don't grasp how serious people take the weather until you are on the receiving end of their hate. (I am sure people get it to a degree, but not to the degree we understand.) So, I hope that Lucas either becomes the most accurate weatherman ever or he chooses a different path. I hate wearing a coat to this day because of the Bob Gregory winter commercials from the 70's and 80's. I was very shy back then and know people made fun of people that really bundled up in the winter time calling them, "Bob Gregory kids". The fear of them finding out not only was I a "Bob Gregory kid" because I bundled up, but to compact that with if they found out I was truly a "Bob Gregory kid". That was traumatic for someone painfully shy. (It's hilarious now.) - EDIT: For those of you who have met me, you probably know I am not shy now. Commercial of what I feared: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdxVbgaJvBM Dad also worked at Ford with Bob McClain who shared the name of another weatherman in the Indianapolis area.

Corbin has minimal to offer that is great employment overall (even though there is more there now as well.) So, you are probably right as far as being fortunate. I have had assorted other family that have worked for the railroad in that area. I think that was probably the most lucrative of jobs back years ago. Oh, and the coal mines. I have no connections with Oak Brook. -
The topic of donkeys has become the Miley Cyrus of KIC. It's truly annoying, yet we keep talking about it. It was a topic of much annoyance. It was even annoying talking about it during our get together and the only negative thing that happened that weekend (and that includes our detour in a ditch). It's not offensive necessarily, it is a little concerning to have such an infatuation towards such things. I get running jokes (i.e. teasing Lucas about JB/1D and being a weatherman). I know that I was told specifically if there is an abundance of complaints towards an individual, then they will get banned. (Maybe this was a warning for me and I did not pick up on the hint. I just know that is what I was told.)

This was the point if my other topic. It's really cool seeing so many people have connections. In Corbin, my family are Roaden, Jones, Keegan, Miller and others. My mom was raised in Bacon Creek. Monticello - Adkins, Gregory, Jones, Bertram Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
When we are heading to KI or other parks, you need to let people know what to ride on your behalf. We can do a tally of how many rides for Devan we do collectively.

Don't think I've shared this, but did you ever watch Bob Gregory on the local news when you were in Indiana? Back in '78 when we had the blizzard, dear old Bob missed the forecast (and still kept his job.) Well, my dads name was Bob Gregory. He was not the weather man, he worked for Ford. Apparently, people presumed the weather man had his phone number listed in the phone book because we got call after call after profanity laden call. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Monticello, Kentucky? That is cool. Well, with all honesty, I have no idea what they had there then or where in the world you could have interviewed at because even now, there is not a lot of decent jobs there. They do have a really good Mexican restaurant by Walmart. I still have a lot of cousins, aunts and uncles that live there. My dad was born actually in Slick Ford which was in the middle of now where south of Monticello on top of a mountain. A friend of mine told me his uncle had started a Christian camp in Monticello. Seemed like an odd place to start one, but I could not place where it was. Last fall, we went to a funeral of an aunt and the cemetery was as far away from civilization that I have ever been in my life. About 5 miles before the cemetery (which was really the middle of no where), was this camp. My friend was amazed we found it because people looking for it cannot find it. Dad was raised in Missouri Hollow (pronounced Misery Holler which if said that way used to sum up my summers down there) if you are familiar with the area. They actually made national headlines in 2012. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/woman-stuck-toilet-super-glue-kentucky-walmart-article-1.1099702 My mom is from Corbin. It is where they built the first KFC. My grandpa used to deliver groceries to dear ol' Harland Sanders. From what I understand, he was not a very nice man. I still love me some KFC though. I have a cousin who lives on one of "roads" that goes to one of the docks to Lake Cumberland, unless he sold that when his dad died. I've not heard that he has done it. That is a beautiful lake. Somerset really has grown in leaps in bounds. I love going to the Falls when we are down there. -

I have family in and around Somerset. Dad was from Monticello, about 20 miles south of there. -
I think the expression on his face was wonderful. I can't wait to see the video. (Thank you Lucas for taking the teasing well.)
