  1. It was pouring rain when I rode Mystic Timbers and I thought that added to the experience!
  2. If you guys get there super early, where you are waiting in line to park, and book it the entire time, you might be able to get a fast ride on Mystic Timbers. This past Saturday, we were able to get on MT within 5 minutes.
  3. I will be honest. I love rollercoasters, but I know nothing about the companies who build them.
  4. I was worried about the same thing on Saturday. The website had said processing hours began at 10am. However, they were opened right as we were allowed to park.
  5. I am not sure how confused one would be, but if they were were, assuming Mystic Timbers were to the first ride they hit up, it wouldn't be for long. All you would have to do is look at the ride logos and memorabilia. But even if it goes over someone's head, I doubt it would ruin the ride for them.
  6. That's why I really don't like going to KI on the weekend. Tuesday and Wednesday mornings is where it's it at.
  7. I like the music. Die contemporary pop music, die.! Muhahahahahahaha!
  8. For me, re-designing The Beast is as warranted as what they did to Star Wars in 1997. The Beast is great as it is and has historical significance to the park.
  9. Mystic Timbers is smooth and has great theming. However, The Beast is well-paced and gives us a longer ride, taking us on an adventure.
  10. I couldn't really make out what the dialogue was saying except for the warning. I do hope they turn the audio up, but I love the extra mile. I hope KI/CF continue to theme rides this way! By the way, one of the Mystic Timbers tees, a design with the shed in the back and the truck in the front, reminds me of the poster for Christine.
  11. They were playing George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue down International Street this morning! I always loved this piece. For those who don't know, it was used in Fantasia 2000 for the sequence that involved a busy city and also appeared in Woody Allen's Manhattan and Gremlins 2 and really fits this part of the park rather well. (Plus, I am a sucker for classical music, as well as classic rock, both of which I love hearing in the park. Contemporary pop can take a long walk off a short pier for all I'm concerned )
  12. Oh, so the creature changes every time? If I recall, the song that played for me was "Cars" by Gary Numan. Can't wait to hear what others songs are played in the shed!
  13. The ride itself was amazing, but I wouldn't get your hopes up for the shed. It's interesting and the atmosphere is cool, and something does happen, but it's nothing too cool. Part of me wishes there was a fake tree with glowing eyes in the shed, but what we got was interesting.
  14. Most of what you mention is a management issue and you definitely have the right to complain to them. But there is a level of understanding and calmness that comes with constructive criticism, otherwise it will just sound like senseless hate and aggressive whining to most people.
  15. I always wondered why people get so upset when they go to a busy amusement park knowing there will be long lines and then complain when they find a busy amusement park with long lines. Patience is not just a virtue, it's a sign of being an adult, a gentleman. Waiting ten minutes at The Chicken Shack is hardly something to get worked up about or even complain about. At all.
  16. Usually with the coasters, the mystery is "What's it like to ride?" But Mystic Timbers does have a genuine mystery to it, which has been a HUGE part of the marketing for the ride, and I'm sure KI, who has a presence on this board, would like that allure to exist for at least a few days past opening day. I think, at the very least, as far as this forum goes, maybe there can be just a "Spoilers! What did you think of the shed?" thread for a few days.
  17. Well, that Flight Deck cue is so long, you could probably have a flat ride or two on the way to the coaster.
  18. For me, The Racer is like time traveling. When I ride it, I like it to imagine I'm in the 70s/early 80s riding a classic rollercoaster. It's escapism.
  19. It's probably not a priority. They think the pop music appeals to younger people. It probably does, though I doubt they'd rush out of the park and never come back if they played something else. I don't think any of us would, because very few people go to amusement parks for music. It's just fun to dream of better music at the park, that's all. Of course, the park does have better music, last I've experienced, at least. It's just exclusive to The Racer's cue.
  20. They would almost certainly have to. They used to use an early cue from Raiders of the Lost Ark for Adventure Express, a cue from Independence Day for The Beast, and later a cue from Lost for, once again, The Beast. Plus, they have quite a few songs from movies for Halloween Haunt.
  21. I think a little variety would go a long way. I definitely think those two areas could use their own style of music. In fact, I'll add Coney Mall to the list, as well.
  22. FunTV plays various songs in the line queues, somewhat relevant to the season. For example, they play CCR's I Put a Spell On You. Throughout the park, you hear pieces from various horror and Halloween related films, such as the original Poltergeist, Beetlejuice, Independence Day, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and a couple of others. (I am a film score buff lol ) IMO, it's the best time of year for KI's music, because it helps give the park so much atmosphere and adds to the escapism.
  23. Eh, BLSC, it's okay. It's worth a small thrill when the line is short, but isn't worth waiting longer than 5 minutes. I don't necessarily want to see it go, but if it were removed, I'd probably just shrug my shoulders. I would't have a freakout like, say, The Beast or Racer were removed. It's just not at a good place in the park and I think having something like Antique Cars or some sort of historical attraction that takes you through the park's history or a new dark ride would give KI more variety.
  24. That's why I liked the film score medleys of the Paramount era. Amusement parks are escapism, like films. It made the park feel magical and exciting and different from everywhere else you go. I don't like hearing the same crap I hear everywhere else. Because they are songs you literally hear everywhere. P.S. I understand the politics behind it and the why of it. It just is annoying to me. I can still hear that Kings of Leon song playing in my head from hearing it so much at the park. That's not the memory I like to take home from KI. x_x
  25. I really love the theming. Is it just me or does "spooky/supernatural themes" fit perfectly with amusement parks? Maybe I've seen too much Scooby Doo!
