RMC didn't build the launch, they originally were going to use a flywheel, but from what I heard, Dollywood broke the contract and decided to go with a LSM launch by a company that never built a launch before (Velocity) , so Lightning Rod isn't really the fault of RMC in my opinion, then B&M didn't build Incredible Hulk's launch either, I'm shocked Thunderbird worked so well considering that was B&Ms first launch coaster.

Can't argue with that, the launch system for Intamin accelerator coasters take around a year and a half to build(from what I remember reading, and that's JUST the launch, so something very serious clearly happened.
-
A certain Intamin coaster in the Cedar Fair chain has been closed for about a year now lol (I've heard that there are signs the ride is going to reopen soon, so that's good!)
-
^ I would have to disagree (for the recent reliability part), I've heard great things about the reliability of Taron, I know they recently struggled with the water coaster at Energylandia though (that almost opened an entire year late...)
-
Inverted coasters, floorless coasters, dive coasters? EDIT: also higher capacity flying coasters
-
I'd rather have a Mack type just because of reliability concerns, but I don't really want a giga, and I feel like a Mack terrain launch coaster would be so much more unique.

You guys are acting like the Vekoma layout wasn't good, I voted for the Intamin, but the Vekoma layout was decent and provided what looked like great airtime!
-
I would take something like Lech Coaster over a giga tbh... Vekoma is going to make it's comeback eventually, and Lech coaster was less than 6 million USD...

Closure of Dinosaurs Alive and opening of lots of land.

You can say that, but there's no denying they have a much broader appeal, the restraints are *probably* more comfortable than the average Intamin vest restraint, and also they've built way more than two recently, also their hyper coasters are doing extremely well. -
I think the audio is kind of cool, it's a remix of what's heard in line, the shed, and the lift hill.
-
Na, both B&M coasters, Dueling Dragons! Then have a Mack Megacoaster like Icon going in and out!
-
I think if KI were to get a dive coaster, it would be a good spot in X-Base, but please, no vests on this one, please!
-
I'm pretty sure the only reason Dinos left is because the contract was up, I guess we will see if other parks remove their dinos alive next year...

I've been on quite a few decent Vekoma and Arrow rides, so I can't complain, the Vekoma credits I have are not terrible rides, Thunderhawk at Michigan's Adventure is a ride where I got zero headbang on, and it was relatively smooth, I'm not sure about the others since I have only been on one SLC (T3 was closed), then Carolina Cobra or whatever they are calling it today was pretty smooth, then KI's Vekoma rides are not terrible other than sometimes depending on how it happens to be running, Invertigo (EDIT: forgot the Vekoma hang n bangs, plus Nighthawk! those things can burn). Same goes for Arrow, Magnum ranks in my top 10, Tenessee Tornado and Vortex (KI) are very fun rides!

Take with a grain of salt, these are sometimes not the most reliable. http://www.teaconnect.org/images/files/TEA_103_49736_150603.pdf

The main draw to Cedar Point is the fact that they call themselves "the roller coaster capital of the world" and I wouldn't say the main draw is Valravn or one particular coaster, back on topic now, I actually don't think we are going to get a Giga, I don't want to be "that guy", but why does this rumor not die? Clearly, Mystic Timbers wasn't a Giga coaster, and Banshee wasn't a Giga coaster? Also, Banshee raised attendance by 1%, I don't think that's worth the 24 million dollar investment, I'm curious to see how Mystic Timbers does with attendance.

Does the park even know when it's going to reopen? Also, I hope you're having fun in SoCal!

I personally think CP will be doing something more along the lines of Kings Dominion

Article on Gravity Group

That would be my dream come true... -
Actually, it wasn't just the launch system, RMC put new wireless sensors on the trains, last year during the offseason, they took those off, that's why the ride has been way more reliable than it was in 2016.
-
To be fair, I really think they should have renamed Skyhawk to Professor Delbert's Frontier Fling, I really think it fits more than Ripcord, or that's a great name for a flying coaster.

So... is KIC ever going to create a podcast?
rhyano replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KICentral Footnotes & Small News
That would be great! Though can we have it on Spotify too? -
I really think that if Hangtime takes off at Knotts, I would like something like Mystery Mine (or just knock the building down completely) with lapbar restraints, but in Infinity coaster form, something very compact and something that can easily have a story to go along with the attraction, either that or a Mack Powersplash (Pulsar), it can be marketed as Kings Island's 17th coaster, a launch coaster, and water ride.
