Matt Ouimet Talks About Cedar Fair
WindingSon replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
The first sentence of the answer to the last question almost made me spit out my drink. I thought it was a Terpy joke. -
Are the Dinosaurs Alive? They certainly weren't when I went through last year.
-
Been a lot of bad weather days in the first half of the season. No FUN.

^ Or the promotion has proven more successful than they thought. Likely a combination of things. Doesn't look like they're having much trouble with attendance today. Diamondback's line is out of the entrance, Banshee looks to have a good line. They need to open up the rest of the Diamondback queue though.

Cannibal : NEW at Lagoon in 2015
WindingSon replied to TheBEASTunchained's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
If it's anything like Wicked, they will load several trains at once, ready to have them go up the lift the second they can. Which helps increase capacity. -
Thunderbird has launched!

"Free" parking and "free" drinks. I think Holiday World will keep that tradition going. Not every change is for the worse. Not every change is for the better. Until I know more about the premium season pass, I'll hold judgement. Now what's this about Voyage's second half? -
Glad to see them putting a little TLC into FoF. It always seemed to be neglected for as popular as the ride remains.

Almost there. -
It's been 6 since Son of Beast last operated. Think of the spared necks, Terp.

Whither Conneaut Lake Park Now?
WindingSon replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I want to see the park survive. I really do. But this one sounds like it's been horribly mismanaged for such a long time with no money to be had that it's a wonder it's still around. The local government also sounds like they've had it with the park and are just waiting to pick the bones once it's officially dead. Sad. Long live Blue Streak. Long live the Pretzel at Bushkill too. But you know how that one ended. -
Whither Conneaut Lake Park Now?
WindingSon replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Unless they'd rather have it be a residential property. -
Not all of us are old enough to remember when rides didn't have restraints, Terpy.
-
I have noticed The Vortex crew being on point this year. Not uncommon to have a train on the lift before the one on track hits the pre-Corkscrew brake.
-
Terp just HAD to, didn't he?
-
Look what I just found
-
And Lagoon just plopped Cannibal where their's used to be.
-
So it's not in the way ... ... Until someone decides that it is.

I think both (as in they have more than one, novel for a regional park) of Lagoon's non-interactive dark rides are much more enjoyable than Boo Blasters. Have some decent scares in 'em too. And the newest of them was built in the 70's. When Terp was a young'n and the goats still grazed under the Roller Coaster.

My wish has been granted.

I'm taking credit for this. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/29795-current-wait-times/page-34#entry686655

Hopefully to install CP-style full motion video cameras. Hey, one can wish.

Was The Bat not enough? I think an old ride coming back is the least likely scenario. Unless there's a new model that they're willing to take a risk on, like the new HUSS Enterprise.

Even though I haven't been to many theme parks, I do have to shout out Kings Island's policy on single riders. My girlfriend does not enjoy roller coasters like I do (though with my encouragement I hope to break that), and dragging a friend out with me is not as easy as I'd like, so I very often ride as a single on rides. Kings Island has never once given me an ounce of guff about riding alone, which always makes my day a little bit better. Thanks for that, KI.
