I'm sure many people will be happy with this but it's not my cup of tea. I've been to QSL at least three times, all different locations. The last time, I said never again. Each visit involved subpar service and mediocre food for the price. But, from friends that go there, they are going for a bike night or the special deals on wings. I'm okay with not being their target audience.

Personally, I do my best not to touch my face when at the park (or anywhere for that matter) and wash my hands before eating. As for any table outside my home, there are plates, napkins and other food wrappers that are between my food and the table. If my food touches the table, I don't eat it. Overly cautious? Yes, but I'm going to try to limit my intake of germs without involving anti-bacterial solutions. What is a different solution than the hand air dryer? There are pros and cons for paper towels, air dryers, and even the "wipe my hands on my clothes.". Which option is the lesser of the 2-3 evils? Edited to ask question and add some missing letters.

Which you have because of said Germy People and the millions of other ways you come into contact with Germs every second of your life. Absolutely! But I've also seen the devastating effects of "normal" germs to someone with no immune system. We have to be smart, and sometimes seemingly cautious, about our interactions with the world and people around us.

That's what I had assumed too. What year did they make the change from hunter green to the current color?

If you never want to go in a public restroom again, there have been a few studies about the industrial toilets, their spray and C. diff. It frustrates me that so many hospitals still have hand sanitizer out when most prohibit their staff from using it. In anyone wants to travel further down the germ rabbit hole, read on. I find it interesting what some hospitals will do to prevent the spread of germs from one patient to another. I like seeing doctors either with no tie or a bow tie - think about all their patients and surfaces that their tie has touched in a day. Doctors and nurses washing their hands as the first and last thing they do in a patient's room. Keeping sets of equipment in the patient room so it doesn't get moved from room to room - such as the stethoscope, pressure cuffs, thermometer, and computer station. Even something as simple as having one patient per room can make a huge difference in the patient's health, both physical and mental. So can sending them home as soon as they are stable enough to recover at home. The amount of infections patients can get while IN the hospital is staggering. Thanks to the presence of legionella in some water systems, patients can't use tap water for anything and are given sterile water to brush their teeth and rinse their toothbrush. People are germy. Very very germy. I'm very grateful for a healthy immune system.

I was reminded tonight of my friend's hard tack candy. She and her mom would bake and cook treats and she would come to high school with goodies to share. It was such a fun treat!

All that nasty airborne germs and bacteria aren't normally something to be afraid of, unless you are already sick or have an otherwise suppressed immune system. We should be thankful for our nose hair and mucus as they work together to catch lots of those nasty germs, dirt and other molecules we breathe in every day. And boogers? That is mucus collected around that bad stuff, preventing it from going into our lungs. I love the human body! Oh...and be careful of where you store your toothbrush. Putting the toilet lid down before flushing is a smart idea.

My mom would make fudge (peanut butter was my favorite), caramel, and this ridiculous white chocolate chex mix mixture. She would make massive amounts to give away to everyone. It's been 11 years since I've had her versions of these recipes. Other than those, there really isn't a dessert that screams Christmas for me. For our family Christmas party, I'll bake whatever my aunts or cousins request.

Ark Encounter Contract Signed
electricsun replied to Oldiesmann's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I imagine that from their perspective, a lawsuit would be largely a marketing/fundraising tool. Use it to get the word out about their plans to a larger market, cry that their message is being silenced by the government because they are Christians, and the money will come in from a select/vocal community. -
Mystery Object (Track, Supports, or something else?)

Hmmm...don't go under any bridges either. I think it's a bit tall for the 14' clearance. -
I'm surprised at the proposal. Apartments in that location doesn't quite make sense. If it goes through, I imagine that there will probably be noise complaints about I-71, traffic complaints May through October, and complaints about fireworks. It doesn't matter that they picked that location to live and KI is long time fixture. It happened in Columbus with Polaris/Germain Amphitheater. That was with people that bought houses in the area after the concert venue was built. Folks complained about Cooper Stadium - and anything proposed to be there after it moved - on the basis of sound, even though 70 is a few hundred feet from the location. It says the zoning decision will be made on December 18th...we'll find out soon.

I agree; it is strange that they never said anything. But we were always the only people in there. We also all worked with kids in a theater space so we were pretty good at being aware of who and what was around us. I think what helped us was that is was always a weeknight, after 6pm, and we were all in our early to mid-twenties, we were spending some money, and that they really didn't care. We were (and many still are) just kids at heart and so it made sense to play with those silly games than try to figure out how to afford Dave & Busters. I went to a friend's party for his daughter at the North Canton Chuck E Cheese 6 years ago and that was run very different from the west side one. No wristbands but we did have to get stamped and checked as we left.

9 summers ago, my group of friends from work had at least 2 "birthday" parties at the one on the west side of Columbus. We would go in, buy a bunch of tokens, a pizza, and just play on a random weeknight. There were never kids around, just bored high school employees that I'm sure were rolling their eyes at the ridiculousness that was our group.

I think they were regular bees. Kings Island wasn't the only place that had issues with bees this fall. I went to Carillon Park and they had an outside patio closed because of bees. I've learned to be very cautious in reading reviews. Some people tend to have unrealistic expectations, especially with hotels. Don't expect a Hilton experience when staying at an economy level hotel.

I would love to have a Wild Mouse closer to home. As of now, I head to Carowinds for that experience. There is something exhilarating and slightly terrifying about being whipped around those turns. I laugh so hard on that ride while holding on tight. I would ride a spinning Wild Mouse ride at least once. I've only been on one spinning coaster, Sierra Sidewinder, and that was a one time only thing for me. The first few spins were fine; the fact that the spins didn't stop wasn't fine.

Watch out for beatles. If they've really caught on, sometimes you just have to let it be. Those really make the Spice Girls squeamish. Or could it be the ricochet from their high notes? And come next March, I don't think they'll be born to run to Thunder Road. Now, to bake a cake. Not Cake, but a cake.

I'm a bit confused. How do they know your two hours are up? Are there colored wristbands? Tags that they scan before an activity to make sure you're good? I tried looking on their website and Facebook page but couldn't find out other than you can add hours.

Shawnee State Park is great. My only visit was at springtime for a conference and it was lovely. We went on a flower walk with a quite passionate naturalist that had us walking up and down the side of trails to see rare flowers. The Floodwall Mural is worth a stop. I wish I had spent more time looking at all the details. My coworkers enjoyed the Portsmouth Brewing Company.

I must just be easily amused. I may not love certain cities but I can almost always find something redeeming about it. I think that traveling as much as I have to areas that most people have no reason to visit may play a big part in my perspective. Ohio is home to numerous museums - science, art, history, aviation, space, strange local museums. We have strong state and metro park systems. There are six zoos. It seems as though there is fair or festival for almost everything from April through December. Did you know there is a Duct Tape Festival?! And if you give me a city, I can normally give you something quirky to check out within an hour of it. But again, I'm easily amused so it doesn't take too much to entertain me. 24 reasons you should stop underestimating Ohio: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/03/04/visit-ohio_n_4866946.html Virtual Tourist has "Off the Beaten Path" tips about many cities. Even though it hasn't updated in a few years, it may still be a good resource. Cincinnati: http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/North_America/United_States_of_America/Ohio/Cincinnati-844987/Off_the_Beaten_Path-Cincinnati-TG-C-1.html For the last few years, I've tried to do things that force me to leave work at a reasonable time and to leave the house on the weekend. I've resorted to taking different classes such as cake decorating, sewing, painting, ice skating, and even a day long survival class. While may not be an expert or even excel in the classes, it forces me out of my comfort zone and I get to try new things. And of course, there are lots of visits to different museums and the Columbus Zoo. Edited to add...check out your local metro parks. The Columbus Metro Parks have a nice selection of programs that are free. I've been to several and they were fun.
