I know for sure there probably isn't one for Blackout (would be kind of boring I suppose) but the rest I have not heard that there is one this year.

Kings Island overall food concession experience 2015
Skyrider replied to Tr0y's topic in Kings Island
I think what could help the food service experience besides more training is more cash registers open. So many times this season they only had one cashier at places like Hanks and LaRosa's even though more registers are available. Also do trays even exists anywhere besides Skyline on International Street and maybe the Festhaus (not Panda Express)? So many places like Hanks and Panda Express NEVER have trays---they need to stock up on getting more trays and maybe even color code them so that each place gets their trays back. Lines would be shorter if one person or two could get the food for everyone in the family. Please buy more trays or figure out why certain stands never have them and come up with a solution like color coding the trays. -
I went through Blackout last night and was in the front of the group. I thought the experience was really cool and a big improvement over Club Blood in regards to the scare factor. For those thinking the maze is complete dark the whole time it is not. There are flashes of light and things to see and touch! I would recommend this haunt and liked their creativity in designing it.

I volunteered last year at the 5K Glow Run and the attendance was not that busy. I am glad to see it back as the company that was helping to put it on was disappointed at the turnout and even said they might not have the 5K anymore because not that many people signed up compared to the half and full marathon on the other days. If I remember advertising was not as strong as it was this year. I was glad to see the event advertised on the big park sign over the summer. I would say going that Friday would be much better than going on a Saturday. Unfortunately I cannot volunteer again this year for the 5K as I have a work event that night but it was really cool volunteering back behind the scenes near The Beast. There were fog machines and the fog was lurking between the wooden supports and track of The Beast. I hope you try going Friday night and have a great time!

Behind the scenes there are some real hilly parts that people could ski. I found that out last year while volunteering for the 5K Glow Run by The Beast going into Soak City. There is one HUGE hill all it needs is snow!

I am a little surprised why it isn't used for some type of Haunt Attraction---killer dinos with crazed cave people. Just kidding or am I?

A Peanut Dark Ride makes more sense where Boo Blasters is. How about bring back an updated Phantom Theatre in the Crypt building (change the front of it) and make it a dark ride like Dark Kastle at Bush Gardens Virginia. Moving cars with projectors screens and using special 3D effects! They must still have the old Sponge Bob 3D glasses left from Action Theatre

I thought for a second this was Busch Gardens jumping down the Island's throat because they share(d) the exact same attraction with almost the exact same name (Howl-O-Scream's was called Delta Epsilon Delta), but that sorority house is no longer in Tampa. Guess it just boiled down to an actual Delta Delta Delta sorority getting mad and saying, "Hey, stop it", and Kings Island responding with, "Okay." EDIT: Cool to see Busch Gardens with their own take on Knott's Infected attraction where you have laser guns and take down zombies. Its a good idea that they didn't change the name to Scream Queens or they would have the same problem as DDD. Sorority House seems too generic though. How about Sorority House Vampires in honor of Club Blood!

I know I have said this before....No need for the entire park to be open at Kings Island to have a winter event again. I think having the fountain open for ice skating again, shops on IS open, restaurant above entrance open, and maybe carriage rides offered around International street. Dinner show A Charlie Brown Christmas in the Festhaus or holiday show in the indoor theatre with high school choirs and charge like $10 for non-season pass holders to get in with free parking and it could be a success. Open only Friday night, Saturdays, and Sundays and during winter break for schools. Much smaller number of employees needed so costs low and potential profits high. Over course this is not for thrill seekers but for those that like to see lights, ice skate, shop, be entertained, and eat with family and friends. The Beach has Snow Mountain coming back and the Cincinnati Zoo is packed at wintertime so there is a market for type of winter event like this. I also realize there are strong opinions on both sides of this so try to consider others peoples points of view. Realize a small version of Winterfest has never been tried and I see the possibility of not an all (entire park open) option as a real viable possibility.

Thanks for the compliment! I thought it was a nice addition to the Tower and nice to see something new at The Haunt this year. I hope this is the start of KI adding new things to The Haunt as some of the mazes and shows have been around awhile and it would be great to see two or three of them re-themed next year.

Very creative! How did you make this video so fast? It had me smiling and laughing. I live pretty close to Kings Island so I hope that he is not watching me with his Eiffel Tower Eyes!!!

Thank you for sharing this info. I had no idea that they offered this to All Season Dining Plan holders for only $5. That is a great deal and I like deals so I will have to check this out next time!
-
Not sure as I did not try to go up the Tower Saturday night. I thought I saw people up there if I recall correctly but I am not positive.

I noticed that this year at The Haunt they added red glowing eyes on the top of the Eiffel Tower. I like the eyes added what do others think?

I was there Saturday night and noticed no train too. Maybe they think people will go through the haunt faster without having to board and exit the train. However I liked the fact that you got to ride the train and it fit well with the theme of the haunt attraction. I wonder if they made the path longer or if they just eliminated the train ride. I hope to try it the next time I go to The Haunt. It was so crowded on Saturday night (which I expected so no complaints) and hope to go on a Friday night when it is less crowded. Went and ate at Reds Grill, went through Madame Fatales (fast line) and saw Monsters Rock.

Tropical Plunge - NEW for 2016!
Skyrider replied to Italian Job 2005's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
No need for Pothole Plunge!!! -
Could you please tell me how much is the processing fee if renewing online? I usually renew at the park and pay in full which I assume is the cheaper option. Making payments is attractive but if it cost a lot more it is probably not worth it since only renewing one pass. Thought I would ask though just in case.

Tropical Plunge - NEW for 2016!
Skyrider replied to Italian Job 2005's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I like what is new for 2016! I hope with the new parking entrance we also get the parking lot resurfaced. They need to do more than patching the parking lot in my opinion. -
Now that we have an expanded Starbucks maybe we are getting an expanded Chic-fi-a in 2016 in the area where the platform is. They could even tear down the Tropical Smoothie stand close by and use that area too since I NEVER see it open. At the very least I hope Chic-fi-a makes a separate pick up window instead of having to squeeze in where people are trying to order. A new ride or two would be awesome too!

I think they should add a haunt somewhere in Soak City. It could be based on possessed surfers and/or beach dwellers. Attacking seagulls would be a nice touch to this haunt attraction. If the attraction couldn't be in Soak City maybe the walkway to Soak City would work. They could end it near the train depot in Soak City so people can ride the train back. It would be empty already from the other haunt attraction that uses the White Water Canyon exit.

I really enjoy going to The Beach as the crowds are so much smaller than Kings Islands Soak City. I live close by so I have a season pass for both places. I especially enjoy going to The Beach on the weekends when Kings Island is more crowded and especially when I want to go to a waterpark and not have to wait so long to get onto attractions. I truly hope The Beach is a success this time around and they would be smart to offer a discount to any Kings Island season pass holder for their daily ticket and/or season pass. That way there attendance might get a bigger boost and be more successful this time around.

I agree that Disney needs to announce something soon as to what they are doing with Disney Hollywood Studios. Many things have or are closing and no confirmed announcement on what is coming is becoming very frustrating. I am so glad that I went there last summer as I would have a hard time justifying visiting this park this summer with so many attractions now closed. They need to start building something in the areas already closed like the Studio Backlot Tour, just adding another track to Toy Story is not enough in my book. I wonder when attendance at DHS will be affected as Frozen is a draw for some but then next year there will be the ride opening at Epcot. They Disney execs probably have a plan but they need to hopefully share it soon with the general public! Update: Here is an interesting article that confirms attendance is being affected by all the attraction closings happening at Disney's Hollywood Studios. http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2015/06/30/disney-worlds-worst-park-is-shrinking.aspx

Changes to 2015 dining plans (Update: not happening)
Skyrider replied to malem's topic in Kings Island
I love the all season dining plan both last year and even more so this year with the increase in choices. I use it quite often since I live so close to the park and it really saves me a lot money on my food budget. I have not tried The Red Grill in Rivertown yet and wondered what they serve there for the all season dining plan and if it is any good. -
Thanks for sharing the highlights of your trip to Disney and it looks like you had a great time. I wish I could go back to Disney World tomorrow. It is a magical place and such a fun place to spend time with the family.
