Kings Island Announces 2018 Changes
JubJester replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I think you're going to start seeing a change in terms of quality. They got rid of the potato works and are putting in a better establishment. The smokehouse food quality was way better than any other place in the park. -
Stop. Just stop.

I don't think Carowinds is competing with a park 474.7 miles away. I kind of get what you're saying but if they were competing with each other, KD wouldn't be getting a RMC the same year as Steel Vengeance. Doesn't make sense why a same company would compete with it's own parks. Why would they make a giga with less stats and not as great as one already operating?
-
I would say yes. For one, marketing purposes. World's tallest Giga, is something that will grab lots of attention. Then also potentially making it a better ride. Well I'd hope, this thread has really been one heck of a roller coaster ride at times.
-
I like the big vacant circle. It's going to be one of my favorite parts of the park!
-
If they haven't announced anything yet, they won't announce anything. Mystic Timbers didn't "deplete" their funds. Is typical for Kings Island to go for a fairly easy year after a big coaster is put in.

When it comes to the Coney Mall restaurant, I think it will look a lot like the Smokehouse in Soak City, mixed with the funnel cake building in Rivertown. Like @Rivertown Rider said, I think the Mac and Cheese will be a part of the menu along with the items that were sold in the Smokehouse last year. I say it will offer both inside and outside seating, but mostly inside. Finally, I hope and think that there will be Coca-Cola Freestyles inside.

I would be thrilled if they got an RMC. It's very likely it will be from the ground up. Something Goliath would be amazing.
-
Air hockey is one of the few I play. Don't have to carry anything. There's no prize so I don't have to worry. I did however almost accidently hit the puck into the sewer grate by The Beast. Those things will fly off easily without any effort.
-
Would having two gliders work? I'm down for it, but does it make sense? @Maverick44, work on your form!
-
Why not both?
-
Take a look at its lift hill. Thats all I'm going to say.
-
If there would ever be a RMC Giga, it would be most likely a Goliath (Six Flags Great America) type design.
-
It came down to Diamondback and The Racer for me. Diamondback's supports don't look as sharp as they did, and the track could use a refresh. I don't think it needs it as much as The Racer, though. The Racer has had a lot of paint chipped off over the years on the supports. I think a repaint of just white, or a repaint of the original colors with white, blue, and red would be fantastic looking. Either way I would like to see it repainted.

Once again, this thread has the word Speculation. Yes people have had credible sources been posted about various points.
-
I think they knew or at least saw the possibility of it leaving. Just based on how early they plan things. They can always put the queue of Field of Screams on the other side (where the exit is) facing The Racer. Plenty of room for a queue, and they can still run the exit there or on the side.
-
It could just simply be parked there after putting Vortex's trains back.
-
^ Thank you! I will probably use that now.
-
No I haven't actually. Do I upload through the "Click to choose files" option?
-
^ I use mobile KIC over Tapatalk as well. I actually use mobile a bit more over desktop/laptop. Only time I use Tapatalk is for uploading photos.

Here's another look at those new Diamondback seats. It's entering it's 10th season! From Kings Island's Instagram: Edit: New seats, not just paint as I originally said.

That's, once again, ridiculous. If the ride is a great experience (which all signs are pointing to it), capacity won't matter. If the line is too long, don't wait in it. Secondly, from what I've read in the past it wasn't the company it was the operators fault. (Edit: See above)

Remember that Knott's is open year around. They're getting a new coaster this year. Hence, they are are getting some love. They just simply didn't want to put a giga in. There is no "should" have a Giga, that's ridicoulous. There is no downfall in getting a Giga later than some parks. It's actually a plus, because they get better in many different ways. I just don't know why you are even going on about this.
-
Ok. My main point of Cedar Point gets a lot more income is still valid. No, it's a Giga Speculation Thread.
-
@Tera Ryzing Mind sharing a link with this information? Keep in mind Cedar Point opens in May when Kings Island opens in April. Then also remember the resorts Cedar Point has. That's a lot of money Kings Island doesn't have a chance to bring in. Kings Island has had more rides built that KD lately. Not sure why Kings Dominion has anything to do with this.
