If a Giga stayed low (like Intimidator 305) it could be a terrain coaster. It would be difficult to design with all that speed plus the terrain but not impossible. Between both its lifts The Beast has around 200ft of lift hill and is still considered a terrain coaster.

That's a good looking build to me but I would recommend saving money on the gpu before the cpu. Not only are they easier and cheaper to replace but I run PC pretty well with a 760 GTX which is less powerful than the RX 480. Even the card from your budget build is more powerful than mine and would be fine to start out with. Lowering graphics settings can also help ease the load on the graphics card but the only way to ease the load considerably on the cpu is to have less rides and people in your park. Another note do not ever buy a single RAM stick, always buy them in identical pairs and even have all four sticks exactly the same if possible. It's better to have 2 4GB sticks than 1 8GB stick. If there is one part you can cheap out on it's the RAM. Those fancy sticks do little to improve performance, the total amount available is what matters. Make sure what you do buy has good reviews/quality though. -

Haven't played RCT World myself but I gather its a buggy mess that is poorly designed and simply isn't much fun when it is working. By contrast Planet Coaster runs pretty well and has superior features in almost every aspect. Terrain creation in particular is amazing with lighting and prop placement as other highlights. Downsides are pathing (though still much better than RCTW) and the current selection of flat rides along with a few missing features, syncing stations and some coasters not having launch options when they should come to mind. About the only thing I've heard RCTW has that Planet Coaster should is the ability to adjust track by dragging the pointer around. When you look at a desktop for Planet Coaster look into a very good processor. They are one of the harder parts to upgrade and very important for simulation games. Stay away from expensive brands like Alienware. Get an I7 if possible, if not get an I5. PC makes good use of multiple cores so getting a cpu with more cores/threads and a lower clock may be better than higher clocks with less cores/threads. And keep in mind that many laptop processors have fewer cores/threads when compared to their very similarly named desktop counterparts. A laptop I7 is usually not as good as a desktop one. -

I thought they were lined with wax? Which explains why paper cups eventually fail. I've also seen the recycled logo/explanation on many cups before including the current plastic souvenir bottles. Plastic or paper I think you are likely using a cup containing recycled materials. I would also say that my souvenir bottle was used more than 50 times at KI alone. It may not be the norm but its worth keeping in mind when determining which is the better balance. Do you have a source for your 50 cup claim? I'm no expert but that seems a bit more extreme than I would have thought. It's also worth keeping in mind that most recycled materials require more energy to make than harvesting fresh ones albeit fresh has the obvious con of needing the new resources. Metal tends to be one of the few exceptions and makes a lot of sense to recycle. Of course there are obvious reasons for not using metal cups. I think we (or at least I") would need more info on this idea before forming an opinion. How big are the paper cups? How long do we have to wait for refills? Will it work at every park? Edit: Looking at the cups more closely I think they are just completely recycle able rather than actually recycled. -

You're going to leave them with two identical boomerangs? It would be worth trading Invertigo for Stinger just to get a cooler logo.

I rode it with and without the loop but the only constant for the ride was how unbearably rough it was. Every now and then I would get a good ride that wasn't painful and it was good in those rare cases. The loop was fun but not really that different from something like Vortex and the first drop was good. The first helix was nothing but pain though. I remember liking the second half more.

Cedar Point 2016 Talk
matt112986 replied to Bansheeback's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Have to agree here, its essentially a lie if Cedar Point announces their new RMC opening in 2017. If they said that then it looks like 2018 is much more likely. I disagree here. They said "there's no RMC projects opening in 2017". They may be completing construction of a ride in 2017 commission it and accept payment for it but RMC does not decide when a ride is "opened" the owner does. If Cedar Fair does not provide RMC with an "opening" date, RMC therefore has nothing on their calendar that says they have a project opening in 2017. There is no lie because RMC has absolutely no control when a "project opens". I have to stand by my original statement. I would wager RMC has a good bit of knowledge on when their projects are likely to open and that delays are much more likely than early openings. If the source is reputable then 2018 is still much more likely. There perhaps may be an early opening of sorts in 2017 with the official opening for 2018 or an event to try the ride with an early 2018 pass purchase but I wouldn't think its very likely. -

I always tend to think that The Bat would go before Vortex, the park seems to have more to gain that way. There is tons of space back there and the queue could be shortened a lot. It could also potentially reopen the old SOB station to use. I don't see anything really going anytime soon though. Cedar Fair seems to tear stuff down when its a problem not due to age. Cedar Point has both kinds of Arrows that are older than than their KI counterparts. KI also seems to have some potential spots for new coasters without tearing anything out, such as the old Crypt building.

I've never found it to be bad and certainly not even close to Son of Beast. Me and my bro got our last ride too. Ride because he didn't want to go on again. Just enjoyed the 5 min Maverick line again. -
Both areas have a fence making "by the fence" a bit confusing. I would guess that the teaser fence/old funnel cake area will be the entrance and the exit will connect with the new WWC path. The entrance would have stairs going over the train and the crossing/exit would be the handicapped entrance in this scenario.

I doubt the ride time would allow much adult content. They did James Bond before with no problems. -
If older coasters don't measure up then they aren't as good. I love Magnum XL 200 but Diamondback is superior in almost every respect save ejector time and beside the ejector time they are designed to achieve largely the same things. The Beast has maintained its status despite its age, and I wouldn't put The Voyage above it. All the history is cool but it doesn't change the ride experience, luckily most of these old legends have qualities that keep them great long after their tech has become obsolete.

I wonder how far out they would pay them a visit before a new coaster installation. It's unlikely but we could get back to back coasters. Hey, it's more likely than two in one year! -
I find its the opposite, I think it's the way you get pushed into the seats when in a middle row that bothers my back. I don't have a problem with most coasters roughness (including Mean Streak, find it boring) but Racer isn't rough at all for a woodie.

It's not like they have been advertising that they have the best Kiddie area for the past 15 years or anything... -
Kings Island has always had a heavy family focus, if anything Cedar Fair has changed that focus toward more thrill seekers. Go to the point in May, a lot less bugs then. And The number of major additions KI has gotten is on par with the Paramount days and is not bad at all, better than most other parks even. A new coaster every 3 to 4 years is pretty good. The new coaster should be good for thrill seekers as well. I found Lightning Racers very enjoyable.
