  1. Are there any props out in the open during the day? Or are they just in the mazes?
  2. I'm so scared to go to Halloween Haunt, I wouldn't go there even if I did buy a No Boo necklace, to be honest.
  3. No matter what ride you go on first, the two rides at Kings Island that you absolutley, positivly, cannot miss are The Beast and Banshee. There are no other coasters like them that I have ridden. Then again, I'm not terribly well-traveled in the category of amusement parks. Still fantastic rides and not to be missed. The Racer is a classic and original to the park, and it's also a "don't-miss" for me. The Bat is a dying breed of coaster (Arrow suspended) and as such is worth a ride. Adventure Express and Backlot Stunt Coaster are relativly tame but still worth a ride. The Eiffel Tower is a nice break from the roller coasters and provides a cool bird's-eye view of the park. I hope you can make it to Kings Island someday. It's a wonderful amusement park.
  4. I saw the eyes Sunday. Really creepy and great touch.
  5. Hello everyone! I've never done a trip report before, so here I go. I arrived at Kings Island today at about 3:40 or so. As soon as I walked in, I headed for Action Zone, and devised my usual plan of action for attacking the park: move from left to right. I first went on Banshee, and I literally hopped right on with no wait. The ride was a tad bit rough, in a good way of course, as always. Because the ride still had no wait, I immediatly hopped right back in line and got right back on. After this ride, I went over to The Bat, which also had no line. Nothing new here, but still fun as always. Adventure Express was next. I had forgot about how much Adventure Express whips you around! Still a lot of fun, though, and again, no wait. Next up was The Racer, which again had no line for where I was sitting on Blue. As we climbed up the lift hill, I noticed the old cars from Days of Thunder had been tossed in a pile in a field behind the Plush Barn. The ride was very rough, it had lots of airtime, and was lots of fun. I'm glad that Kings Island still has fantastic wooden roller coasters in their original form unlike Six Flags. I was going to go on WindSeeker, but it looked closed, and Backlot Stunt Coaster had a long line, so I headed over to The Beast. This was my very first time on The Beast this year, and it came with a few surprises! First, the lift hill was faster than usual. Again, I had not been on The Beast since last year so perhaps I had just forgotten, or maybe it had been this way all year. Also, for those of you who don't know, I hate the feeling you get when you go down the hill, but this time it was very faint. To give you an idea, the feeling is strong (for me at least) that I've never been able to smile for the camera, but this time I was able to. I had forgotten what a great ride it was! For those of you wondering about the line-it was the longest all day, but it was short compared to other days-I would say about 10 minutes long. After The Beast, I left the park at about 5:50. Unfortunatly, the Eiffel Tower was closed, so I couldn't say hello to Johnny, and try as I might, I was not able to pick up on anything stupid other people said to post about in the "Dumb Things That Guest's Say" thread. Also, because I was tight on time, I wasn't able to get on Boo Blasters to examine the Phantom Theater busts behind the boards. It was a great day, very short lines, and I was able to get on some of my favorite rides.
  6. What a horrible tragedy. Thoughts and prayers go out to the victims/the families of the victims. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Never been to Morgan's, although I guess I'll have to stop by soon!
  8. The trash can at Heritage is one of the ones seen here, from the Kings Island 20th anniversary TV special from 1992. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. If we are on the topic of Kings Island remnants elsewhere, then Heritage Presbyterian Church in Mason has an old German-looking trash can from International Street. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. I also heard that a blast of cold air would come out as well. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Okay. Thanks for clearing that up! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Yeah. I like it. It has stuff for all ages. They have a couple of roller coasters. Nothing like the other coasters around the park, but still fun.
  13. I would want the whole ride brought back in it's original building. It would need a lot of upkeep, yes, but so many people want it back. And Cedar Fair has done really great jobs in keeping up the park in general. Maybe one or two added new effects (perhaps A Maestro fog screen?) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. That's an awesome idea! Do you mean a list of deaths and injuries, or just deaths?Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Alrighty, I guess I should probably put in my own two cents. First off, I'm really dissapointed in Europa Park being no. 1. From what I've seen, (and correct me if I'm wrong) Europa's rides are pretty much a bunch of Disney knockoffs. I guess it just goes to show that no one really cares about innovation and originality anymore. Personally, my favorite park is Disneyland. I'm also dissapointed on the coasters-Millenium Force would probably be a really fun ride if I was brave enough to ride it, but I love Banshee to death. For me, Banshee beats out everything. Also, Boulder Dash looks fun, but I garuntee that it's no where near as good as the Twister at Knoebels. Speaking of Knoebels, they definitly have the best food. Anyone who has had the pizza there can agree with me. I'm glad that Kings Island got some recognition. Planet Snoopy really has stuff for everyone. Does anyone know why they don't have a best dark ride category? Again, just my $0.02 .
  16. Okay, here's a creepy story. This happened recently, last 5 years or so. This was told to me by a former Kings Island employee, who was friends with the person involved. A security guard was walking around the Eiffel Tower's base. It was almost midnight, way past the park's closing. As he passed, he heard a creaking sound. He turned around and saw the gate that blocks off the stairs swinging open. The guard assumed that it must have been the wind, even though it wasn't windy out, and he closed and locked the gate, and started to walk away. He then heard the creaking again, this time accompanied by what sounded like a teenage boy laughing. The guard turned around, not only seeing the gate opening, but also saw a shadow in the shape of a teenage boy run up the stairs and vanish. The guard double and triple checked the area, which only confirmed he was the only one in the area of the Tower. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Which other old rides are at Jungle Jim's? I know of the Lion Country Safari monorail, but what else? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Delirium-The things only happen at night, after closing. He's pretty friendly though, just playing pranks on the employees. The newspapers said that he "loved attention", and the ghost stories seem to go along with that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Fearsome-I always think of him when I'm at the Tower. I also did a little service at his grave. Such a tragic incident. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Spectrum: The fountain incident-the newspaper article that referenced the incident did not say how long after he jumped into the fountain he died. Thanks for clearing that up, though. SOB-thank you for bringing attention to that one as well! I actually never heard about that incident. Also, the article refers to Don Helbig as "Kings Island spokeswoman". Campground Murder-I have heard of this one as well, I do not count the campground as Kings Island itself. Toddler death-I haven't heard of this one, but I do know in 2010 a child was run over and killed by a bus at Disney World's Fort Wilderness Campground. You may be confusing this with Kings Island. -Ghost Guy Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Just throwing this out there-after visiting John's grave, as me and my aunt were driving through the cemetery trying to find the gates, she popped in a CD without looking. The first song that played was Night on Bald Mountain, which is the song in Disney's Fantasmic where the ghosts and demons dance for Chernabog. One of the opening shots in the Fantasia sequence is ghosts rising out of a graveyard, and that was the section playing as we were driving through the cemetery. I still don't know what that means. 22. Fingers are crossed! Like the display a few years ago set up on the International Street bandstand. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
