Do you consider 2 small chicken wings a “meal”?
chuck norris replied to King Ding Dong's topic in Kings Island
I’ve gone to island smokehouse many times, and I usually get the wings. It’s always been 4 wings. If they changed it to 2, that would surprise me… and I agree that I would stop ordering it. If I’m heading to the park just to eat, I like island smokehouse as it’s usually east to park and walk to in a short amount of time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
What food would you like to see added to the park?
chuck norris replied to Thabto's topic in Kings Island
Just came from a week of six flags parks. Kings Island does tons of stuff better than six flags… not notably the quality of options on the dining plan. That said, some things I enjoyed about six flags dining were: Ability to use a meal credit on a snack instead (ice cream, funnel cake, slushee, candy from the candy shops)… in addition to including one snack a day with their two meal deluxe dining plan. (I’m not even asking you add a snack… just allow me to use my meal credit on a snack instead would be really nice sometimes) Online ordering and dedicated lines. I know KI has experimented with this… but the six flags system actually worked really well. You order in the app and select your time, and then you can “pay” in the app with a credit card or just apply your lunch or dinner credit to your meal. Then the locations have a dedicated online order pick up line. Not only was it a lot faster to get my food, but all the payment is handled by the app, so the process is just faster for everyone. The six flags locations could turn this off at any time if they got too busy… but having pre set reservation times I think ensured that not too many people were trying to order for the same time. Anyone doing chef plate today? They said it would return after carnival… so that would mean today… but I hadn’t seen anything. Although maybe they canceled it due to the heat [emoji2375] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Good news… grand carnival is done this weekend. So next Wednesday the chef’s plate should return.. so only 1 more week of discussing the merits of plates vs trays until we can get back to drilling over excellent meal plan options. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

True… although do you know of places that accept credit cards… but not visa? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That’s exactly the point of the cash to card machines. Teen puts cash into machine Pre loaded debit card pops out Teen uses card Value left on card and be used ANYWHERE outside of the park that takes credit cards. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The ride ops shouldn’t have to even think about things like this. This should be part of the maintenance team. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My kids and I have done this the past few weeks. They pick a song (from the Former playlist) and we sing away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Maybe… if so, that’s too bad… as they play copywritten songs all over the park, so it’s hard to imagine the right to a few more were a deal breaker. If they had to change the songs, that would actually be a fun upgrade… but removing them altogether was sad for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The shed theming has been back working for a few weeks now… however the shed “fun” music never returned. The “radio” still turns on… but it just plays “creepy sounds”. Does anyone here know why they stopped playing the music? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There are two right after you enter the turnstiles, at the front. There is one by each of the spots where paper maps used to be. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The green houses back by The Bat. Maybe The dormitory? Action theater (as I wasn’t a park goer when it was running) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don’t think the legal tender argument is valid. Kings Island as an establishment will still accept cash… just only at their cash to card machines. In this way, it’s no different than Dave and busters game card or Chuck E Cheese tokens… as they exchange cash into a system that’s accepted within the place. And even better, it’s not like they are only giving you park credits in return… it’s a legit cash card. So if you do end up with 25 cents on it, just use that card at the next place you shop and get the full amount off of it. It’s not like Kings Island is stealing your money… it’s on the card, which you can use anywhere that accepts card. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I obviously don’t understand what a blog meet up is.

The cash to card machines have been placed… two at the entrance (where the paper maps used to be). Photo of one machine that was off. The other appeared to be up and running. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

When was security (metal detectors) introduced to KI/Chain?
chuck norris replied to MisterSG1's topic in Kings Island
The metal detectors are much more recent than 2003. Like maybe only 2-3 years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Interesting experience today on wind seeker. After multiple attempts to check the seats of larger riders, they announced that there was an issue and that a few riders would need to exit the ride. They then proceeded to ask ALL the larger riders to exit (there were 5 different seats that were asked to exit) I’ve never seen this before for one person, let alone 5. My question… does wind seeker not have the ability to alert the ride ops to exactly what seat isn’t “closing”? And thus they have to try to guess which seats… and if they can’t guess it right after a few tries they just have to remove all the larger people and then they know they “got it” when they ride says it’s all ready? It really didn’t seem like the coasters, where they can call out a specific seat number and then they check it and push on it until the main operator gives them the thumbs up… it’s like they had to get everyone right… then check… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Orion is down. They are saying weather/lightning… although it’s not raining here and the weather app says no lightning detected within 10 miles… and other coasters are running Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For anyone there today… how are the crowds? I assume that even with coaster stock going on, crowds are non existent due to the rain. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
