Vortexallday
I wanna here people's opinions on where it was better. Did it fit better in Geauga or KI? Does it look better now? All those sort of questions because I never got to ride it at GL.
BoddaH1994
It was certainly out of place at Geauga Lake. I think it fits in well at KI and it's being well received by the public.
Braves0511
As cool as it looks now, I will admit that I liked the GL/X-Flight color scheme a little better...But no matter what colors, it's still a great ride.
The Interpreter
Hmmm. I really thought it would be themed more, not unlike Borg: The Assimilator. That being said, Firehawk fits its surroundings far better than X-Flight ever did. But, I, too, preferred the neon green to the colours it has now... Lin
I never liked X Flights colors but colors aside, it's much better suited at KI. GL is a minor amusement park compared to KI and CP. Sure, increasing attendance is linked to attractions, but KI already brings in alot of money and they have so much land left undeveloped, it just makes sense to bring in another coaster. Firehawk was the perfect answer; bring the only one of it's kind in Ohio to a park that gets more visitors.
padfoot714
The X-Flight colors were ugly IMO. I love the new Firehawk colors but as a Buckeye fan I might be a little biased towards anything that looks similar to scarlet and gray. As for which park it fits in, KI is definitely the better fit. When I was at Geauga Lake I saw a lot of families with small children and not very many teens or young adults. With that kind of attendance GL should be focusing on family rides instead of big thrills. Kings Island on the other hand does not have enough thrill rides to satisfy the large number of teens that are always there. Hopefully Firehawk will be one of many new thrills to come to KI. The only problem with Firehawk is that it wasn't built for KI so there wasn't really a good spot for it. The X-base theme is really great though. The Interpreter
Actually, according to most accounts, it WAS built for Kings Island, and it is in the place that was originally designated for it, which is one reason it could be installed as quickly as it was. Irony, Sheer irony. The thing only ended up at Six Flags Worlds of Adventure after Paramount Parks declined to buy the second one. . .and now two of the three Vekoma Flyers operating in the USA belong to Cedar Fair--the company Six Flags was competing against when it installed X-Flight. FOFirehawkFAN
Well my favorite color is lime green, I drive a lime green saturn and have a lime green cell phone, so I loved the color scheme of X-Flight, however it did seem so out of place at GL but then again so did just about everything at that park after Six Flags took over. As far as themeing for Firehawk I love the know X-Base thing and I say give CF one or 2 years and they will expand and make that a pretty cool area back there. But was Firehawk the original name or did they not get that far because of the problems with Stealth?
tubaman
I loved it! To me, it just seems to mesh well with the area at KI. I also like the color scheme now compared to what pictures of it I have seen from GL.

Really? thats so interesting, so that coaster designed was between Paramount and Vekoma but Paramount decided they only wanted to buy one of them so Six Flags bought the other 2, and then Kings Island ended up with it anyway, thats kinda crazy. PKIVortex
Yeah Paramount decided after the issues with Stealth that they didn't want to deal with anymore Vekoma Flyers. So X-Flight was supposed to go to KI.
DiSab
Interesting. I never heard that before. That really is ironic.
thomas
I love it. Its one of my favorites now. I got to ride it on 7-7. I just wish the chain was quiter since it is right in your ear but i know that is something that you have to live with.
DropZone99
Of the pictures iv'e seen of X-Flight at GL i think it looks better here at KI. X-Flight was out of place there. =]

There are more than 3 Vekoma flyers in the U.S. Six Flags has the Batwing in D.C. and I believe others in other parks but they may not be Vekoma. This is actually what irked me that this was placed in K.I. Every Vekoma Flyer aside from its paint job is exactly the same. I feel like the park is above getting carbon copied seconds. I understand that they were in a bit of a financial jam, wanted to get more out of their present assets, and needed a quick fix with SOB being out of commission, but I wish K.I. would have gotten something a little more unique. Tatsu looks sweet out in L.A. If they wanted a good flyer, should have thought a little bit more in the long term and gotten a B&M model. Just my opinion

Just my opinion Not doggin on you, but i doubt the GP really cares. I mean i have never ridden a flying coaster untill Firehawk, and i LOVED it. Yea Borg is the same, but for most people that cant/havent been to Carowinds (i dont know where the 3rd vekoma flyer is) this is there chance to fly. I think it is a great addition to the park, and i doubt that we would have gotten a B&M flyer in anyway, especially with all the changes that the park had been going through
PKIVortex
Borg is similar to Firehawk but not that same. Borg has corkscrews at the end and no helix. The other Vekoma Flyer is at Six Flags America as Batwing.

The Interpreter
And there are not more than three Vekoma Flying Dutchmen in the USA. Having ridden all three, I must say that even the two that are identical do NOT ride the same. Heck, Firehawk doesn't even run exactly the same as it did as X-Flight at Six Flags Worlds of Adventure or as it did when that same park later was Geauga Lake. Banshee
I have never been to Gueaga Lake. Hopefully will make it there this summer since we have a Maxx pass. However, I see Friehawk looking very strange at KI. Reminds me of Top gun in that it seems out in the middlle of nowhere. It doesn't "look" bad, I'm just not used to to a park having so much land that they can plop a coaster on the "outskirts" of the park. beastbreakdown
^^ I am going to say within the next 5 years that area will not be considered outskirts of the park. I just have a feeling like that area has the potential to boom. But on the topic, I think Firehawk looks great were it is. At Geauga Lake it just looked goofy, just another parking lot coaster. Now it is surrounded by fairly large trees on one side, and is nestled between two other great coasters.

Although I got to see part of Stealth's construction, I did not ride it in California. From both a ride experience and due to the theming, Borg: The Assimilator is by far my favorite of the three, and I prefer them to the B and M Supermen flying coasters. I must say, to be fair, that Tatsu is better than any of the rest...but then, it should be.

Legend Rider
I just have to say that anyone who visits Geauga Lake will be very upset, the park is going downhill, with surveyors examining the Villain area, rumors of Villain, Dominator and Thunderhawk being removed soon... its not looking good for Geauga Lake, Lets pray for the Big Dipper... its old school, and I love it. coaster_junky
i never got to ride it at gl but as far as how it looks i like it better at ki because one for the colors of it and two it has a place to set in at ki insted of setting in the parking lot like at gl
Beast1979
I agree. X-Flight's Paint job was a lot better, but Firehawk is in sutch a better setting. I think Firehawk belongs where it is, and X-Flight didn't. (I enjoy talking about them as 2 different coasters. )
