Cody
"George Fisher, 17, of Springfield Twp., told city of Mason police said he was working Sunday and stopped the Firehawk roller coaster because a customer's leg was sticking out of the ride. Fisher said his supervisor claimed that Fisher failed to secure the rider's legs. Fisher said he told the supervisor he was quitting and he walked away." This part really bugs me. I cant put words on it. Does anyone eles agree? I wish i could put it into words; If he check the bars and etc etc, wouldnt he have noicted the persons leg sticking out right there? instead of noicteing while the train being (im guessing) on the hill? Maybe someone can put it better then I can. Something just seems fish'y
Browntggrr
^ There has to be more to the story. If this kid did not do his proper checks, and his supervisor was present, he should have been fired. But why would he then E-Stop the ride? He was obviously paying attention then. And if he quit, why would the police pepper spray him (being pepper sprayed is not exactly something that you can lie about as the effects are easily seen)? Now did the police detain him so the effects of the pepper spray would wear off? There are many holes as well as questions surrounding the story. Dane
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that when he quit his job, he probably made a scene, which led to security being called. When security arrived he probably fusseled with them and odds have it he lost the battle with pepper spray. When he was "detained" it was probably to clean out his eyes, take a police and park statement, and could have been taken to jail for resisting arrest. Please excuse me for reading between the lines. P.S. By favorite line is, "The police came and they slammed me on the ground and pepper sprayed me twice," Fisher said. "All because I wanted to call my mother."" MarketingExpress
^ It used to be if someone had a violation like this, the employee would be subject to a written warning. I can't tell you how many employees have left knees on the wrong side of the lap bar at SOB. Hundreds probably. No one gets fired right away without doing something really stupid. Like everyone else has said, there is obviously some information missing here that Fisher doesn't want to come forward with. Perhaps this was a 2nd or 3rd incident that this happened to him. Maybe he denied his responsiblilty in the incident which caused him to become irate and walk off the ride. As far as the confrontation with the police, there is no way that is how it went down. I am sure that Fisher was shooting his mouth off like Dane said and park police were called to escort him out. There was probably struggle at some point and he had to get sprayed. He probably wasn't allowed to call his mother because of the altercation and would have gotten the chance when he was booked at a local department. It's a situation like this that I wish that KI's park police had tazers because Fisher sounds like he deserved to be tazed in this case. SOB_TOM
Nah, taser effects are short term. Pepper spray lasts longer. Seriously, there are more loopholes in this story than in a government contract. I bet the whole fight was because he quit, he immediately turned into a regular guest, therefor could not be on the platform to make his "call." The sup probabily told him to call from the employee entrance and to get off the ride. He refused, so the sup called security. Security gets there, the kids making a scene, and they ask him to leave the ride. He refuses, and one of the security guards goes to grab his arm to escort him off the ride. The kid jerks his arm from the security guard and probabily pushes him or throws a punch. At that point, security took him out because he was violent, sprayed him to subdue him, and then escourted him into security office to fix his eyes and get info from him. Anyone else agree? P.S. No, I was not there, but I have seen a couple incidents like this one.
Dvo
that's a good scenario i guess, but it could seriously be anything. This story kind of worries me because my brother and my friend are officers for KI Police.
MarketingExpress
I had an explanation on what really happened. I took it off the board since this investigation is still open. Lets just say that Fisher got what was coming to him because of his actions.

MarketingExpress
^If you knew the details about the incident that I do, then you would agree that Fisher needed to be subdued in anyway possible.
Dvo
It seems like there's a lot of bad stuff going on this year with amusement park employees. This incident, the porn thing at Cedar Point, the assault at Six Flags Over Georgia, and the girl dying from the scrambler ride (can't remember where that was). I've never really noticed so many problems with park staff before.

Dvo
A 17-yr old girl living in the dormitories was apparently forced by two 30-something year old employees also living in the dorms to go into their room, and they were watching porn at the time. I guess the older guy threatened the girl or something. I'm not really sure about the details, but the girl called her mother because she felt threatened and the two people got some jail time for showing porn to a minor. WHODEY2007
The real story of this is..... Fisher did do the E-stop. The ride sup tried to speak with Fisher but Fisher said he quit and left the ride. The ride sup followed Fisher towards the Operations Building and Fisher was cursing and threatening the Sup the whole way and so the sup radioed security. Park Police responded and found Fisher and the sup and heard Fisher threatening "I am going to punch you!" Park Police told Fisher to come with them to the security office and Fisher went with them. Once inside the security office, Fisher was placed in an interview room and Park Police attempted to get Fisher's information which he did not want to give. Fisher tried to leave the interview room but since he was involved in a crime (menacing, meaning a threat of physical violence to someone) he was not allowed to go. Park Police told Fisher to sit down but he would not and kept trying to leave. Fisher was told he was under arrest and to put his hands behind his back but would not. Park Police tried to physically place his arms behind his back but Fisher would not comply. Fisher was taken to the ground where Fisher kept his arms close to his body so that Park Police could not put his arms behind his back. Park Police took out their pepper spray (known as OC to some) and threatened Fisher numerous times that they would use it if he would not place his arms behind his back. Fisher did not comply and was pepper sprayed in the face and became quickly compliant. Park Police called first aid who assisted Fisher in cleaning himself up. DropZone99
That is exactly why i hate cops. They take advantage of theyre powers. The cops shouldn't just let him leave, but they shouldn't of tackeled and pepper sprayed him. They should of kindly stopped him.
