Disney increases admission

Recommended Posts

What is the point of going to WDW anymore? Personally, if I was down in Orlando, I would not either buy a pass to WDW or buy tickets to WDW. 71 bucks for a theme park is ridiculous.

The point of going to WDW is to not go for a one day visit. The point is to visit multiple days. I've purchased a 10 day park hopper ticket for my visit at the end of the month for $250. Its money well spent for me and WELL worth it. Great parks, great attractions, friendly employees......and did I mention cheaper food prices than at KI? The value at Disney, IMHO, is worth the money. I agree that for one day, that price is steep though!

Yes, for one day general admission, $71 is ridiculous. But there is just so much to do at Walt Disney World, that it takes at least four solid days to experience the parks. The attention to detail in the parks and attractions is simply amazing! When you visit Disney parks, it is quite honestly like visiting another world. A truly awesome experience, and as the article stated, people are willing to pay such high prices for that type of experience.

I definitely urge anyone who has never been to a Disney park, to try and make it to one at some point. You will likely not be disappointed.

Almost no one buys the single day tickets. The ticket prices have been designed for long trips with only a $14 price difference between the 4 and 10 day tickets (old prices). Before the price increase the tickets were $67 for a single park for one day which was the same price at Universal (who is expected to match the increase within the next few days). Sea World is a little cheaper at $65 and Busch Gardens is only $62.

Not going to try to explain it but I really enjoy spending time at Disney and I feel the ticket price is still worth it if you are spending several days.

I MUST add I couldn't agree more with those who say Disney is a great value. Just remember to buy the never-expire option when you get those park hopper tickets. I still have one day left on a paper ticket I bought in California a few years ago...and once that is used, I will be buy another 10 day park hopper ticket with the no expire option.

If I leave the earth with days still to be used, that'll be okay. I love the Disney parks, particularly California Adventure and Disneyland. And I don't care who knows it! :)

I couldn't agree with you more on this fact. I've been quite over the "Walt Disney Experience" since the 80's. There are far superior parks (in my opinion) at a mere fraction of the price of attendance.

Universal will most likely now raise their single day tickets to match Disney....that's usually how it works.

Interpreter-- you've mentioned several times you're a big fan of DCA. I was just wondering what is about it that you like so much? I was there right before it opened to the public for a pre-opening event and enjoyed it a lot (of course, I even had fun at the old "MGM Grand Adventures" in Vegas :) ), but that park has gotten so much criticism from the Disney-philes, it would be nice to hear someone give it some love for a change...

I LOVE the atmosphere at California Adventure....and I am a HUGE fan of Tower of Terror, and think the one in California is superior to Florida's. I love Traver rocket ship rides, and the re-creation at California Adventure is superb. I have always been a Soarin fan, and I can't get enough of the swings around the orange, either. California Screamin', pre- the recent alterations, had some of the most severe airtime of any modern coaster (and, sigh, over the shoulder restraints; not exactly a wonderful combination).

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention how much I love Deno's Wonderwheel in Brooklyn...and you can find a modern re-creation of that at California Adventure, too.

I've NEVER had a bad meal there, NEVER encountered the FIRST rude employee, and I just love the park. If I could go to only ONE park in the Los Angeles area, I'd have a really, really hard time picking between the two Disney parks...and that other place near town would knott even be in the running.

Two of the guys that I lift with would echo that sentiment. Neither are that fond of Disney as a whole but absolutely love California Adventure. The thing that they also pointed out was that everything there to eat and drink was reasonably priced.
