PhantomTheater
If its burned, can we have a KIC bonfire and roast marshmallows?
Ki Man
"Add tunnels and helixes" Ummm....ADD helixes?! There are already two MASSIVE helices. Isn't that enough?!?!?!? -KI "WORST poll ever!" Man
Browntggrr
I have always been against tearing any ride out. This could be the one exception.... http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...hl=Son+of+Beast http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...hl=Son+of+Beast http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...hl=Son+of+Beast
tigellinus
Tear it down and put Dominator from GL in its place!!
CoastersNSich
You spelled "TAER IT DOWN" wrong.
Cormaster
As long as its working fine, I say keep it as it is. They removed the loop, and added new cars, so hopefully there won't be too many more problems.
DeLorean Rider
I always believed there was hope for a prefabricated track conversion. But thats a lot of work and $.

italianchef
As far as I'm concerned, SOB is an SOB. Tear it down! Out with woodie and in with a steal!
Delirium13
Tear it down and put Dominator from GL in its place!! Why not a new ride? GL just lost 2 roller coasters this year, haven't they lost enough? I think so, but of course that is up to Cedar Fair. But if Son of Beast was to be torn down, I'd want a new ride not another used one.
RWildman424
I think that if they keep retracking small sections of the ride every year, it will be better, but its wood...wood is rough...get over it. I'm sick and tired of hearing "Taer it down" over and over again. They're not gonna tear it down no matter how much you want them to. They have already put too much money in it just to tear it down and spend more money to put something else there. If you don't like it don't ride it. That just means shorter lines for those of us who do like it.
Browntggrr
They have already put too much money in it just to tear it down and spend more money to put something else there. And much of the money that has been spent went to re-tracking. So now that it has been determined that money is going to be spent either on re-tracking of removal of the ride, what is the lesser of two evils? If it goes to re-tracking, great. But SoB has been re-tracked on at least 3 occaisions since 2000, with no positve results. So I think it is safe to assume that re-tracking is not the answer. So now we are down to removal of a ride (yeah it will be a big bill) that will no longer take money away from other park projects. Browntggrr- who still hates the idea of removing any ride, but knows when to throw in the towel.

Because Cedar Fair will (eventually) be selling GL and turning it into the Geauga Lake Town Centre outdoor shopping center! And I (KI) want first-dibs on their best coaster!! The Interpreter
IF Cedar Fair sells Geauga Lake, it will have little to no say about what, if anything, replaces it. And there is a shopping center across the street (where many park in summer to avoid the parking fee, sadly).
DeLorean Rider
Sounds to me like the mall needs to charge for parking and then validate in the summer. Course I guess you could always make a quick purchase before you leave.
The Interpreter
The place across the street is an outdoor shopping center, with a Kohl's, McDonald's, etc. Charging for parking is really not a viable option.

Browntggrr- who still hates the idea of removing any ride, but knows when to throw in the towel. The parts that have been re-tracked are very noticibly better than parts that haven't. The ride has never been completely re-tracked and...I might be wrong, but there are still many original track sections on the circut. Taking small steps every winter to eventually re-track the ride will be much more cost effective then tearing the entire thing down.
fan of beast
i rode sob twice last sat. night. both times in the front seat/ red train. it was smoother than The Beast.
Cormaster
LOL yeah I joked around about how the should call it the Son of a B---- or A-- kicker because of what a beating it gives you, but after riding it 5 times at the park with 2 cars running smooth at all times on it I think the Son of Beast's troublesome times might be over. I guess time can only tell, but during visit it was running fine at all times. And honestly it alone is what made my visit feel complete. Its up there with The Vortex as one of my favorite coasters now!
