August 28, 200718 yr Since there have been rumors of Halloween Haunt being an upcharge, I was wondering what, after seeing the list of attractions, you would think would be a fair price for the charge. Please note that this topic is not about whether or not you LIKE the upcharge, but IF you were to pay one, what would be fair?
August 28, 200718 yr If I could go to HH, I would have no problem paying $20 for 6 hours in the park.
August 28, 200718 yr I think $20-$30 is a fair price for non-season pass holders and $10-$20 for season pass holders. I hope this isn't off topic but I think it is fine since I'm not saying there should or shouldn't be a fee... If free fear feast admission was promised for season pass holders then there needs to be something done to calm the waves if they do charge...perhaps a free ticket per pass to Halloween Haunt or something like that. That way you at least get one admission to Halloween Haunt but have to pay if you want to come back.
August 28, 200718 yr I believe that as long as there is justification for the cost, then the upcharge is acceptable. As long as I enjoy myself at Halloween Haunt with a $15 hole in my wallet, more than I would at Fearfest with an extra $15 then fine. It had better be clear that the majority of the upcharge is going to the improvement of the Halloween Haunt.
August 28, 200718 yr I voted for 16-20...I think $15.99 would be fair. I was shocked that somebody actually would pay $30.00 plus!
August 28, 200718 yr I`ll throw this little tidbit out there. When FearFest was last an upcharge attraction in 2002, pass holders could purchase a ticket to get in for $18.99. I don`t recall what they charged for people without a pass, but I seem to recall that it was $19.99 or $20.99.
August 28, 200718 yr Just remember, the they that were in charge of deciding what was to be charged back then were the Paramount Parks high uppity-ups. And like it or not, most of those people have left the building. (More correctly, even the building in Charlotte has been left). Those few who remain, for the most part, have little say in how things are done at today's Cedar Fair.
August 28, 200718 yr I voted for 5-10, only because they said 'Fear Fest' would be free this year, so if they do charge, it should be minimal. Next year? $20 would definitely be fine for me, especially if the haunts really are much better, not to mention the shorter lines.
August 29, 200718 yr Author Winterfest, both pre-Paramount and in the Paramount Era was an upcharge with a small discount for passholders of the NEXT year.
August 29, 200718 yr Winterfest pre-Paramount was included with your season pass, if you had that years pass or next years.
August 29, 200718 yr That is intresting. Pre-Paramount had no fee for the 1991 Winterfest, provided you purchased a 1992 season pass. Paramount had a reduced fee for 2005 WinterFest, provided you purchased a 2006 season pass. And some thoughts from the past: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...c=3060&st=0
August 29, 200718 yr Wow, even WF used to be included with your pass. Paramount seemed to definitely be more streamined with their passes. Seeing that old brochure from WF makes me sad. I missed that year and the next, and when I was finally going to be able to go, they quit having it....
