kinserman11
Hi guys, I was going to attend Halloween Haunt on the weekend of September 29th. I was curious as to how crowded it might be. I know that being a Saturday and all it will be crowded, but I talked to some people at KIC The Event on Aug 4th and they said from past experience that the first few weekends are not quite as crowded compared to when it gets closer to halloween. Some advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, J.W. Elliott
clbehymer
I went on the first Saturday of Fear Fest last year and it was a great day to go. The lines for rides during the day were not very long at all. However, the lines for the FF attractions were long (atleast a half hour to hour wait, and some were longer). I guess these lines are always going to be long.
hauntguy
Since HH is free, again, with your park ticket... expect lines for HH attractions to be MASSIVE!!! I think you'll only be able to do 2-3 HH attractions! -Hauntguy
BoddaH1994
Typically Friday is a better day to go than Saturday.
flightoffear1996
I go to the event weekend every year and I realized that crowds dont really come arount until 5 or so on a saturday. The HH line are almost always 1.5 - 2 hours long so get in line early if you can. Rides lines aren't very long compared to a typical Saturday. TopThrill
From what I've seen last year, Fridays are much better to go. Lines and crowds are lower.
TOPGUN1993
The best way to get on a "Haunt" Quick is to line up at the house 30mins before it opens to skip a 2-3 hour line.

Just remember, unless something changes, Kings Island does not open until noon on October Saturdays this year. I'd hate to be working GR when the out-of-towners who have been waiting two hours for the park to open start complaining.
Delirium33
Last year we went on opening weekend and the lines weren't bad a first but got extremely long as the night went on. Also, in my and my friends opinion, it seemed like it was missing something that first weekend. Like there wasn't enough scarers or something. Also the work site wasn't set up yet last year. Not saying it's going to be like that this year though. I'm really happy that HH is open on the weekdays leading up to Halloween. I bet the crowds are much more bearable those days. Only 23 more days....
The Interpreter
Just remember those are bareBONES nights...Only mazes and select rides will be open, according to the website. I am sure staffing will be a major consideration on those weeknights.
upstop
If you concentrate strickly on the Haunts, you can do them all, even on a crowded night. Also, as the season progresses the lines move faster. If you go closer to Halloween, you should be able to hit all attractions.
fan of beast
last years fearfest was tame and lame. they should have paid me to show up. i hope the haunt lines are miles long so i can ride rides with no wait.
Browntggrr
I'd hate to be working GR when the out-of-towners who have been waiting two hours for the park to open start complaining. But the moose out front should have told them....
CoastersRZ
Actually, the park did have The Worksite set up last year. For the first couple of weekends, it was over between Slingshot and the Age and Weight Stand by the Festhaus. Then they moved it (and expanded it) to the path next to the Dodgems that leads to the Eiffel Tower. It was also at this time when they made these scare zones attractions in themselves. Both midways were one directional, and you had to wait in line to experience the scare zones. This was likely a result of trying to keep parents from dragging their screaming kids through a 'normal' park midway. And I thought Fear Fest last year was one of the best ones they`ve had so far. I`ve been to every FearFest except for the inagural one back in 2000.
Reclaimer
I'm not saying it'll happen at KI, because, honestly..who knows at this point. However, Carowinds has updated their Scarowinds page to include information about a VIP Tour: Purchase our all-new Pre-Scare VIP Package for the killer price of only $55.99 per person (adult, junior or senior). The package is available every night of SCarowinds except Thurs. Sept. 27 and Sat. Sept. 29. The purchase price applies to tickets pre-purchased by 8 a.m. on the day of your visit. After 8 a.m., the price is $59.99 and must be purchased at the park prior to 5:30 p.m. The Pre-Scare VIP Package starts promptly at 5:30 and includes: 1. A VIP FearFeast served in our plaza pavilion until 6:30 p.m. An all-you-can-eat, buffet-style meal that includes Fried Chicken, Carolina Pulled Pork, Smoked Italian sausages, BBQ Baked Beans, Fried Potato Crisps, Creamy Cole Slaw, Pumpkin Spiced Cake and Coca-Cola soft drinks. 2. A private, escorted visit through at least two of our maniacal mazes beginning at 6:30 p.m. BEFORE SCarowinds opens to the public. 3. Early entrance into the entire park prior to opening at 7 p.m. Be one of the first in line at a terrifying maze or one of our petrifying rides. The Interpreter
That's not a bad price at all for what you get!
Reclaimer
That's kinda what I was thinking. I'd be tempted to do it...If it was at KI. (and if I currently had a job...Call back Starbucks!)
