I've heard from many people that Tomb Raider is old and wearing out and that it will be removed soon to make way for a Drop Coaster. I think Tomb Raider is one of the best rides in the park besides it's extreme downtime and I need to ask: What are Your opinions? What do you think is Tomb Raider's future? Thanks for your opinions.

I would love to see the building removed, the ride reprogramed to be a top spin and rethemed to a western theme. Then a path built between trtr and The Beast so that the park guests could really see how amazing that huge ride is in action. Also this path would alow the park to get to all the land behind trtr and around white water canyon.

My guess is this:

Yes it will be there for the 2008 season, what I hope will happen is it will have new themeing, a new name, and a new program. Hopefully the q-line themeing will be back up as well so the wait is just as fun as the ride like it used to be. This used to be one of the best themed attractions Ive ever been on and I wish it would go back to that!

I think the Tomb Raider specific theming will be gone sometime between 1 - 4 years from now. That means the pre-show movie will be gone (it may not even be back next season, I wouldn't be surprised) and maybe the entire audio track during the ride will be gone.

If the park continues to have serious issues with the ride being able to balance itself, then it might be removed. That is an extreme case though, and I highly doubt it will come to that. The building itself is useful for storage, so there's no way they'll tear it down without removing the ride entirely.

As for the theming, it will be kept at a minimum working level.

These are all predictions of course. =)

I think they will try hard to bring good themeing to it, thats what made it an awesome ride, as far as top spins go the program itself was horrible. I rode it once with no audio and it was the most boring ride ever.

Yea that western theme would be simply amazing and fit the area much much better. I would love to see that and a new program. The ride being outside would be pretty nice but might ruin alot of the ability to theme. You could even call the ride Maverick. Yea I don't see them tearing that ride down soon because its just not that old yet and one of the better huss top spins. With some TLC this ride could be amazing IMHO.

^ Does that thing even need a memorial? That ride was horrible when I was on it and I actually couldn't wait to get off the ride.

Hmm its ranked as one of the best run Huss Top Spins, also apparently CF thinks its pretty good since they are supposedly moving it to CP.

He doesn't. Nobody knows the future of GL or its attractions....except those few that are truly 'in the know'. And it's been said before: Those who talk don't know...Those who know don't talk.

Why does everybody want something to be TORN OUT! Why!? Tomb Raider is not that old, so it would be pretty much a waste of money for it to be torn out. I think all the themeing should stay, and it needs to all be working again. As stated in other topics, TRTR makes loude horrible noises wheen it is operating so, I doubt that it would be outside, plus I think the ride would be really really boring if it was outdoors. The ride wasn't to good when the music wasn't playing, so imagine it with no music, no themeing, and no darkness BORING! TRTR should be left where it is, only get the theming working again.

Yes it does. As DeLorean Rider and myself have said, if you heard the kind of noises that it makes you probably wouldn't ride it.

I meant, I doubt that they would put TRTR outside because of the noises.

Well if TRTR was outside the noises would not so bad. With the ride being in a box the sound is going to echo.

TRTR has been closed for a long time now. And on the Halloween Haunt website, TRTR isn't even listed as a ride. Same with IJST. Im not saying it won't be open.

If the ride wasn't as painful it would be awsome. I say new paint and paint it red white and blue just like Thunderhawk at Worlds of Fun. Also if they could crank up the water jets then we got a great water ride. Well thats just my 2 cents.
