August 21, 200421 yr At the start of the summer I made my trip to Cedar Point and they play music durning the wait for their lines and I found myself enjoying the line alot more. I rather see PKI put some good sound systems in the line and get ride the que tv's.
August 21, 200421 yr I could go for the music myself, but wouldn't you rather have better QTV programming than pumping 5000 watts at people in every major attraction line? I'm always a fan of loud music, but I know a lot of people can't stand loud music for an extended length of time (excluding concerts, etc).
August 21, 200421 yr i always enjoy when they play a good song and have the music video going along with it. then you get the best of both worlds.
August 21, 200421 yr Author I still like the music idea. The music idea would be cheaper and would keep me alot more happy.
August 21, 200421 yr I Like the tvs more because they always add new stuff like the making of The Beast.
August 22, 200421 yr Although I normally would choose music over video, I kind of like how it is. Simply because if they pumped 5,000 watts of music through a queue line, you wouldn't be able to hear anyone. With the QTV, you can choose wheather to pay attention or not.
August 22, 200421 yr I like the music better. Much more entertaining than most anything they have ever had on tv in line with the exception of the new Beast video. And, for the most part, you can hear what other people are saying when the music is going at CP. So, I can't imagine it being different with PKI. Also, generally, you see a lot of people getting into the music...I don't see anyone riveted by QTV.
August 22, 200421 yr Most of the time you cant even hear what they are saying on QTV. Many a times did I want to watch the "Making of The Beast" and give up because I just couldnt hear it! Lucky for me, they played the extended version during Beastbuzz. My choice would be if they just played music. I remember while being in line for MF at Cedar Point and the tunes were blasting away, everyone was pumped. Kinda made you forget you were waiting in line! The DJ even took requests, but he had no Led Zeppelin! DArn you Cedar Point DJ....Darn you!!!! Bill...who is heading to the park in a few hours, for his 20th time this season, to see Weird Al....alone. Sad isnt it?
August 24, 200421 yr I would love if PKI started playing music like Cedar Point. Baby likes to rock it like a chu-chu train!
August 25, 200421 yr As a matter of fact, I rarely see anyone paying any kind of attention to Queue TV.
August 28, 200421 yr Well way back when Kings Island had a good sound system in the lines. The Beast used to have the best music playing before QTV. I think PKI justed tried something new and it did not work and its still not working. When in line you don't have time to watch tv if the line is moving. Most of the music was on a loop from CDs you could hear the music in the hole park no matter where you went. I hope one day that Kings Island will return to just playing music and forget about QTV. AE had the theme music playing when you got in line now days you hear QTV before you get the station and hear the music.
August 29, 200421 yr I agree, the QTV was way better fifteen years ago and when there was something themed (all the fog & effects at Top Gun, for example) towards the stations, everybody was watching. The music videos, I wouldn't mind if they had some VARIETY. Or more than 3 videos. It's ridiculous. Get a long loop of a bunch of early 80's videos and people will watch, laugh, remember when... If I see Kid Rock again I will puke.
August 29, 200421 yr Hey, one more word out of you, and I'll make you sit in the corner and listen to Bawitdaba over and over for an hour.
August 29, 200421 yr Every time I get in Ryans car, some Kid Rock cd is always in the cd player. :cowboy:
September 2, 200421 yr Author Hey what is wrong with Kid Rock? I like that one CD with the middle finger on it.
September 4, 200421 yr You kids call that noise, music? (OK, it's happened, I've turned into my mother.) I've always found classic heavy metal is best for waking the dead - Scorpions, Priest... Back ON topic though, my original point wasn't actually to bash Kid Rock. That song of his they play isn't even that bad, it's the repetitiveness that bugs me. We come to the park for escapism, not stuff we can do at home, which is why so many people liked the specific-ride-theme music. Sadly, those have been gone so long the only one I remember clearly is The Demon Song from SFGA. The QTV in the mid-80's was cool, but has since evolved to the same two or three videos, and constant commercials. I have no idea how hard it is to obtain permission or the cost involved to use videos in the park. Whenever I'm in Coney, where the 80's music is played, there is always somebody getting all excited, singing along, dancing - "ooh, I know this song!" - it adds to the atmosphere and it isn't stuff we hear at home.
September 4, 200421 yr FlightofFear1996- Which one? Pretty much all of them have middle fingers on them. Mrs. G- I can't imagine it being too hard to obtain permission. I mean, how much could they charge to get free publicity?
September 7, 200421 yr I vote music. I never watch the QTV's and I never see alot of people watching them either. YOUKNOWWHATIMEAN!!???
September 8, 200421 yr None, it seems that people talk more instead of watch tv OR listin to music.Ether way, people will only listin or watch things they like.So PKI should just take out the tv's and save the money for somthing else like a new ride or higher pay for workers.
September 22, 200421 yr Author The first one with only one middle finger on it. Any way I would love to see high quality sound systems put in the line or moives based on the ride being played in the line. Examlpe Indina Jones in the Adventure Express line or Face/off in the face/off line.
September 22, 200421 yr I believe they play the Runaway Reptar episode of the Rugrats in the line for Rugrats Runaway Reptar, or at least they used to.
