Boomerang Bay

According to KI's website, it's $5 + a $5 deposit. Also, it still says Paramount's Kings Island, so I don't know if it's been updated....

As of yesterday lockers are $12. But $5 of it is a deposit that you get back, os they are really $7.

Correct. No more coin lockers in Boomerang Bay. I find $7 for a puny locker to be outrageous. Someone needs to tell management that we are in a recession, and remind them about the law of supply and demand, because patrons like me cannot afford $7 for lockers and $3.50 for soft drinks, etc.

That is why I chose NOT to use a locker and ate lunch out of the park. KI would make more money if they charged more reasonable rates. And I have been noticing more people NOT eating at the park. When I do eat there, lines are shorter.

It would be nice if they would think about the economy a little, not to mention $4.00 for a gallon of gas. It makes that $7 locker and $3.50 Coke seem a little (OK, a lot) overpriced. Maybe the management at KI needs to look at Holiday World's business model. They have free soft drinks and reasonably priced food, which is delicious. They also have roller coasters that are not trim braked to death, or stop in the middle of the ride for no reason. They also do not stop rides at the first sign of a sprinkle and keep them closed until the pavement dries, or kick riders off the ride even when the que line is empty. I do not understand the rain policy anyway. They could put the old skid brakes back in The Beast station and completely cover them with the lift chain grease and it would still stop before a collision due to all of the trimming the ride receives.

Funny you should ask. I went to Boomerang Bay yesterday and the lockers $7 + $5 deposit money. A total of $12 up front. So, my wife and I decided NOT to rent a locker as they are over-prices and too small.

My lord. That is really staggering. We're not all Rockefellers CF, how about showing the common man a little break?

Am I the only one who finds it amusing that apparently the younger generation finds it necessary to take amusement devices with them to a waterpark?

Mr. Kinzel has a lot more competition than even he realizes...

I'm part of that younger generation (16) and don't find it at all neccessary. Even in the actual park. I definitely find it amusing that some people can't amuse themselves. I wouldnt fathom bringing my ipod or psp (another gaming device) to ki, the most expensive thing I bring is my phone and my money.

I've said for a long time that parks could increase revenue by offering some sort of device to occupy GP while in long queue's, or when making their way through the park. Maybe something interactive like a trivia game against other people in the park. With the advent of Wi-Fi There are a number of models that would be viable. Maybe a $10 dollar rental with $5 of that going to a prize pool of some sort. You would just have to swipe your credit card (or season pass for that matter) for deposit purposes.

Could be worth a few nickels to 'em!

And this is different from an illegal lottery exactly how?

Oh, wait. It's Cedar Fair. And the Ohio Lottery is a sponsor. I am beginning to get it....

You would take it with you throughout your stay, not just when queued up deep. The idea of a contest/game(s) with REAL prizes appeals to me more than a $5 shot at an enormous stuffed gorilla. Could be cash, gift cards for their overpriced food, gift cards for their overpriced merchandise, A free Icee Mix Up would be worth $5.39 for petes sake. Their are plenty of things the could offer at virtually zero cost to the park, i.e. Bring a friend free, Buy one admission get one free, etc. Shoot A preferred parking upgrade would be fine with me. The idea is similar to the basketball game near BLSC which is offering an iPod to the high scorer for the season.

Similar to games that they play in bars all over the country.

Except for the prize, it's nothing that could not be done.

I just feel its a way to increase revenue from a certain segment of the GP. Being a family of 6, we eat lunch at the car, maybe get the kids a $1.99 Icee refill each, when we are thirsty we get ice water from the foodstands. I don't need a goldfish, and theres not even room in my garage for one of those ridiculously huge stuffed animals, yet given the *chance* to win stuff to enhance future visits I would drop some extra dough for that in a heartbeat, shoot my wife probably would too.

Sounds fun when you are lounging at BB, not buying a $12 locker!
