MYSTERY NO MORE--KI BUILDING HYPERCOASTER

People always seem to make the mistake that rivertown is themed like "cowboy old west" when in reality it's more themed to just an old mining town. I would like to see an improvement on the theme of rivertown, and make everything fit into the mining theme (The Crypt!!!)

I definetly think you're onto something here. Why not make The Crypt a mine elevator from hell? Or something along those lines (see Mystery Mine).

Did you just happen to miss the theming in the snake and booby trap tunnels. The volcano one I can understand because those lights burn out quickly and take some time to replace.

Ive ridden AE many many times (atleast 3 times each visit) and i have never noticed any theming besides.. The stone arches, the last tunnel, on the first chain lift there are the masks, and a red lightbulb in the first tunnel.

By season 2 of AE, the theming had already gone to pot. Ironically, it was themed by the same folks that did Phantom Theater.

BTW, in the first few years of AE's operation, you got wet. Well, a little wet. The final Forbidden Temple statue tilted a "lava pot" that had water running out of it.

I also remember that too and the mist coming into the tunnels is never working either that was always cool, has anyone been on it night and are the different colored lights working when you make the turn out of the station? I thought that was cool how they did that I also agree though that the theming is horrible now lol. :D

Best theming in the park though has to be the stagnant pool on BLSC, one can only hope the splashdown of 2009 isn't doomed to a similar fate. Why even add theme elements in the first place if you aren't going to do the upkeep? It only makes your park look older and delapidated.

I actually forgot about the "lava pot"

Next time you ride, take a good look at one of the tunnels on each of your usual 3 rides.

The snake tunnel has snakes hanging from the walls and ceilings. They used to have an audio of hissing as you went through that tunnel, but it is so brief you hardly noticed. When it first opened there was a bell that rang on the outside of the tunnel next to a sign that read "Bridge Out" or something along those lines. Which fits into the audio theming in the station if you listen "Track 2 is no longer in use and has been abandoned," "...avoid the deep jungle route as it is now impassable" (Not sure if they still play the voice over the Indiana Jones theme).

The second tunnel (booby trap) there are spears that shoot out of the walls as you go by. Unfortunately, they never got the timing down so either the spears are already out when the train rounds the turn, or they shoot out once you start up the lift so you miss them all together.

Well, here's the thing - BackTrack's splashdown effect was actually a series of water jets hidden in the water that sprayed outwards when the cars flew by to simulate a 'three-point landing' into an aqueduct thanks to sensors on the track.

If our new Beemer is getting the same treatment that Sheikra and Griffon received, then the 09 coaster's splashdown will be au natural, thanks to scoops under the train that, when contact is made with Swan Lake (what's left of it, anyway), will allow a nice splashtastic effect that will be simply awesome to watch from the midway.

Cool! I never knew. I remember some of the effects from the 90s but not everything. I miss the well done theming. It really added to the ride.

The park basically gave you the name of the coaster on one of the signs they had posted on the 4th. I'm EXTREMELY shocked that no one has picked up on it.

ok bodda, you now have me really confused. after seeing "ride sally ride", i was convinced it was "mustang".

your post has me guessing again. the way you capitalized "EXTREMELY", is making me think that "extreme" is in the name.

you also said they practically gave us the name on one of the signs. after pondering on "the park strikes back",

could it be "GOLDSTRIKE"?

Ghost Rider

Yeah, I know there's already a coaster named "Ghost Rider", but there are how many named "Goliath"? Plus, if you Google "Maverick Ghost Rider", you'll see there was a movie by that name that took place in the western frontier. Maybe the part of the sign that says "The park strikes back" is a reference to how our new coaster will "strike back" at CPs Maverick...?

I was also on RCDB today and it was given as a hyper coaster built by B&M. I am really hoping it does not have 3 loops given the fact that then the trains would have OTSR instead of the clamshell lap bars as seen on Apollo's Chariot. I am very anxious to see the ride start going up and the track starting come in.

OK I have to share this with all of you. Wayyyyyyyyyyyy back when I was in school, we had a guy that was way too smart for his britches. He asked the professor (jokingly at first): If a moving staircase takes you up, you would call it an escalator. If the staircase takes you down, why do you not call it a desendalator? The discussion got so heated that we ended up writing that terms thesis on geometric mechanical movement. (I know it has nothing to do with the topic, but does any thing really? Stay tuned we will find out.)

Round the world and home again, that’s the sailors way. There's no earthly way of knowing which direction we are going. There's no knowing where we're rolling or which way the rivers flowing. Is it raining? Is it snowing? Is a hurricane a blowing? Not a spec of light is showing so the danger must be growing. Are the fires of hell glowing? Is the grisly reaper mowing? YES, the danger must be growing because the rowers keep on rowing, and their certainly not showing any signs that they are slowing.

Simply put: Nothing is as it seems, unless it is real in a dream.
