Oh man! That was my favorite thread! It's not closed, its acually missing!

So not cool! What was wrong with it?! were too many ppl actually taking it seriously?!

R.I.P "Camping Out and Waiting For Diamondback" you will be missed...

RIP :( ***

Let's see...we had posts in this fictional thread that a casual guest may not tell was a fictional thread talking about:

* injuries in the park, some quite serious

* camping out INSIDE the park, waiting for a coaster to open next spring...what if someone saw that, went to the park and joined the group, or tried to?

* perhaps most seriously, people bribing ride ops to operate rides after the park was closed...(no, people this did NOT happen, the thread was fictional)

* posters joining the thread asking if it was real

* promotion of a competing soda product, including displaying a photo doctored so as to appear to depict an official Kings Island representative , the park's well known PR rep, in a soda bottle of said competing product, when The Coca-Cola Company is the exclusive soft drink of Kings Island, and pays handsomely for the privilege. A large portion of the thread was in fact devoted to a trek to find more and more of that competing product, when Kings Island is a Coke park. Let's just say that Coke would not be amused, and protects its rights with great zeal.

This site is a fantastic one, and has a very close relationship with Kings Island, one that it has worked hard to acquire. It has credibility with the industry, which it has worked hard to attain and maintain. That thread was not helping.

The comments expressed here are those of one very close to the industry and to many of its participants. They are not necessarily those of the moderators or administrators of KI Central.

By the way, according to the Terms of Service:

....You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this KICentral message board to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law....

That entire thread suddenly became, in my opinion, violative of this term.

Also, given the concerns I noted:

...Speaking without the concern or not in the interest of KICentral, its community, or its members is a violation of an individual user's terms of service...

A violation does not have to be intentional...we've all done that. But I commend the administrators and mods...I'm sure it was a painful decision, but one that had to be made. I hope you understand.

Terpy, who knows more than a few industry people, and who some think is an industry people

I greatly enjoyed the lattest blog post from Don. Although I am a bit saddend my calculations for the lift hill were off 5degrees. Although not 45, 40 is quite steep.

The second hill sounds even more insane now. Almost 200' and diving in to the ravine it will pick up a few additional mph over 80!!! The second hill may end up being a massive air time hill also.

Final observation is that the rendering of the Splashdown pool sounds like it was made to be very true to life. I think the splash with the landscaped pool will be one of the most amazing visual features on the ride

More from today!

You know the routine

You know what really gets me? That right there is not the tallest support! I think we can all agree the animation does this ride no justice.

Maybe CoastersRZ can shed a little more light on this, but I think the tallest support will be on the midway, the one with the planter on it right now.

Actually,no. The footing with the planter will hold up the support holding the top of the first drop, the support that's been standing alone for a while will be the tallest.

He is correct, that the tallest support is the one that has had one piece installed for several weeks now. The footing that is located right in front of the old time photo will support the support that supports the first drop, and is slightly smaller than the tallest lift support.

^^Wow, we dont have very much more to go on that lift!

^Hopefully, lift track!

In regards to which support is the tallest, in total length, the support to the left of your blue line would technally be the tallest.

FOFreak, who just HAD to!
