RailRider Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Video from Channel 12 actually has the KI POV footage included and Don confirmed the 2nd drop may be the best part of the ride with an insane amount of airtime. Local 12 This just looks awesome.
trevor75 Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 that is some great video and I can't wait to go over that second hill!
catzdrummer09 Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 If you are planning to come to KI more than once, its a waste of money not to get a season pass. Not when I get my tickets for 25 dollars. I never said I'm not getting one indefinitely I just know I wont have one on Saturday. Exactly! I love being a Kroger employee!!....sometimes.
IndyGuy4KI Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 If you see on the DB sign behind her that they added some writing on the right side. Her head is blocking the left side. I am wondering what they put on there!
fcbaseball Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Going over the second hill looks to have at least 6 seconds of airtime judging by the way the camera lifts with the train. Just amazing... ^ If you look when they are interviewing Mr. Helbig you can see what it says.
RailRider Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 If you see on the DB sign behind her that they added some writing on the right side. Her head is blocking the left side. I am wondering what they put on there! If you watch the video when they are talking to Don he is infront of the sign early this morning and it says on the left side "Do Not Disturb."
IndyGuy4KI Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 If you see on the DB sign behind her that they added some writing on the right side. Her head is blocking the left side. I am wondering what they put on there! If you wath the video when they are talking to Don he is infront of the sign early this morning and it says on the left side "Do Not Disturb." Didn't notice that, thanks Railrider. I bet the sign looks great now that they filled in some of the dead space!
trevor75 Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Man it is times like this i miss working at the radio station we got to go and preview SOB when it was finished! And boo i can't get the webcam up this morning!
Go Browns Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Full POV and reverse POV Too bad there is no sound
XGatorHead 8904 Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Man it is times like this i miss working at the radio station we got to go and preview SOB when it was finished! And it's times like this when I miss working at the park in the capacity I did a few years ago. I got to be a media escort for the Drop Zone/Face Off media preview day, the SoB announcement, and the SoB, TR:TR and SD&THC media days. I also got to ride OL:FoF for a commercial shoot before it opened to the public.
Ashers Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 I don't know if this was posted anywhere else, but here is the Fox19 segment! http://www.fox19.com/global/Category.asp?C...;autoStart=true
fcbaseball Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Ha. Ha. Ha. I can't help but laugh when I see all the people riding it for the first time and how enjoyable it looks! The splashdown looks incredible!
trevor75 Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 I love where the guy is trying to keep the girls hand up in the air going over the hill! Good stuff!
RailRider Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Massive Airtime from the looks of the video. The 30 second figure looks to be pretty accurate.
markhudson17 Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Those videos have me more excited. And I don't know how that is even possible.
gad198 Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Did you see how fast the train is going over the hill after the hammerhead (right as the channel 12 video cuts from the POV)? Wow! If that trim is off might we see, dare I say it, an ejector air moment on a B&M??
teenageninja Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 I bet there is a lot of air in the front car. Call it a hunch, but with how fast it is going, it looks rediculous.
trevor75 Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Can someone help me out with this, they keep saying 10 vertical drops, but i only count 9 where is the tenth. I count the first three hills, the drop after the hammerhead, the hill before the helix, the drop after the helix, the two bunny hops or hills, and the splashdown. Please don't tell me they are counting the little drop where the break run is at the end of the ride, it looks like there is a slight drop before the turn around to the station house. Anyone that counts ten please tell me where i am missing.
flightoffear1996 Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 They count the break run as a drop. They may call it a drop others may call it a drop but im calling it a slope.
trevor75 Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 okay so they are counting that little slope in the break run at the end. Thanks for the help. I think it should be 9 drops and a break SLOPE, to call 10 drops on this is for me to call "shenanigans"
Diamondback FOF Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 but which way would be the best way to get to DB, through Nickelodeon Universe or by the Eiffel Tower? I'm going through Nickelodeon Universe on opening day. You may not be. At 8:45 people are being escorted back and then they will probably have all paths but one blocked off until almost 10. They don't want people running all throughout the park.
flightoffear1996 Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 I like the escort idea. I don't want to be trampled on or see anyone else get trampled for a 2:00 minute ride.
Diamondback FOF Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 ^^Btw...can anyone confirm, perhaps employee stuntvolt who I see online, if the snake heads have the iris in their eyeballs yet?? Yes. Diamondback FOF who just HAD to. I'm sure they probably have been placed on, but IDK.
Amber Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 I caught myself laughing and moving with the train while watching the POV, ha ha. The lady in the front seat was cracking me up. She wanted to keep her hands up, but fear kept bringing them down. There were alot of people on the ride???
Ashers Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 This is going to be the longest day of my LIFE! I won't even be able to concentrate at work today, and I know I won't be able to sleep tonight! Those videos everyone posted were awesome. Thanks so much Go Browns for posting those POV's....those were incredible. The air time looks like it's going to be insane. I can't wait!! Only a few more hours! ~Ash
TopThrill Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 I like how the women on the channel 5 news said that it didn't hurt your back or neck, like some of there others coasters that do. And it was nice to see a POV of the ride to on there website.
fcbaseball Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 If anyone else was wondering, the eyes have been placed on the trains. You can see them in the videos that have been posted on here.
