November 5, 200817 yr As reported in the Diamondback Construction Thread, a very special Gold Pass perk will be given to ALL Gold Pass holders in 2009 in which EVERYONE with a Kings Island Gold Season Pass will be able to ride Diamondback before the public opens to the public... every day! Details on Kings Island's official web site VisitKingsIsland.com!
November 5, 200817 yr ...which of course also includes Kings Island Platinum Pass holders...but does it also include Platinum Passholders from other Cedar Fair parks, such as Cedar Point, Dorney Park, etc.?
November 5, 200817 yr Author Yes -- a Platinum Pass from any other CF park is as good as a Gold Pass from Kings Island at Kings Island.
November 5, 200817 yr Thanks...though I have a Kings Island Platinum Pass for next year, in past years I have had a Cedar Point pass, and many of my friends have Dorney Park passes (how'd that happen? ) I really appreciate that Cedar Fair is treating its Platinum Pass holders well.....
November 5, 200817 yr before the public opens to the public... every day! Well I am just happy the public where I live is always public! Anyways, I can't wait to get over to the park on the 17th!
November 5, 200817 yr If the person who thought of this was standing in front of me, I'd kiss them. That seriously just put the biggest smile on my face.
November 5, 200817 yr lol, yeah I am overjoyed too. Already got a countdown on my computer desktop, only 163 Days, 1 hour, 4 minutes, and 15 seconds left!
November 5, 200817 yr If the person who thought of this was standing in front of me, I'd kiss them. That seriously just put the biggest smile on my face. Interp thought of that..... LOL!!!! Sorry, Terpy, just had to!!!
November 5, 200817 yr I am very excited about the sneak preview day for the Gold Pass Perk entitles, even more since this past weekend. The only draw back for me is going on a Friday for the sneak preview then nothing Saturday then back for opening day on Sunday.

Sorry, Terpy, just had to!!! BAD Terpy! I'm so glad I renewed my platinum for next year. I told a friend of mine about season pass preview day (he has a CF platinum pass), and he refuses to believe me.
November 5, 200817 yr El Vira's cousin. She lets you ride Diamondback early every day, if you have a gold or platinum pass, starting next year. Terpy, who just HAD to
November 5, 200817 yr So is the preview day on April 17th for DB only, or is it kind of like a soft opening for the whole park? The current details are kinda vague. Not that it matters really, cause I will drive the 2 1/2 hours to ride DB then go home, but the whole park would be an awesome bonus. So glad I decided to go ahead and renew my pass! Can't wait! By the way, FOFreak that was too funny. Wrong on so many levels, but funny nonetheless
November 5, 200817 yr I'm really glad to see the gold pass getting more perks each year. And while some of the gold pass benefits at KI were kind of 'meh' (well, except the free parking, holy crap, greatest idea ever), this news about Diamondback is just amazing. I'm hoping they start doing like CP does with platinum passholders and adding additional rides to the early ride time. While the platinum pass has no benefits over the gold pass at KI, I'm so glad the extra perks carry over to CP. That extra hour of ride time is worth it's weight in gold.

November 5, 200817 yr ^I third that. Cuts the lines for chosen rides in half. Can't wait for Diamondback Preview day, and the Early ride Time every day is a Brilliant Idea, can't wait to wake up, eat, dress, drive, and ride!
November 5, 200817 yr Diamondback ERT *everyday*!?! Color me impressed!! Although, I'm almost thinking this is equally a good way to cut down on massive ROTB's... So is the preview day on April 17th for DB only, or is it kind of like a soft opening for the whole park? The current details are kinda vague. Not that it matters really, cause I will drive the 2 1/2 hours to ride DB then go home, but the whole park would be an awesome bonus. Edit: I went back and read some TR's for SPPN at Canada's Wonderland, and many other rides were open that night and not just Behemoth...so my guess is KI will be similar. Also, some other interesting things about CW's SPPN this year, they let people into the park a half-hour early just like any other day, for the first hour Behemoth only ran two trains, which is a good point that a 3 train D-back operation for the entire SPPN is by no means guaranteed!! Finally, also interesting to note that the charity riders got to then get in line first before the passholders made their way back to the new ride...this definitely sweetens the deal for the charity auction, in addition to avoiding the long waiting and entry choas!
November 6, 200817 yr So KI Platinum Pass holders will be the first to ride, along with Gold Pass holders, on Diamondback?

It probably wouldn't kill anyone to have The Beast open as well during the morning ERT, but that will be decided by those who decide things, I guess.
November 6, 200817 yr Well, by definition, it certainly will not be decided by those who don't decide such things. Put another way, it will be decided by the decider, so long as the decider remains the decider. Terpy, who's not been drinking da cider yet this morning. Honest.
November 6, 200817 yr Well since you put it that way, two thoughts come to my mind; I still can not decide.

November 6, 200817 yr ...and stay that way until such time as it doesn't.... Terpy, among whose favorite sayings is the old saw: "Things are more like they are now than they were when I got here."
November 6, 200817 yr What a great idea! Definitely a good marketing tactic for passes. I'm definitely looking forward to taking advantage of this.
